Are you ready to cook some tasty tilapia? I hope you do! The fish fillets are easy to prepare and taste amazing (if heaven has a taste which I doubt it does). The combination of smoked parsley, fresh garlic and paprika will leave you wanting more.

This zesty tilapia is similar to other seafood favorites I've shared in the past, such as my Baked Honey Cajun Salmon or my Quick-Boiled Shrimp. All of these seafood dishes are quick to prepare and taste great. Let's take a look at the beauty of tilapia today. Let's prepare those grills!

Is Grilled Tilapia a Healthy Food?

Yes, it's true! You would most likely dream about this dish every night if you were a health expert (and, if you weren't, you might recommend it to clients). The tilapia is a protein-rich fish, while the tomatoes provide antioxidants on a plate. Olive oil and capers are the healthy fats that your body requires. Even a squeeze of lemon packs a vitamin C punch!

Ingredients

You can adjust the amount of parsley, paprika and garlic to your taste.

  • 2 tilapia fillets
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes
  • Extra virgin olive oil, 1 tbsp
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tbsp of capers
  • 1 sprig fresh parsley, sliced
  • 1/2 lemon, cut into wedges

Pre-heat your grill to 450degF. Rub the crushed garlic cloves and olive oil on the tilapia filets. Season with salt and pepper. Add smoked paprika.

Grill

Grill the cherry tomatoes and fish fillets for 4 minutes each on both sides, or until they are cooked through.

Transfer the tilapia to a serving plate after removing them from the grill. Garnish the tilapia fillets with lemon wedges, parsley and capers.

Marinate the fish Let the tilapia marinate in olive oil, garlic and paprika for 15 minutes or more before grilling it. This will allow the fish to absorb the flavors.

Watch your grill. Fish cooks very quickly so don't let it sit on there for too long. 4 minutes per side is about right.

Squeeze a lemon Just before serving your fish, squeeze a lemon to add a nice final touch. Anyone with a functioning tongue will be able to detect its subtle zest.

Before applying the fillets, make sure that your grill has been preheated. Make sure that your grill is cleaned; use a grill brush and scrub it well to remove all the gunk.

Can I grill frozen tilapia?

I wouldn't recommend this. The grill will cook them more evenly if you let the meats thaw in the refrigerator overnight.

How can I tell when the tilapia is cooked?

Once they flake easily with a fork you're done. Give the fattest part of your body a poke.

What is the best grill for grilling tilapia on?

Charcoal grills have a smoky taste and are great for smoky food. Gas grills allow you to control the temperature, allowing you to get that perfect cooking level. You decide!

Can I cook on a stovetop with a grill pan if I do not have a barbecue?

If you are cooking inside, a grill pan or a non-stick pan will work fine. Follow the same steps but be sure to keep an eye on the time of cooking.

This article will show you how to store cooking spice for optimal performance. First, it is important to understand the science behind how foodstuffs are stored.

Spices are stored in airtight containers away from the light because exposure to light diminishes their flavour. This is caused by oxidation, which happens when oxygen and organic compounds combine like spices.

To prevent oxidation, spices should be stored in dark cupboards. Spice tends to lose its flavour quickly if these conditions aren't met.

The best way to preserve the flavour of spices is to keep them in airtight jars away from direct sunlight.

To make flavoured drinks, you can add herbs or spices to water. Mix 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon with 1/2 cup of warm liquid and stir. Add a squeeze of lemon juice and serve immediately.

Dried herbs can be added to soups stews, casseroles pasta dishes rice dishes salads and desserts. Place the spice mixture on top of the dish and allow it to rest for 5-10 mins before serving.

Leftover cooked vegetables, fruits and meats, as well as leftover cheese, breads, crackers, cookies or cakes can be added to favorite recipes for snacks.
