How to store your spices?

They should be kept out of direct sunlight and heat in an airtight container.

To store spices for longer periods of time, place them in a dark cupboard. This will keep the spices fresh and prevent any oxidation.

Keep your spices out of direct sunlight and in a cool dry place. A heater or window can cause the spice to lose its aroma and flavour.

Spices need to be kept in an airtight glass container or tin. Avoid storing spices in plastic containers.

After opening the seal, make sure to inspect it again. Humidity can cause spoilage.

Can you put spice in a drink?

I love how spices bring flavour to food. How can you make spices come to life when they are used in drinks?

Spices can bring out the best of any beverage. A dash of cinnamon and nutmeg can make any beverage more delicious, including coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and cocktails.

But, since most recipes call to ground spices, you'll need whole spices. This is sensible, but it can be expensive, time-consuming, and requires storage space.

This is where magic happens. With a little creativity, you can make your favorite spices easy to use in powdered form. To make tasty spiced drinks, you can combine them with your favourite beverages.

There are two possible ways to create these powders. A second method is to grind whole spices into fine powder. Another way is to grind the spices in a mortar and pestle.

It doesn't matter what method you choose, the result is easier to measure out than whole spices and easier to store. The powder is stable so you don't run low on stock.

You can experiment with mixing spices to create different flavours. Peppermint and spearmint can be combined to make minty water. You can also make spicy ginger-ginger tea by combining ginger and cardamom seeds.

Once you are proficient in making powdered spice, you can also apply this technique to herbs. You can use basil, rosemary and thyme as common herbs.

There are so many possibilities. You can use powdered spice to enhance the flavour of your drinks or dishes like soups, salads, or pasta.


What kind of mint is used to make Thai food?

Thai cuisine's most used type is lime-leaf, or Mentha cervina.

It adds freshness to dishes with its mild, lemony flavor. To enhance Thai cuisine's flavour, other spices like galangal, coriander, lemongrass and garlic are often added.

Mint is versatile and can be used both in sweet and savoury recipes. Using the right spices, herbs, and aromatics is essential to achieving delicious authentic Thai flavours.
