I’d take some finger-licking protein over a sickly sweet pie, but that’s just my opinion. Or, maybe you agree with me. Wherever you land on this meaningless debate, I’ll tell you this—I love my air fryer chicken. It’s simple, tasty, and a sure crowd-pleaser.
Chicken wings are often baked or fried, but what I like about using an air fryer is that you get the best of both worlds. It’s crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside, all without any extra oil. Just add your favorite rub, and you’re good to go. But what about the sauce? Oh, I’ve got you covered. Try this easy keto-friendly BBQ sauce, or if mustard is your jam, you can’t go wrong with this honey mustard dipping sauce.

Are Air Fryer Frozen Chicken Wings Healthy?

Normally, this is where I’d offer some healthy ingredient swaps, but I think this recipe doesn’t need it. With only 7 grams of unsaturated fat and 2 grams of saturated fat per serving, these air fryer chicken wings are surely healthier than the deep-fried variety. Plus, they’re inherently low carb since there’s no breading or sauce. Though, I’d definitely recommend having a sauce on hand. These wings taste good on their own, but adding a sauce makes this good dish great.

Mind the air fryer

While you should follow the steps in the recipe below, it’s worth mentioning that every air fryer runs differently, so monitoring is key. If your air fryer has a light, turn it on every few minutes to ensure you don’t overcook the chicken. If you don’t have a light, crack the drawer and take a peek once in a while. Depending on your air fryer, you may need to increase (or decrease) the temperature to achieve your desired crispness. Also, avoid crowding the wings. You need that hot air to circulate in order to crisp up your chicken.
