This recipe will show you how to cook juicy and plump chickens on the stove. This chicken is convenient and delicious. It's perfect for weeknight dinners.
Table of Contents
The chicken breast is an essential in the kitchen. Chicken breast is the first thing that cooks reach for when they are in doubt. Why? The reason? It's healthy, can be used for a variety of recipes and is versatile.
On the stove is one of them. This is not the first thing that comes to your mind, but it should. It is so simple and doesn't depend on the weather (barbecuing under rainy skies is not for me). You can cook it in olive oil and add your favorite spices.
Once you master this recipe, there's no limit to what you can do. Combine the chicken with a variety of vegetables and starches, then cover it in sauces and sprinkle herbs on its crispy brown skin.
This recipe is a winner!
- The ingredients for this recipe are simple and will make it a delicious meal to serve at the weekend.
- Garlic, rosemary and olive oil are used to flavor the dish.
- This recipe is perfect for those who want a quick, flavorful meal that is packed with protein.
- If you're looking for a quick and easy way to get juicy meat with a crispy brown skin, this stovetop method will do the trick.
Is this Stovetop Chicken Healthy?
Chicken breast is an excellent source for protein and very healthy. How is chicken cooked and prepared is the most important question. The answer in this case is positive. The chicken will retain its nutrients if it is cooked at medium heat. The chicken is not deep-fried, nor is it coated with butter. A small amount of olive is used instead, which is a healthy fat. The herbs and seasonings are all natural (no pre-made mixes with sodium added!). The only negative health aspect is leaving the skin on. The skin adds flavor, and it is more succulent than removing the skin.
Ingredients
Some of the best recipes are simple. You can try:
- 2 medium chicken breasts without skin
- Extra virgin olive oil 2 tablespoons
- 2 crushed garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp chopped rosemary
- Salt and black pepper
- 1 tsp of paprika powder
Instrucciones
Season
Season the chicken breasts using salt, pepper, paprika, and chopped rosemary. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon olive oil on the chicken breasts and add the crushed garlic.
Cook
Once the oil is hot, add the chicken breasts skin side down. When the oil is hot enough, place the skin-side down chicken breasts in the pan. Reduce heat to MED/HIGH. Cook the chicken for 5 minutes or until the skin becomes crispy.
Flip
Cook for 5 more minutes. Cook until the chicken is cooked. When your meat thermometer registers 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
Rest
Remove the chicken and let it rest in the skillet for 5 minutes. Then slice.
DEVOUR!
Variations
Spicy Cajun chicken:Go for a spicy kick with Cajun seasoning, or mix your own cayenne, paprika and garlic powder with onion powder. The seasoning will add a lot of flavor and heat to the chicken.
Asian Chicken: Marinate chicken breasts with soy sauce, honey, garlic and ginger. Sesame oil is used to cook the chicken and sprinkled sesame seeds on top for a different texture.
Smoky Chipotle chicken:Who said smoking was bad for you? Add smoked paprika or chipotle powder to the seasoning mix and give the chicken a rich flavor.
Honey Mustard Chicken Prepare a marinade with honey, Dijon Mustard, minced garlic and a splash apple cider vinegar. Marinate the chicken at least 30 mins before cooking.
Serving Suggestions
Chicken goes with almost anything. You can pair it with the following FFF sides:
Crispy Sweet Potato Fries Baked in the Oven Why not make these sweet potatoes fries using the oven? They're healthy, since they are baked and not fried.
Grated Raw Cauliflower Detox Salad: This is another healthy option for a side, as it's gluten/grain/dairy/sugar-free but still brings the bold flavor. It's also whole30, vegan and paleo friendly!
Air Fry Zucchini: While the stovetop is busy, why not fire up your air fryer to make some zucchini chips?
FAQs
This is not recommended. Covering your pan will cause steam to be created and the chicken won't sear if you do this. To achieve a crispy and brown chicken skin, we want to pan-sear it.
Use your imagination when it comes to seasoning. You can use any herb like thyme, sage or other. To create an interesting seasoning, use a mix of spices, such as one that combines mustard powder, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder.
Before adding the chicken breast, make sure that your pan has been preheated to HIGH. If the pan isn't hot enough, the chicken breasts will stick. Use a heavy pan, such as cast iron, for the best results.
How to store Stove-Top Chicken Breast
Let the chicken cool down completely. Wrap the breasts individually in plastic or store them in an airtight container. Store them in resealable bags. They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to four days. You can reheat the chicken in an oven, on the stovetop, or using a microwave. It is important that the chicken reaches a temperature of 165degF. Wrap each breast in plastic and store it inside an airtight container or a resealable bag. The chicken should last up to three months.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make Thai food at home using Thai spices?
You will need to know five key spices in order to make authentic Thai food at your home: cayenne pepper, coriander seeds and turmeric. Each ingredient has its own unique flavour profile, and each plays an important role in creating delicious dishes.
Cinnamon brings out the sweetness of black pepper, while white pepper enhances the savoury flavours. Curry powder is given its characteristic yellow colour by turmeric and coriander seed. Cayenne peppers provide heat and cilantro provides freshness. Finally, cinnamon can add depth and complexity in any dish.
Each of these spices can be found at your local grocery, but you may prefer to buy them online.
What are the main spices, condiments, seasonings and herbs used in Thai cuisine?
Thai cuisine is a mixture of Asian influences. Its roots are in India and China as well as Southeast Asia.
Freshness is the most important ingredient in Thai food. It is easier to get the best flavour from ingredients if they are picked earlier and cooked quickly. This is why meat, fish, vegetables, fruits, herbs, nuts, seeds, and grains are often eaten raw and served hot.
Spices and sauces give dishes depth and color. Fresh basil, cilantro, mint, coriander (cilantro), lemongrass, ginger, turmeric, garlic, chillies, chilli paste, soy sauce, tamarind juice, oyster sauce, palm sugar, coconut milk, lime leaves, galangal root, curry powder, shrimp paste, fish sauce, tamarind water, rice vinegar, etc. They are frequently used.
What is the importance and purpose of spices?
A spice is a seasoning used to enhance flavour in food. Spices can be powdered, liquids or oils. They are also known for their versatility and ability to be used as flavours and condiments.
It's a great way of adding variety to your meals by spiceing them up. Numerous spices can be added to dishes for extra flavour and excitement.
It may be that adding a few drops to your bowl of soup makes it more flavorful. Mixing a couple of cayenne peppers in a cup rice can make it even more delicious.
The best way to experiment with spicing recipes is to use fresh ingredients. Buy organic dried herbs. Fresh herbs are more durable than dried herbs.
Certain spices are essential in cooking. However, you may prefer to avoid some. Cinnamon sticks are high in coumarin so you should avoid them if your liver has been affected. Ginger also has coumarin, although it's less concentrated. People who do not have any liver problems are safe.
What spices can be used in Thai cooking
Thai cuisine is famous for its complex flavor profiles. These flavors are created from unique, flavorful spices which create delicious dishes.
Thai cuisine uses common ingredients such as galangal (lemongrass), kaffir lime leaves and chillies.
Each spice contributes to Thai cuisine's distinctive flavour profile. Lemongrass is often used in soups, curries, and stews; galangal adds a slight peppery note to dishes; kaffir lime leaves impart a citrusy aroma; chillies provide a spicy kick; garlic adds a sharp and pungent flavour to dishes; shrimp paste adds an umami depth to food; coriander has a mild, yet fragrant aroma; cumin brings a smoky note to dishes; and turmeric gives food a vibrant yellow hue.
These spices work together to create unique flavour profiles for Thai cuisine. Chefs can create delicious and aromatic dishes by using a variety of spices. You can bring Thai flavors to your kitchen by stocking up on these spices.

How To
How to store spices for cooking?
I'll show you how to store spices properly for best results. First, we must understand how food is stored.
Because spice's flavour is diminished by light exposure, it should be stored in airtight containers. This is due to oxidation which occurs when oxygen combines with organic compounds such as those found in spices.
To avoid oxidation, spice should be kept in dark cupboards. Spices will lose their flavour quickly if the conditions aren’t met.
Keep spices in airtight containers away from direct sun to preserve their flavour.
You can flavor water by adding herbs and spices. Mix 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon with 1/2 cup of warm liquid and stir. Serve immediately with a squeeze of lemon.
Dry herbs and spices can also be used in soups, stews or casseroles. Sprinkle the spice mixture evenly on the dish, and let it sit for five to ten minutes before you serve.
Remaining cooked vegetables, fruit and meats can be used in your favorite recipes to make snacks.
You can enjoy the fresh flavours of fresh herbs or spices by chopping them up and adding them to food while they are still hot. Also, you can freeze herbs and spice by placing them into ice cube dishes or muffin cups. Once frozen, place them in freezer bags or zip-top bags.
