Are grilled shrimps the epitome of summer foods?

It would make me so happy to have these little veggie boats, and eat all the food I want.

I have to add that these are SO GOOD. I'm not a low carb person, but I LOVE them. Grilled zucchini also has a summery feel. The lemon zest and herbaciousness are also a great addition. This makes me not even a tiny bit angry that there aren't any carbs.

You could still make air fryer roasted potatos for the side

Shrimp Zucchini Boats

You may think it is difficult to prepare a recipe that is unique, flavorful and delicious. NOPE! This recipe is easy to make and tastes great! Here's how:
Heat
Place the grill basket onto the BBQ and heat it up on high for 10 minutes.
Prepare Zucchinis
Cut your zucchinis lengthwise, and scrape some of the interior to create a boat. Leave some of the zucchini in as it will soften during cooking. Sprinkle some salt and cayenne pepper on the zucchinis and brush them with olive oil.
Toss
Place the sliced asparagus and chopped onions in a large bowl. Pour the oil over the asparagus, then add the garlic and season it with salt and pepper. Toss them to coat evenly.
Grill the Veggies
Reduce the heat to medium high and place the asparagus and onions in the grill basket. Place the zucchinis cut-side down on the grill, next to the basket. Allow the vegetables to cook for about 10 minutes until they are charred. Flip the zucchinis half-way and stir the vegetables at the same. Once the vegetables are cooked, cover them and put them aside.
Rice the Cauliflower
Place the cauliflower in a large food processer and pulse until it resembles rice. Place the cauliflower in a large bowl that can be heated in the microwave for five to six minutes on high.
Grill the Shrimp
Reheat the grill to high. Pour oil, honey and pepper over the shrimp, making sure to coat them evenly. The shrimp should be cooked until they are nicely charred.

Add the chopped onion and asparagus to the cauliflower rice. Add the remaining olive oil and fresh lemon juice. Sprinkle the mixture with salt and pepper, and spoon it into the zucchinis. Add the lemon zest and shrimp to the top. Enjoy this shrimp zucchini and EAT it!

How to Grill Shrimp

Place your shrimp directly on the grill after you have tossed them in oil, pepper, and salt. They should be cooked until nicely charred, and they become opaque. Flip them half way through grilling. The shrimp has never tasted better!

Ingredients

Zucchini

  • 2 large Zucchini Squashes
  • 1 teaspoon Olive Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cayenne Pepper

Cauliflower rice salad:

  • 1 small onion Roughly sliced, about 2 cups
  • 1 large bunch Asparagus
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil Plus 1 teaspoon, divided
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Minced
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 2 cups Cauliflower Florets Cut into bite sized pieces
  • 3 tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 3 tablespoons Fresh Basil Minced

Shrimps:

  • 1/2 pound Fresh Shrimp Peeled and deveined
  • 1 teaspoon Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Cayenne Pepper
  • Lemon Zest For garnish

Instructions

  • Place the grill basket on your BBQ, and heat it up for 10 minutes at High.
  • Slice the zucchini lengthwise, and scoop some of the interior to make a boat. Keep some on the edges, as the zucchini will soften once it is grilled. Sprinkle salt and cayenne on the zucchini and brush with olive oil. Set aside.
  • Toss chopped onions and asparagus in a large bowl with oil, garlic, and salt and pepper.
  • Place the asparagus and onion into the grill basket. Lower the heat to medium. Place the zucchinis cut-side down directly on the grill. The vegetables should be cooked until they are nicely charred with grill marks, which takes about 10 minutes. Turn the zucchini in half and toss the vegetables around. Cover the vegetables and remove them from the grill. Set aside until you are ready to use.
  • While the vegetables are cooking, place the cauliflower in a large food processer and process it until it looks like rice. Place in a large bowl, and microwave on high for 5-6 mins until the cauliflower is tender. If you prefer, you can steam the cauliflower using the oven.
  • Reheat the grill to high. Sprinkle the pepper, salt, honey and oil over the shrimp, making sure that the spices are distributed evenly. Place the shrimp on the grill, and cook for about 5 minutes until they are opaque and nicely charred. Flip halfway through.

To Serve:

  • Add the onion and asparagus to the cauliflower rice. Add the basil, lemon juice, and remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Place the shrimp on the top of the mixture. Garnish the dish with lemon zest.
  • DEVOUR.

Notes

If you use small zucchinis, there will be a lot left over. If you only have small zucchinis I would recommend using 2 or more OR halving the filling.
If you are not able to handle the heat, reduce the cayenne to 1/4 teaspoon.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the most important flavours in Thai cuisine?

Thai cuisine includes several distinct regional cuisines. These include Northern, Central, Southern, Eastern, Western, and Northeastern Thai food. Each region has its distinctive flavour profile.

The most common flavours in Thai food are sweet, salty, sour, spicy, bitter, pungent, and nutty.

Thais appreciate sweetness. It makes Thai food taste better. Thai cuisine relies heavily on sweet ingredients, such as coconut milk (gula melaka), and palm sugar.

Sourness is also very popular in Thailand. Sour foods are often served alongside hot dishes. This helps to balance the heat.

Thai food also includes spicy food. Spices such as chilli pepper, galangal, ginger root, and garlic are used extensively in Thai recipes.

Can Thai food contain cumin?

One of the most popular spices used in Thai cuisine is cumin. To create Thai dishes with unique flavours, cumin is often combined in various combinations with garlic ginger, coriander, coriander, or other spices.

Stir-fries, soups, curries, and salads are all popular uses of cumin in Thai cuisine. Additionally, cumin is sometimes added to marinades, dressings and sauces. Although cumin is the main ingredient in Thai food, there are other spices that can be used.

You can add flavours such as fish sauce, garlic ginger, chili peppers, and ginger to the mix. The chefs can create signature dishes by mixing these spices in different quantities.

Cumin is an essential ingredient in Thai cooking. It is used in many Thai traditional dishes. This spice gives Thai food a distinct and complex flavor. Cumin adds its distinct spices to many popular dishes, making it an essential part of Thai cuisine.

How To

How to decide what spices to buy?

It is important to know how you can choose the right spices and herbs to cook. There are hundreds to choose from, so where should you start when choosing the right ones for your pantry?

There are three main factors to consider when choosing spices: flavour profile, shelf life, and cost. There are many flavour profiles that can be used depending on how you cook meat, poultry, fish and vegetables as well as beans, grains, pastas, eggs, bread, cakes, and other foods. Once you have chosen a category, you can narrow down your choices by taking into account these differences.

Shelf lives vary greatly too. Some spices can last forever while others go bad quickly. Cayenne pepper can last for many years, while oregano only loses its potency in two months. Also, the price. Spices can cost anywhere from $1 per tablespoon up to $100 per ounce. This means that spice prices can vary widely.

It's also important to determine if organic or nonorganic ingredients you prefer. Organic products are safer for the environment and contain less pesticides and chemicals than their conventional counterparts. But they can often be more expensive so make sure you weigh the benefits against their costs.

Shopping online is the best way to ensure you pick the right spices for your kitchen. Online retailers offer detailed information about each product, including reviews, pricing, ratings, and ingredient lists.

After narrowing down your options, you can place an order directly with the retailer. Once you receive your items, store them safely in airtight containers away from heat and light.
