Ginger is well-known for its ability to relieve nausea and stimulate digestion. It may even help prevent migraines. In addition, ginger aids in reducing muscle spasms, relieving joint pains, and treating arthritis.

Ginger is often fresh in Thailand. It is then cut into thin strips and dried. From Asian markets, ginger root can be bought in cans and jars.


What Thai spice should I use to cook Thai food in my own kitchen?

You will need to know five key spices in order to make authentic Thai food at your home: cayenne pepper, coriander seeds and turmeric. Each ingredient plays a crucial role in the creation delicious dishes.

Cinnamon adds sweetness, while black pepper brings out savoury flavours. Coriander seeds give curry powder its distinctive yellow colour, while turmeric adds a spicy kick. Cayenne peppers heat up the dish, while cilantro adds flavor and freshness. A final ingredient is cinnamon, which adds depth and complexity.

You can buy each of these spices in your local grocery shop, or you can order them online.


What's the difference of curry and curried

There is no difference in spelling. Both terms refer to the exact same thing: An Indian dish that combines meat and vegetables with different seasonings.

Curry comes from the Hindi word kari meaning "to rub." This term refers to how the spice mixture is rubbed onto the food. Curried foods should be cooked until they are golden brown.

Although curried dishes used to be reserved for special occasions, today they are enjoyed all over India. They include chicken, beef and lamb as well as fish, vegetables and rice.

Plain white rice is often served with curried dishes. The most common accompaniments are raita (a yogurt paste) and chutney.


Almond Flour vs. Almond Meal: What's the Difference?

An almond meal, which can be used as an almond flour substitute, is more versatile than other almond flours because it can be used for baking and cooking, as well as making nut free dishes.

Almond flour might also contain gluten, which can make it hard to digest. It's important to avoid gluten-free diets if your condition is celiac.

Although almond flour isn’t considered to be a “superfood”, it is rich in healthy fats and fibre.

The nutritional benefits of the almond meal include magnesium, copper, iron, zinc, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, and vitamins A, B1 (thiamin), and C. In addition, it provides 25 percent of the daily value for folate, 20 percent for niacin, 15 percent for pantothenic acid, and 5 percent for riboflavin.

Almond flour is made with almonds. Almond oils contain polyunsaturated essential fatty acids. Both help to lower LDL (bad), and increase HDL levels.

Almond flour also contains antioxidants like phenolics and flavonoids. These compounds are effective in preventing oxidative damages caused by free radicals.

The Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry published a study that found almond flour to have the same antioxidant activity as blueberries, cranberries and pomegranates.

Almond flour is commonly sold together with almondmilk, which has additional nutrients.


What is the Thai use for mint?

Thai cuisine has the most widespread use of lime-leaf mint (Mentha certvina).

Its mild, lemony taste adds freshness and zest to dishes. Other spices such as lemongrass, galangal, garlic and coriander are also frequently added to enhance the flavour of Thai dishes.

Mint is versatile and can be used both in sweet and savoury recipes. To achieve authentic Thai flavours, it is important to use the right spices, herbs and aromatics.

Yes. It is an ingredient in many dishes, including Pad See Ew (Thai fried rice), from eggs cooked in coconut milk.

Paprika can been traced back to Ancient Greece over 5,000 years ago. The Hungarian language means "pepper" and the word "paprika".

How to store cooking spices?

How to store cooking spices in a way that maximizes their performance. First, let's understand how foods are stored.

Keep spices out of direct sunlight as light will reduce their flavor. This is caused by oxidation, which happens when oxygen and organic compounds combine like spices.

To prevent oxidation of spices, keep them in dark cupboards. Spices lose their flavor quickly if these conditions don't exist.

You can preserve the flavor of spices by keeping them in sealed jars, away from direct sunlight.

To make flavoured drinks, you can add herbs or spices to water. For example, mix two teaspoons of ground cinnamon with 1/2 cup of warm water and stir well. Add a squeeze of lemon juice and serve immediately.

Add dried herbs and spices to soups. Simply sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over the dish and sit for 5-10 minutes before serving.

As snacks, leftover cooked vegetables and fruits can be added into your favourite recipes.

You can enjoy the fresh flavours of fresh herbs or spices by chopping them up and adding them to food while they are still hot. You can also freeze spices and herbs by placing them in muffin cups or ice trays and freezing them. Once frozen, place them in freezer bags or zip-top bags.
