Frequently Asked Questions

Does Thai use ginger?

The answer is yes. Ginger is used extensively in traditional Thai cooking. Ginger is often used to make stir-fries and soups. It is also used in desserts, drinks, such a lassis.

Ginger is a common ginger plant in China, Japan, Korea, and elsewhere. Its origins can be traced back to more than 5,000years ago. It is believed it originated in Southeast Asia. There, it was used for medicinal purposes.

Ginger has been shown to reduce nausea and stimulate digestion. It may even help prevent migraines. In addition, ginger aids in reducing muscle spasms, relieving joint pains, and treating arthritis.

Ginger is often fresh in Thailand. Ginger root is first cut into thin strips before drying and stored. You can buy ginger root in jars or cans from Asian markets.

Almond Flour or Almond Meal? What is the difference?

Almond meal can be substituted for almond flour and is versatile enough to be used in baking, cooking and even making nut-free meals.

Almond flour may also contain gluten, making it difficult to digest. Avoid gluten-free food if you have celiac disease, or any other digestive disorder.

Almond flour isn't considered "superfood", but it is high in healthy fats, fibres, protein, vitamin E, and sodium.

The nutritional benefits of almond meal include magnesium and copper, iron and zinc, manganese as well as potassium and vitamin C.

Almond flour is made from almonds and contains monounsaturated fat acids. Almond oil, however, contains polyunsaturated oils. Both types lower LDL (bad cholesterol) and increase HDL(good cholesterol).

Almond flour also contains antioxidants like phenolics and flavonoids. These compounds prevent free radical-induced oxidative stress.

An experiment published in the Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry showed that almond flour has an equivalent antioxidant activity to that of blueberries.

Almond milk is often sold with almond flour, which has been fortified with additional nutrients.

Is Thai cooking made with garlic?

Thai cuisine includes garlic. Garlic is often used to make Thai dishes, including salads and soups, stir-fries and curries, as well as sauces and sauces.

Thai garlic is chopped and fried together with ginger, shallots and other spices. It is also often eaten with sticky rice.

It is common to mince garlic and then mix it with chili paste, salt, fish sauce and lime juice. This mixture is known as Nam Phrik (namphrik). Nam phrik can be served with grilled chicken and beef.

What is the difference between cooking Whole and Ground Spices? Ground Spices?

There is no difference between cooking whole spices and with ground spices. All spices are ground after harvesting. The quality is the same.

However, the price difference is substantial. Whole spices cost more because of the labour involved in processing them. However, the flavor is worth it.

Buy whole spices and you'll often receive additional discounts. An example: If you buy an entire bag full of cinnamon sticks, you might get a discount.

It is the same for cardamom and cloves as well as ginger, ginger, nutmeg, and ginger. If you purchase these spices in bulk, you may be able to save money.

Whole spices can also last longer than the ground spices. Ground spices quickly lose their potency due to oxidation.

But the main reason why we recommend purchasing whole spices is that they add a lot of character to recipes.

A delicious curry can be made with whole turmeric as opposed to ground turmeric. To make a spice mixture for chicken dishes, you can grind whole coriander seed.

It takes time to grind spices. A large amount of whole spices is a good idea. This will ensure that you don't run out of spices quickly.

Does Thai food have cumin in it?

Cumin is one the most common spices in Thai cooking. To create Thai dishes with unique flavours, cumin is often combined in various combinations with garlic ginger, coriander, coriander, or other spices.

Stir-fries (curries), soups, salads and soups are some of the many uses for cumin that Thai cooks use. Cumin can also be added to sauces, marinades and dressings. Cumin is a key ingredient in Thai food. However, there are many other spices.

Fish sauce, garlic and ginger are all great additions to this mix. By combining these spices in different proportions, chefs can create signature dishes that capture the essence of Thai cuisine.

Cumin is an essential ingredient in Thai cooking. It is used in many Thai traditional dishes. Cumin's unique flavours add a rich and distinct flavor to Thai food. Cumin adds its distinct spices to many popular dishes, making it an essential part of Thai cuisine.

Cinnamon adds sweetness, while black pepper brings out savoury flavours. Curry powder gets its yellow hue from turmeric and coriander seeds. Cayenne peppers add heat, while cilantro brings out the freshness. Cinnamon adds complexity and depth to any dish.

How To

How to store spices for cooking?

How to store cooking spices in a way that maximizes their performance. First, it is important to understand the science behind how foodstuffs are stored.

Spices are stored in airtight containers away from the light because exposure to light diminishes their flavour. This is because oxygen reacts with organic compounds like those in spices to cause oxidation.

To avoid oxidation, spices must be kept in dark cupboards. These conditions can cause spices to quickly lose their flavor.

It is the best way to preserve spices' flavours by keeping them out of direct sunlight.

To create a flavorful drink, you can add spices and herbs to water. For example, you could mix 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon in 1/2 cup of warm milk and stir it well. Add a squeeze of lemon juice and serve immediately.

Dried herbs can be added to soups stews, casseroles pasta dishes rice dishes salads and desserts. Spread the spice mixture evenly onto the dish. Allow it to sit for between 5-10 minutes before serving.

Remaining cooked vegetables, fruit and meats can be used in your favorite recipes to make snacks.

For the best flavor of fresh herbs, you can chop them up or tear them apart and then add them to your favorite foods. You can also freeze herbs and spices by placing them in ice cube trays or muffin cups and freezing them. Once frozen, place them in freezer bags or zip-top bags.
