Now love yourself and enjoy this one ...
At some point, we've all eaten cold pizza as breakfast (...right? But making pizza specifically for breakfast is another matter. Pizzas can be a great way to enjoy breakfast foods (especially eggs). There are many fun ingredients that you can include. If you are a pizza lover like myself, or you want to spice up your weekend brunch or breakfast routine, you can make a breakfast-pizza using . This is also great for brinner, or breakfast for dinner!
What's On A Breakfast Pizza
Pizza is a very flexible dish. To confidently label this pizza a breakfast, it must have classic breakfast ingredients like bacon and eggs. Rest of the ingredients are up to you! You can use any type of crust (classic, thin, tortilla, crescent, etc.) Use red or white sauces, or leave them out, as you please. You can also use any cheese that you want.
What else can I add?
Here's a simple breakfast pizza that you can make with leftovers. Here are some ideas for toppings or alternatives to your breakfast pizza.
- Bell pepper
- Onion
- Ham
- Spinach
- Tomato
- Feta
- Breakfast sausage
- Hashbrowns
- Mushrooms
You can basically put anything on a pizza for breakfast that you would put in an egg!
Eggs Options
If you don't like runny yolks, scrambled egg works well on breakfast pizzas. You should only cook your eggs halfway until they are still glossy. They will continue to cook in the oven when they are placed on top of the breakfast pizza. You'll get rubbery and dry eggs if you cook them all the way before adding to the pizza.
It's Budget-Friendly
Here are some ways to make your breakfast pizza cost as little as possible if you have a tight budget:
- Making your own pizza dough is the most economical option. The ingredients are simple, and you can make it at home. Our website has several recipes for pizza dough including thin crust, classic pizza, and no yeast. You can par-bake tortillas to get a thin and crispy crust.
- Reduce the amount of cheese on your breakfast pizza by doubling the eggs. You can still enjoy a tasty pizza while reducing the amount of cheese.
- Reduce the meat. The bacon was our second-most expensive ingredient on our breakfast pizza. You could easily reduce the amount of the meat by half and add some extra vegetables! You can also use a cheaper meat like deli sausage or ham.

How to make breakfast pizza - Step by step photos
First, cook 8 oz. In a skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat for a few minutes until it is crispy and brown. Drain the bacon onto a plate lined with paper towels. You can substitute breakfast sausage for the bacon if you prefer.
Pre-heat the oven to about 450oF. Spread about 1/2 cup pizza sauce on the surface of a large piece of pizza dough.
Spread about 2 cups of cheese shredded over the top of the pizza. (We used a mixture of mozzarella and cheddar because we were using leftovers!) I save a few pieces of cheese to sprinkle on top of the egg. Spread four eggs evenly across the surface of the pizza.
Sprinkle any remaining cheese over the bacon and crumble it on the pizza.
Bake the pizza in the oven for 12-15 mins, or until the yolks and whites of the eggs are soft but set. The dough should be golden brown.
Enjoy! Top your pizza with eight slices of sliced green onion.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of organic products for skin?
Organic skincare products do not contain synthetic chemicals like parabens, phthalates, mineral oils, petroleum jelly or petrolatum.
Organic skincare products do not contain artificial colours, fragrances or preservatives.
They also help to preserve healthy skin and prevent premature aging.
These are some standard terms you might come across when shopping for organic items:
- Paraben Free- These are chemicals that help to keep certain cosmetics stable. But, they can also be toxic if taken in large quantities.
- Fragrance-Free means that the product doesn't contain any essential oils or fragrances.
- Cruelty-Free - No animals were harmed during the manufacturing process.
- Natural Ingredients - the ingredient is naturally derived from the plant or animal.
- Vegan/Vegetarian - the ingredients are either vegan or vegetarian.
- Gluten-Free means that the formulation was free of gluten.
- Non-Toxic – The product is free of toxins, carcinogens and other dangerous compounds that can harm your health.
- Biodegradable - the product will break down into harmless components when discarded.
- Pesticide-Free – No pesticides were used in the growing or harvesting of crops.
- GMO-Free means that no ingredient in the product contains genetically modified organisms.
- Certified Organic means that all the ingredients have been grown using methods that protect the soil and water as well as wildlife and farmers.
Are organic foods better for us?
According to the Environmental Working Group's latest report on pesticide residues in foods, organic fruits and vegetables had nearly half the level of pesticides compared with non-organic versions. They discovered that organic apples contained eight more pesticides per gram than non-organic ones, while organic strawberries contained four times as many pesticides.
Another study suggests that organic food can reduce exposure to toxic metals such as lead and mercury. One study revealed that children who ate organic meat had 33 per cent lower blood lead levels than their counterparts who didn't eat organic meats. Another study concluded conventional fish consumption should be stopped by pregnant women because it contains high levels of mercury.
Organic food appears to be more safe than non-organic. Experts recommend fresh vegetables and fruits whenever possible in order to reduce the risk of getting cancer.
Is organic the same as pesticide-free?
Organic food is organic and free of pesticides. This means that organic food is often free of pesticides and fertilizers.
Because organic produce does not contain harmful additives it has more nutrients that conventionally produced foods.
The USDA National Organic Program requires that organic farming practices be followed by farmers.
These guidelines include soil preparation, crop rotation, pest control, water conservation, and harvesting practices.
Organic farming methods are also beneficial for wildlife and natural habitats.
Why should I go organic?
Many health issues have been linked to conventional agriculture, including obesity, diabetes and cancer. Healthy choices must be made when purchasing food.
The Environmental Working Group (EWG) offers the following tips on how to pick "cleaner" food:
As much as possible, purchase organic fruits or vegetables
USDA organic labels are required for meat, poultry, eggs and milk.
Avoid processed foods labelled "natural"/ "no additives."
Be sure to read all ingredient labels. If an ingredient is not listed, it can be added during processing.
You should choose fresh meats rather than frozen or canned. Frozen and canned foods often contain less nutrient-rich ingredients like high fructose corn syrup.
What are the things to look for when purchasing organic products?
USDA-certified organic labels should be sought. This seal signifies that the product meets specific USDA standards. Look out for the USDA Organic seal on boxes, cartons cans and jars.
When you shop for meat, ensure that it comes from cows who are fed organic feed. Cattle are ruminants, which means they chew the cud. Ruminant cattle have four stomach compartments: rumen, reticulum, omasum, and abomasum. Organic feeding must be done on all organs of the animal in order to get the cow labelled organic 100 percent.
You should only purchase chicken that has been raised organically. It must not have ever been treated with antibiotics. Chickens are omnivores, meaning they eat both plants and animals. A digestive tract that is omnivorous includes a crop, proventriculus and gizzard. It also contains small intestines, large intestines, and anus.
Buy dairy products that are 100% organically produced. Dairy cows have four stomach compartments, just like ruminants. The fourth stomach, or the udder is where you get milk.
To find out the percent of the feed the animals received when you purchase other types livestock, be sure to read the labels. For example, pork may be marked "95% organic" to indicate that 95 percent of the pork's feed is organic.
Do organic foods have health benefits?
Although organic foods are not for everyone, they can be very healthy. But for those who eat them regularly, there are definite health benefits.
Organic food does not contain artificial fertilizers or pesticides. It also doesn't contain fungicides. Organic produce is not grown with harmful chemicals that could pose a risk to human health.
The use of additives in the processing process is also less common. Organic products are more nutritious than those made from non-organic ingredients.
Studies have shown that organic foods are more nutritious and rich in antioxidants than fruits and veggies grown from conventional sources.
While organic farming is more expensive than traditional farming, it often produces better results. Organic agriculture encourages soil fertility, biodiversity and biodiversity.
This helps conserve water resources and protects against erosion. Organic farms don't use toxic chemicals and require less fuel and energy.
Some people worry that organic foods are more expensive than conventional ones. However, prices can vary depending upon where you live. For example, organic apples can be more costly than conventional apples.
However, organic fruit is more affordable if you compare the price of a basket of both types.
So, should you buy organic?
It all depends on your personality. You shouldn't bother if you don't enjoy organic food.
However, if you enjoy good-tasting food, you can buy organic food. Organic foods are safer than conventional food because they don't contain chemical pesticides or fertilizers.
Organic agriculture preserves our environment by conserving natural resource and encouraging biodiversity.
Statistics
- Once certified by the USDA, it can fall into one of four categories: "100 percent organic", "organic," "made with organic ingredients," or "made with less than 70 percent organic ingredients. (en.wikipedia.org)
- As for organic meat, regulations require that animals be raised in living conditions that accommodate their natural behaviours (like the ability to graze on pasture), fed 100% organic feed and forage, and not administered antibiotics or hormones. (usda.gov)
- According to a study performed by consumerreports.org, organic products, compared to non-organic products, ranged anywhere from 13 percent cheaper to 303 percent more expensive. (en.wikipedia.org)
- Popular clothing brands, like Patagonia, are labelled as organic by using 100 percent organic cotton for many of their styles. (en.wikipedia.org)

How To
Organic foods: Are they safer and more nutritious?
Organic foods can be grown without the use synthetic fertilizers and chemical pesticides. They are grown under natural conditions without artificial inputs such as fungicides, insecticides, herbicides, hormones, antibiotics, or genetic engineering. Crop rotation, cover crops and the use of compost animal manure, wastewater recycling, and integrated pest management (IPM) are some examples of organic farming.
The USDA National Organic Program (NOP), established in 2002 to regulate production, handling and processing of organic products sold in the United States. NOP regulations assure that organic agricultural products comply with the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. In addition, the NOP rules mandate that organic products must be free from prohibited substances, including pesticide residues, veterinary drugs, growth hormones, genetically modified organisms, irradiation, sewage sludge, industrial waste, and heavy metals.
Two types of certification programs are available in the United States for producers who wish to have their products labeled organic. One is for farmers and ranchers; one is for manufacturers. Both programs require annual audits of operations to verify compliance with rigorous standards. There are several certifying organizations that offer these services. These include the CCOF Certified Organic Farmers & Ranchers as well as Quality Assurance International and the American Grassfed Association. Each of these organizations provides third-party verification to verify that farms are following strict guidelines in regards to environmental stewardship, labour practices and care for livestock.
The USDA's Economic Research Service estimates that organic agriculture was responsible for $4.7 billion of 2013 sales. In 2013, organic agriculture accounted for $4.7 billion in sales. This represents a 23-percent increase over 2009. This period saw a 12 percent increase in grocery store sales. Spending on direct purchases of organic produce increased by 29 percent, while spending on meat, poultry, eggs, dairy, and seafood grew by only 1 percent.
While organic food may be more expensive, consumers think its superior quality justifies the higher price. Consumer Reports conducted a 2015 survey and found that 88% would pay more if organic food had better nutritional value. Health Affairs published another study that found organic food eaters are less likely than those who consume conventional foods to have health problems such diabetes, heart disease and cancer.
Although there is no evidence eating organic foods prevents or treats any diseases, some studies suggest that consuming them might improve overall health by reducing exposure to specific contaminants and pesticides. One example is the conclusion reached by a review of 31 studies, published in 2010, that organically reared beef was significantly less toxic than conventionally-raised beef. Similar conclusions were reached in a separate analysis of 11 other studies published in 2012.
A 2014 report from the Environmental Working Group looked at data from the Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Resource Center and found that the incidence of foodborne illness caused by E. coli, salmonella, listeria monocytogenes, campylobacter, and verotoxin-producing E. coli O157:H7 decreased when comparing organic to non-organic chicken, pork, beef, lamb, milk, and cheese. The report also pointed out that E.coli 157 caused human illness declined in both children and adults following 2006 when USDA established stricter organic standards.
