Now love yourself and enjoy this one ...

These Cumin-Roasted Carrots have been roasted with coconut oil and spices to make a healthy, easy side dish. They are naturally gluten-free, vegan, and paleo.

Cumin Roasted carrots

You probably think of carrots as savory only when you dip them in ranch.

If you ask me, carrots would be better used in a gluten-free carrot cake or a paleo carrot cake made with almond flour.

WRONG. These savory carrots are so good that they might rival my love of oven-roasted maple bacon Brussels sprouts. Mix them with pomegranate seeds. SO GOOD.

Cumin [TAG101] Benefits

Cumin is one spice that I keep on hand at all times in my kitchen. Cumin is often used in Mexican, African and Indian cuisines, among others. It can add some zing to any dish. I like the Cumin Healthy Chicken stir-fry with Carrot Noodles or Easy Moroccan Chicken recipe. It's also great for its health benefits!

Did You Know That Cumin:

  • Iron is a good source: You're right! One teaspoon of cumin has 1.4mg iron! Cumin is one of the few foods that are so iron-dense.
  • Cumin is known to aid digestion. Fascinating, right? It could increase the activity and speed of digestive enzymes.
  • It contains plant compounds that are beneficial. It is packed with antioxidants!
  • Helps with diabetes, blood cholesterol and food-borne illness.

Cumin Roasted Carrots Ingredients

Please add cumin to vegetables, roast them and serve to me! Adding delicious flavors to vegetables with spices such as cumin makes them more enjoyable! These Indian carrots are my absolute favorite and make an AMAZING side dish to serve at family gatherings during the holidays! You will be hooked by the warmth of the Indian spice and sweetness of the carrots! You will need the following ingredients to make this recipe:

  • Small carrots peeled, sliced
  • Coriander Seeds
  • Cumin Seeds
  • Coconut Oil
  • Garlic Cloves, diced
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Cilantro

How to roast carrots

Roasting vegetables is my favorite method of cooking them. There are many ways to roast and season them for the best flavor! It's easy to roast carrots, like these cumin-flavored carrots! Here's how:

Preheat

Set your oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Let it heat up fully.

Toast

Add the cumin and coriander seeds to a small saucepan on medium heat. (Do not add any cooking oil). They should be lightly toasted (about one minute) but you must keep stirring them as they will burn very quickly. Set aside the crushed toasted seeds.

Combination

Add the crushed seeds, coconut oil and garlic to a large bowl. Mix well until carrots are coated evenly.

Spread out the carrots on a large baking tray, leaving space between each one. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, and bake them. You will need to bake them for 30-40 minutes, and you'll want to turn them every 10-15 minutes.

Devour

Enjoy your carrots with cilantro - my favorite Paleo carrot recipe!

What to serve with Cumin roasted carrots

You can eat these carrots as a healthy snack or as a delicious side dish to a meal. Combine them with a salad and a protein for a tasty dinner. I recommend:

Proteos: Paleo sheet pan Za'atar chicken thighs These carrots would be great with Keto steak and garlic butter mushrooms.

Salad : Harvest Black Rice Salad These carrots would be great with this salad, especially now that the weather is cooling and the holidays are approaching.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are some of the best Thai spices you can find?

Galangal (lemongrass), coriander, turmeric and cinnamon are the best Thai spice. The best spices are clove, cardamom. black peppercorn. fennel seeds. star anise.

Rose petals and bay leaves, pandan leafs, curry leaves, pandan leave, kaffir lemon leaves, vanilla beans. Tamarind pods, lemongrass, basil, mint are other useful spices.

What are the uses of Thai spice?

It's a term we all have heard, even though we don't know what it actually means. We are left wondering why we don't eat more Thai spice when our mouths water.

It's much more than a spice. It's an ingredient that can add flavor and depth in dishes that otherwise would be bland.

While there are thousands of Thai-inspired recipes out there, few of them contain the real thing. Let's talk about how to make sure you add these amazing flavors to your meals.

Thais have been cooking with herbs, spices and other flavors since ancient times. Thai derives its name from the Sanskrit phrase "to cook".

Most Thais like spicy food, even today. This preference is often attributed to the hot weather in Thailand, which makes it difficult to keep warm without something hot to drink. Thais are also more likely to consume chili peppers as compared to Americans or Europeans.

It is a great way to learn more about Thai spices. There will be a large selection of ingredients available including dried chilies (fresh basil leaves), curry paste, ground black pepper, and curry paste.

Also, you may find whole peppercorns.

There are two types of spices in Thai cuisine: dry and wet. The dry spices are usually ground while the wet spices are crushed or pounded finely.

Dry spices are added directly to a dish. You can sprinkle ground red pepper on your chicken soup. To make a paste, wet spices are often mixed with butter or oil.

Wet spices can be used in sauces, dressings, and marinades. Fish sauce, oyster sauces, sesame and sesame olive oils, curry paste and hoisin are some of the most common wet spice options.

To make Thai food at your home, it is important to understand which spices are best with particular ingredients.

For example, red pepper flakes is recommended for beef. If you're using seafood like shrimp, white pepper should be used.

Finally, you can always order online if you don't have access to a good quality Asian market. You will find everything from dried chilies to exotic herbs and spices here.

Next time you're hungry, try one of these delicious Thai recipes!

What spices are used in Thai cooking?

Thai cuisine is known for its complex flavour combinations. These unique flavours are created with flavorful spices, which result in delicious dishes.

Common ingredients in Thai cuisine include galangal and kaffir lime leaves, chilies, garlic, chillies, chillies, ginger, coriander and cumin.

Each one of these spices adds to Thai cuisine’s unique flavour profile. You will often find lemongrass in soups, curries and stews. Galangal gives dishes a peppery flavor; chilies add a spicy kick to dishes. Shrimp paste adds umami depth to dishes. Coriander adds a mild yet fragrant aroma to dishes. Cumin adds a smokey flavour to dishes. Turmeric gives dishes a bright yellow hue.

These spices create complex flavour profiles that are unique to Thai cuisine. Chefs can create delicious and aromatic dishes by using a variety of spices. Stock up on these spices if you want to incorporate the Thai flavours into your cooking.

How To

How do you decide which spices to purchase?

To cook, you'll need to know how to choose the right herbs and spices for your recipes. There are many options available, so how do you choose which ones to add in your pantry?

When selecting spices, you need to be aware of three key factors: cost, shelf life, flavour, and cost. You can choose to use different flavour profiles depending on whether your cooking involves meat, poultry or fish, vegetables and pasta. Once you have chosen a category, you can narrow down your choices by taking into account these differences.

The shelf life of spices can also vary. Some spices will last forever, others may expire very quickly. For example, cayenne pepper lasts for years, whereas oregano loses its potency after two months. Also, the price. The price of spices can vary from $1 per tablespoon to over $100 per ounce. This means that spice prices can vary widely.

It is also important to decide if you prefer organic ingredients or not. Organic products contain fewer chemicals and pesticides than conventional alternatives, making them better for your health and the environment. However, they often cost more, so you'll need to weigh those costs against the benefits.

Online shopping is the best way for you to make sure that you have the right spices in your kitchen. Online retailers provide detailed information on each product, including ingredient lists, pricing, reviews, and ratings.

Once you have narrowed down your choices, you can place an online order with the retailer. Once you have received your items safely store them in an airtight container, away from heat & light.
