Each spice adds to Thai cuisine's distinct flavour profile. You will often find lemongrass in soups, curries and stews. Galangal gives dishes a peppery flavor; chilies add a spicy kick to dishes. Can you spice up a drink?

I love the way spices add flavour to food. How do you make spices alive in drinks?

Spices can bring out the best of any beverage. You can add a little cinnamon or nutmeg to any glass of wine, beer or coffee.

But, since most recipes call to ground spices, you'll need whole spices. While this makes sense, it is costly, takes time and requires storage space.

This is where magic happens. With some creativity, your favourite spices can be made into powdered forms that are easy to use. You can then mix the spices into your favorite beverages to make delicious spiced drinks.

There are two possible ways to create these powders. The first involves the grinding of whole spices to make fine powder. Another method is to use a mortar & pestle to grind the spices until they are finely ground.

No matter which method you use, the powder will be much easier to measure and store than whole spices. Plus, the powder keeps well so that you won't run out of stock.

You can also experiment with different spices to create new flavor combinations. For minty water you could mix spearmint with peppermint leaves. Ginger and cardamom pods can be used to make spicy ginger Tea.

Once you've learned how to make powdered spices from scratch, you can apply the same process to herbs. You can use basil, rosemary and thyme as common herbs.

There are so many possibilities. Powdered spices can enhance the flavor and texture of beverages, such as soups or salads, as well as the taste of pasta.

What are the seven Indian spices?

Indian spices include a range of spices that are used to make Indian cuisine. They are usually made up of cardamoms, cumins, corianders, turmeric and fenugreek. This spice blends natural ingredients to create flavour and aroma. The unique flavour profiles created by spices are what make Indian cooking special.

Cardamom has a pungent, sweet taste with hints o citrus and ginger. It's used in many dishes, including biryani and curries. Cumin has an earthy, rich aroma and a nutty flavor. It is used to spice up curries, dals and meat dishes. Coriander's sweet, citrus aroma adds a subtle sweetness to dishes. It is often used in seasoning vegetables and lentils.

Turmeric has an earthy, spicy flavour that includes mustard, spices and pepper hints. This spice is used in curries and other dishes. It has a golden color. Fenugreek is a spice with a rich aroma and earthy tones. It also has a bitter taste. It is often used to season meat dishes like kebabs and curries. It is spicy and pungent with citrus hints. It adds the perfect kick to dishes such as curries, chutneys, and soups. Asafoetida (hing), has a strong flavor and pungent smell that can be used in place of onion and garlic in certain recipes.

Together, these spices create unique flavors that make Indian cooking so distinct.

Thai cuisine uses garlic. Garlic is often used to make Thai dishes, including salads and soups, stir-fries and curries, as well as sauces and sauces.

Garlic is often fried in Thailand with ginger, shallots, and other spices. Also, you can eat it with sticky white rice.

Garlic is best chopped finely and mixed with oil, chilli paste, fish sauce, lime juice and oil. This mixture is known as Nam Phrik (namphrik). Nam phrik is often served with grilled chicken or beef.

What's the difference of curry and curried

There is no difference between the spellings. Both terms refer to the exact same thing: An Indian dish that combines meat and vegetables with different seasonings.

Curry comes from Hindi word kari that means "to rub". It refers how spice mixtures are applied to food. Curry foods are usually cooked until golden brown.

Curried dishes were once reserved for special occasions, but today, they're enjoyed frequently throughout India. These dishes can be chicken, beef (lamb), fish, or vegetables.

Curried dishes can be served alongside plain white or brown rice. The most common accompaniments are raita (a yogurt paste) and chutney.

How To

How to Make a Garlic Pressure?

A garlic presse is an indispensable tool for home chefs. It can be used to quickly mince garlic into a paste. It is also useful for crushing whole cloves of garlic into buttery spreads and garlic salt.

If you don't yet have a garlic presse, you may be wondering where to get one. Here are some tips that will help you get started.

First of all, you'll need to get a large bowl. Place the bowl beneath the press, and then pour the crushed garlic in it. Now adjust the pressure regulator to the maximum.

Next, turn your handle clockwise to hear a click. The top end of the press should lift and reveal a flat area that allows you to slide your blade back and forth across the bowl. Keep turning the handle clockwise until you reach the end of the blades.

Finally, take out the pressed ginger and enjoy!

Here are other ways you can make use of this versatile tool.

  • Add minced garlic to soups, sauces, salads, and dips (or even as a seasoning)
  • To crush whole garlic cloves, use the press to create a buttery spread
  • Put whole garlic cloves on top of pizza dough, before you bake
  • Combine roasted garlic with mashed potatoes and creamy polenta
  • The press can be used to make pesto from garlic
  • Puree garlic into a smooth vinaigrette
