This delicious, crispy cauliflower recipe is super simple, made with a few spices and is Keto, Whole 30, and Vegan friendly.

PErfect Cauliflower Steaks Recipe

What exactly are Cauliflower Steaks ?

Cauliflower Steaks made their way on the foodie scene to offer a delicious alternative to vegetarians who were craving more options. The cauliflower is lightly seasoned, tender on the inside, crispy on the outside, thick, and delicious – much like a traditional beef steak.

These cauliflower steaks are oven-roasted and in under an hour ready to DEVOUR!

My sister-in-law is a vegetarian and I honestly have made her a cheese omelet and eggplant parm an embarrassing amount of times. I was so happy to come across this recipe. Not only did she love it, my picky toddler asked for more! The crispiness on the outside somewhat disguises that it is a veggie.

So even if you don’t normally like cauliflower, these Cauliflower Steaks will change your mind.

Why You Will LOVE Cauliflower Steaks

I am obsessed with this recipe because it is RIDICULOUSLY easy. Not only does it require a handful of ingredients, the prep time is just fifteen minutes, and you’re using one pan. One pan = fewer dishes!

Since cauliflower is highly nutritious, packed with vitamins and filling, these hearty Cauliflower Steaks can be served as the main.

Pair it with Oven Roasted Lemon Greek Potatoes or Dairy Free Mashed Potatoes, which are both vegan/vegetarian, and you have a full vegan meal!

You can also make it your healthy, go-to side dish just like Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Easy Asparagus.

Are Cauliflower Steaks Healthy?

First of all, the recipe is vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, Whole 30, Paleo, and Keto-friendly! You’re Welcome!

Cauliflower Steaks are healthy! Cauliflower is a nutrient-dense, fiber-rich, low-carb cruciferous vegetable. It is rich in vitamin C, which is great for your immune system, as well as vitamin K and choline.

These veggies can also help reduce inflammation and the risk of cancer and heart disease. Cauliflower also contains sulforaphane, which can slow the aging process.

Ready to Roast?

Roasting is my favorite method for a ton of reasons.

  • When you roast veggies they keep their nutrients and fiber.
  • You don’t need to add many other ingredients to make something delicious. Just like these Cauliflower Steaks, using olive oil and a few spices leave you with something delicious.
  • How amazing is it to set it & forget it? Set the temperature (usually around 400 for perfect crispness), pop your pan with veggies in & go about making the rest of your meal or one of the other 900 things you have to do.
  • Last, but not least, did I mention ONE PAN?? I love cooking, but I hate washing dishes.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 medium heads of cauliflower
  • Olive oil spray preferably extra-virgin
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander

Roast

Bake until golden and tender, flipping once to ensure even cooking and seasoning. Enjoy

Serve these hearty cauliflower steaks as a nutritious and satisfying addition to your meal.

Devour!

FAQs & Tips

How to Make Ahead and Store?

If you want to make this ahead, prepare it as normal and allow it to cool completely before refrigerating. I highly recommend that you reheat it in a hot oven (not the microwave) to keep that crispy texture.
You can store it in the fridge, in an airtight container for up to three days or in the freezer for up to three months.

How thick should I cut the steaks?

Cut a large head of cauliflower into quarters, then into half-inch slices. This gives them a flat side and helps cook evenly.

Can i make it in an air fryer?

Yes! Cook at 375 in the basket for 10 – 15 minutes or until your desired crispiness is reached.

Spice it up

Switch out the spices to make the cauliflower go with your meal or craving. Add chili powder, onion powder, and cumin, and top with a squeeze of lime. I love to use pumpkin spice seasoning in the autumn months for an amazingly fragrant dish.

Spread em out

Be sure to spread the “steaks” evenly on the pan. If they are over lapping they may not cook properly. Also, take advantage of the flat sides. This will make them browned and caramelized and oh-so delicious.

Serving Suggestions

As I mentioned, these Cauliflower Steaks can be a simple side dish or main course.

Having a summer BBQ? Use this recipe in place of fries to serve next to our Black Bean Burger or these mouthwatering Cajun Burgers with Sweet Potato Buns.

For a more formal affair, impress your guests with Cauliflower Steaks paired with this delicious Goat Cheese Stuffed Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Blueberry Salsa

If you want these “steaks” as your main, choose any flavorful sides or something saucy to go with them. I love them with Maple Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Sweet Potatoes and Bacon and the oven will already be hot. So easy.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium heads of cauliflower
  • Olive oil spray preferably extra-virgin
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander

Instructions

  • Begin by preheating your oven to 425°F. Prepare a large, rimmed baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper and give it a light coating of olive oil spray to prevent sticking.
  • Clean the cauliflower heads under water. Carefully remove the outer leaves and trim the stem end. You need to ensure the core remains intact to hold the steaks together. Cut the cauliflower into 3/4-inch-thick steaks. You can expect to get about three good steaks from each head (you can roast the smaller pieces alongside the steaks).

Frequently Asked Questions

What herb is best for healing?

Herbs are a fantastic way to help heal our bodies. Herbal medicine has been used since ancient times and continues to grow today. There are thousands of herbs known to cure various ailments.

Some herbs are excellent for treating colds and flu, while others can treat anxiety, depression, arthritis, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and more.

There are also herbal remedies for skin care, hair loss, weight loss, sexual health, energy, sleep, digestion, and much more.

The list goes on and on. But one herb stands above them all regarding its ability to heal. That herb is called aloe vera.

Aloe Vera is considered to be the world's most powerful healer. For centuries it has helped people heal themselves naturally without any side effects.

It's incredible how well aloe vera works. It's even better than prescription drugs and surgery.

In addition to its natural healing properties, aloe vera is highly versatile and can be used in almost any area of life, including food, beauty products, and household cleaning supplies.

You may not realize this, but aloe vera contains hundreds of active compounds, which include vitamins A, C, E, B1, B2, B3, B6, folic acid, calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, copper, sulfur, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, chloride, fluoride, iodine, selenium and more.

These nutrients are essential for human body functions such as cell growth, metabolism, immune system support, healthy bones and teeth, healthy blood pressure levels, healthy eyesight, healthy cardiovascular systems, healthy digestive systems, healthy lungs, healthy nervous system, healthy reproductive organs, healthy skin, and healthy libido.

What is the difference between basil and oregano?

Both of these herbs belong to the Lamiaceae family. They share similar flavors, but the differences are obvious.

Oregano is more pungent than basil. It also adds an extra layer of flavor to foods.

Basil leaves are smaller than oregano leaves. They are also softer and less aromatic.

The two herbs are often used interchangeably. Although they are quite similar, each has its distinctive qualities.

What herb heals all wounds?

The answer to this question varies depending on the type and severity of the wound.

The herb comfrey (also known as knitbone) has long been used for its healing properties, particularly for skin injuries such as cuts and bruises.

Studies suggest that comfrey contains allantoin, which helps speed up healing. Other herbs commonly used for healing wounds include calendula, plantain, and yarrow. These herbs help to reduce inflammation, stop bleeding and speed up the skin's healing process.

In addition to herbs, honey has also been found to have powerful antimicrobial properties that can help prevent wound infection.

Herbs for wound care is an age-old practice that continues to be used today. However, herbs should not replace medical treatment, and always consult your doctor before using herbs for healing. With the right herbs, you can give your body the support it needs to heal naturally.

Is basil good for kidneys?

The answer is yes. Basil is an excellent food for kidney health. It contains potassium which helps reduce high blood pressure. It also contains vitamin K, which is essential for bone strength. As well as this, it is rich in antioxidants which help protect against heart disease.

Basil is great for digestion too. It contains digestive enzymes that break down protein and carbohydrates. This makes it easier to absorb nutrients from your meals.

Basil is a wonderful addition to any diet. Try sprinkling some over pasta dishes, salads, soups, and sandwiches. Or add little stir-fried vegetables, chicken, fish, meat, and tofu.

It's delicious in pesto sauce and fresh in salad dressings. You'll find many recipes online where you can learn how to cook with basil.

Try making basil oil by adding a few drops of pure olive oil to a jar filled with chopped basil leaves. Let it steep overnight, and then strain out the leaves. Use the oil as a massage oil or rub it onto your skin.

It will leave your skin soft and smooth.

How do you make medicinal herbs?

There are many different methods to make herbs into medicinal products. The most common method is to dry the herbs in a warm, dark location before grinding them into a powder or extracting their essential oils. This can be accomplished by hanging herbs upside down in bunches, laying herbs on a drying screen, or using a food dehydrator.

Once dried and ground, herbs can be stored in airtight containers for future use. Other herbs may require special preparation, such as infusing herbs into oil or vinegar, making tinctures with alcohol, or distilling herbs to create essential oils.

Learning the correct techniques for preparing herbs can help ensure that they retain their medicinal properties and potency for optimal health benefits. Using fresh herbs is usually best, but herbs can also be grown in a pot or garden and harvested when they are mature. Herbs can be purchased at health food stores, online retailers, and specialty shops.

No matter where herbs come from, the preparation techniques remain the same; drying herbs in a warm location followed by grinding or extracting the essential oils. You can make your medicinal herbs with the right herbs and preparation techniques.

When making herbal preparations, it is essential to remember that herbs can vary in potency, so always dilute herbs before use or follow the directions on any product label. Additionally, herbs are best used fresh, as many of their beneficial components degrade over time.

Following safety guidelines and paying attention to the potency of herbs can help ensure that you get the most benefit from your herbs. With a bit of practice and preparation, anyone can make therapeutic herbs with medicinal properties. Remember that herbs should never replace any medical advice or treatments prescribed by a doctor. Always consult a licensed healthcare professional before using herbs medicinally.

What spices assist in recovery?

The use of spices to aid in healing is an ancient practice dating back centuries. Many spices have been used for their medicinal properties, including ginger, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, turmeric, and garlic. Each of these spices has unique benefits that can help with various health issues.

Ginger is known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects and can help reduce inflammation in the body. It can also be used to soothe an upset stomach or relieve nausea.

Cinnamon has been found to have a wide range of medicinal properties, including antiseptic, antifungal, antimicrobial, and antioxidant agents. It is even believed to help regulate blood sugar levels, making it beneficial in helping prevent diabetes.

Cayenne pepper has been used for centuries as a natural pain reliever and anti-inflammatory agent. It is also thought to increase circulation and metabolism, which can help the body heal more quickly.

Turmeric is an herb that contains curcumin, a powerful antioxidant. Curcumin is beneficial in treating various conditions, from arthritis and neurological disorders to cancer.

Garlic is packed with nutrients and has many health benefits. It can help reduce inflammation, act as antibiotic, lower cholesterol levels, and even boost the immune system.

These spices are all-natural ways to help the body heal and improve overall health. They can all be easily incorporated into food or taken in supplement form for convenience. While spices alone won't cure any ailments, they can play an essential role in aiding healing.

In addition to spices, there are also other natural remedies for healing, such as herbs, essential oils, and homeopathy. Research has shown that many of these remedies can be effective in treating a variety of conditions. If you're looking for an alternative to conventional medicine, consider incorporating some of these natural remedies into your health routine.

What is the difference between herbs and spices?

Herbs are used for cooking, and spices are used for seasoning.

Herbs have more intense flavors and can be used to cook dishes, while spices can bring out the flavor of foods without altering the taste.

Spices can also be added to food during preparation, such as curry. Spices may be bought individually, or whole packages may be purchased. There are many spices, including black pepper, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, garlic, ginger, nutmeg, oregano, paprika, parsley, rosemary, sage, salt, thyme, turmeric, vanilla extract, etc.

The best way to ensure that you are selecting the right spice for your dish is to read the label carefully. If there is an ingredient list, look for "spice" among the ingredients. A common mistake cooks make is buying too much of a particular spice because they do not realize how little they need.

There are a few basic rules to follow when choosing which herb or spice to use. For example, most herbs are fresh, whereas spices tend to last longer. Also, herbs are generally found in small quantities, while spices come in larger containers. Finally, most herbs are usually sold loose (or ground), while spices are packaged in jars or cans.

As long as you are careful to select the correct herbs or spices, you will find that adding them to recipes makes preparing meals easier. After all, spices add flavor to various dishes, while herbs can help improve the appearance and aroma of food.

How To

How do I know if my herbs have been treated with pesticides?

If you see a pesticide label on your herbs, the plants were sprayed with chemicals before being sold to you.

These chemicals harm human health and could cause cancer or other serious illnesses.

Unfortunately, this practice has become common around the globe. Many countries allow farmers to spray their crops with pesticides without proper regulation.

In order not to harm themselves, consumers should always ask about the source of their produce. If it comes from a farmer near you, it’s safe to assume it was not treated with pesticides.

However, there are still ways to ensure that your herbs are free from harmful chemicals.

However, if you want to ensure that your herbs aren’t contaminated, you can purchase organic herbs directly from the farm.

This way, you won’t need to worry about the safety of your herbs. You can trust that they weren’t exposed to harmful chemicals.
