Almond Flour vs. Almond Meal. What's The Difference?

As an almond flour alternative, an almond meal is more versatile because it can be used for baking, cooking, and even making nut-free dishes.

Almond flour could also contain gluten making it difficult for some people to digest. Gluten-free foods should be avoided if you have celiac Disease or any other digestive condition.

Almond flour isn’t considered a superfood per se but it does contain healthy fats, fibre and protein and no cholesterol.

Almond meal has many nutritional benefits, including magnesium, copper and zinc as well as manganese and potassium.

Almond flour is made with almonds. Almond oils contain polyunsaturated essential fatty acids. Both types reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol and increase HDL ("good") cholesterol.

In addition, almond flour is rich in antioxidants, including flavonoids, phenolics, and proanthocyanidins. These compounds protect against free radical-induced oxidative harm.

A study published by the Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry revealed that almond flour had an antioxidant activity equal to that of blueberries.

Almond flour is commonly sold together with almondmilk, which has additional nutrients.


What are the 11 Indian spices?

The eleven spices of Indian cuisine are coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, mustard seeds, nigella seeds, black pepper, cloves, cinnamon sticks, dry red chili powder, turmeric, and cardamom.

These ingredients can be found in almost all dishes. These spices impart a distinct flavor to dishes such as curries (lentils), curries and chutneys. They also add a unique taste to rice, bread, and sweets.

For health reasons, spices are also beneficial. Turmeric, for example, is known to fight cancer cells. Cloves protect against bad breath. Black pepper lowers cholesterol. Cinnamon lowers blood pressure. And ginger aids digestion.

The spice rack is an excellent kitchen tool as it allows you to experiment and create new combinations of flavors. You can make your spice mix or buy ready-made blends that contain many of the essential spices.

Some people do not like to add spices to their food. They believe spices only mask natural flavor and do little to enhance them. A pinch of salt and pepper can enhance the flavor of your food.

Most chefs agree that spices are an essential part of cooking art. Without them, many dishes would be bland and tasteless. Next time you feel inspired, try a new recipe.


Can you spice up a drink?

I love the way spices add flavour to food. But how do you make spices liven up when they are added to drinks?

Spices are great because they bring out the best in any beverage. From coffee to tea, hot chocolate to cocktails, there's nothing more satisfying than adding a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg to a glass of wine or beer.

However, most recipes call for ground spice so you will need fresh whole spices. This is sensible, but it can be expensive, time-consuming, and requires storage space.

This is where magic happens. With your creativity, you can turn your favorite spices into easy-to-use powdered products. To make tasty spiced drinks, you can combine them with your favourite beverages.

These powders can be made in two ways. The first involves the grinding of whole spices to make fine powder. Another uses a mortar and pestle to grind the spices into a finer consistency.

You'll find it easier to make powder than whole spices, regardless of the method. Powder keeps well, so you will never run out.

You can also experiment with different spices to create new flavor combinations. You could make minty water by combining spearmint and peppermint. Or ginger and cardamom pods to make spicy ginger tea.

Once you are proficient in making powdered spice, you can also apply this technique to herbs. Basil, rosemary, thyme and sage are some of the most popular herbs.

The possibilities are endless. Use powdered spices to give your beverages extra flavour or to enhance the taste of dishes such as soups, salads, and pasta.

Do You Know How To Make Curry Paste?

Curry paste contains dried chillies and shallots, galangal roots, lemongrass (kaffir lime leaf), garlic, shrimp paste, sugar and salt. It's a common ingredient in Thai cuisine.

Curry paste is a popular condiment in Southeast Asia. Curry paste can add a distinct flavour to many dishes like curries.

It is easy to make your own at-home recipes! Follow the steps below to make it easy!

Step1 - Prepare Ingredients

  • Before you start this recipe, make sure that all ingredients are prepared.
  • To begin, you will need to peel and chop shallots (about 2 cups). Then chop galangal root into small pieces (about 3 inches long) and set aside.
  • Next, slice four garlic cloves. Lemongrass stems about 1/2 inch thick should be removed and finely chopped.
  • Then, crush dried red chilli peppers (about four tablespoons) and remove the seeds (optional).
  • Next, cut kaffir lime leaves into thin strips (about 5 inches long). Remove the white part of the stem and set it aside.
  • Once the shrimp paste has been drained, rinse it and then coarsely crush it.
  • Finally, measure the sugar and salt.

Step2 - Grind Ingredients

  • Grind all ingredients together until smooth.
  • The texture should be very similar to peanut butter.
  • Note: if you want to reduce the amount of oil in the dish, you can substitute some water for some of the oil.

Step3 - Add Coconut Milk

  • Mix coconut milk with the mixture.
  • Slowly add coconut milk to ensure that the paste doesn't become too sticky.
  • If you prefer less spice, add less chillies to the recipe and more galangalroot.
  • You can make it more spicy by adding more chilies and less galangal root. The final result should taste good to you.

Step4 -- Serve

  • Serve with your favourite foods.
  • Enjoy!
