Sliders are a delicious, easy way to feed a crowd. They feature beef and pork patties that are tucked inside Hawaiian rolls with American cheese. These are a great way to feed a large group without much effort because they're easy to make and can be made in bulk. This easy Slider Recipe is one of my favorites for parties, tailgates or potlucks. Once you make it, it will become your favorite!

What are Sliders?

In this case, sliders are tiny hamburgers. In the past, slider patties were made from beef balls that had been grilled with onions chopped. In this recipe we bake a giant patty and mix raw onions with the meat. The patty is then sandwiched between two uncut Hawaiian rolls, with a lot of cheese. We bake the sliders again, until the cheese has melted, then we cut them into 12 sliders. Easy!

Slider Ingredients

Sliders can be made in many different ways, but they all share the same basic ingredients: meat, bread and cheese. Although you can be creative with the toppings, I have kept it simple. Here's what you need to make easy and quick Sliders.

  • Pork and Ground Beef:Ground pork is a third the price of beef ground, so I used the same amount of each to make the patties. You can use all ground beef or all ground pork, as the directions will not change. Pork is white meat so these patties are lighter in color than traditional burger patties.
  • Onions are optional but add bulk and depth to the patties. Keep them out if you don't like them.
  • Burger seasoning: This mix of spices adds a deep flavor to meat. You can use your favorite seasoning mix or our Homemade Burger Seasoning. Use up to one teaspoon of salt, and a few cracked black peppercorns.
  • American Cheese slices offer superior melting and are more affordable. You can, of course, substitute them with any melting cheese you prefer.
  • Hawaiian rolls: This is the bun for our sliders. The sheets are uncut, which simplifies the cooking process. The rolls can be substituted with your favorite hamburger roll, but the yield will be different and the assembly process will also change.
  • Everything bagel seasoning:This adds flavor and texture to slider buns. Sesame seeds or poppy seeds can be substituted for the Everything Bagel Seasoning. You can omit this ingredient.

What to serve with sliders

Sliders go well with potato-based dishes like French Fries or Sweet Potato Fries. You can also pair them with Potato Salad. You can also pair them with Cole Slaw or Baked Beans. For the ultimate indulgence try Nacho Cheese Dip. You should try a nacho-cheese-dipped Slider before you judge it.

How to store sliders

If you have any leftovers, remove them from the bun. Refrigerate the meat and bread separately in airtight containers. Reheat in individual sheet pans at 350degF when ready to eat. Warm up the bread in the oven for a couple of minutes, and then pull out the patties as soon as they begin to steam. Next, assemble.

Ingredients

  • 1 white onion, diced $0.60
  • 1 lb. ground beef $6.49
  • 1 lb. ground pork $2.27
  • 1 Tbsp burger seasoning $0.33
  • 1/2 tsp salt $0.03
  • 6 slices American cheese $0.90
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls $4.79
  • 4 Tbsp butter, melted $0.50
  • 2 tsp everything bagel seasoning $0.20

Instructions

  • Set an oven rack at the center of your stove and heat it up to 375degF. Line a baking sheet with a sheet-pan rack. Add the pork and ground beef to a large bowl. Add the onions, salt and burger seasoning and mix lightly.
  • Add a parchment sheet to your workspace. Then, shape the meat into a rectangle of 12 x 16. Place the parchment with the meat on top of the sheet pan rack.
  • Then, place another sheet pan over the top. Bake the meat for 20 minutes, or until it reaches a temperature of 150degF.
  • Slice the rolls lengthways. Brush the rolls with two tablespoons of butter.
  • Remove the top sheet pan once the meat reaches a temperature of 150degF. Remove the sheet pan with the meat from the oven. The top layer of parchment will reveal the large meat patty.
  • Remove the meat using two large spatulas from the parchment paper. The large meat patty can be placed on the bottom of the rolls.
  • Layer the six slices of American Cheese in one layer.
  • Place the top roll on top of the cheese and meat. Brush the tops of the rolls with the remaining 2 tablespoons butter. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of Everything But The Bagel seasoning.
  • Cook for 15 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the bread toasts. Cool for a couple of minutes and then slice into sliders. Enjoy the oohs, ahhs, and applause at your party!

How to Make Sliders: Step by Step Pictures

Set a rack in the middle of your oven, and pre-heat it to 375degF. Line a baking sheet with a sheet-pan rack. Add the pork and ground beef to a large bowl. Add the onions, salt and burger seasoning and mix lightly.

Cook for 15 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the bread toasts. Cool for a couple of minutes and then slice into sliders. Enjoy the oohs, ahhs, and applause at your party!

Do you know how to make curry paste?

Curry paste includes dried chillies (scallions, shallots), galangal root and lemongrass as well as kaffir lime leaves, garlic, shrimp pastes, sugar, salt and sometimes coconut milk. It's used extensively in Thai cuisine.

Curry paste is a popular condiment in Southeast Asia. This unique flavor can be added to many dishes including curries, soups and stir-fries as well as rice dishes, noodles, desserts, and rice dishes.

It's very simple to make this at home. Follow our step by step guide below.

Step1 - Prepare Ingredients

  • Before you start this recipe, make sure that all ingredients are prepared.
  • To begin, you will need to peel and chop shallots (about 2 cups). Then chop galangal root into small pieces (about 3 inches long) and set aside.
  • Next, cut four garlic cloves into pieces. Finely chop the lemongrass stems to about 1/2 inch in thickness.
  • Next, crush the dried red chilli peppers (4 tablespoons) and then remove the seeds (optional).
  • Next, slice the kaffir lime leaves in thin strips of about 5 inches. Take out the white part and place it in a bowl.

  • Blend all ingredients together until smooth.
  • The texture should be very similar to peanut butter.
  • Note: if you want to reduce the amount of oil in the dish, you can substitute some water for some of the oil.

Step3 - Add Coconut Milk

  • Add coconut milk to the mixture, and mix well.
  • Slowly add coconut water to prevent the paste from getting too sticky.
  • For a milder taste, use less chillies and more galangal roots.
  • For a more spicy taste, increase the amount of chillies and reduce the use of galangal root. You should enjoy the final product.

  • Serve with your favourite foods.
