Is organic meat better?

There are two sides to the coin. Organic produce takes longer to grow, and it requires more resources. This means organic food will cost more than its non-organic counterpart.

Organic meats can be more expensive that those from conventionally raised animals. There are however ways to lower these costs without sacrificing the quality of organic meats.

Local purchases can help you save money. Locally grown fruits and veggies help to lower prices because farmers get incentives to grow good crops.

Deals are another way to cut costs. Many organic products can be purchased at a discount.

Another way to save money? Eat less meat. Because of the amount of feed required to raise livestock, meat production can become expensive.

There are many reasons organic foods are better for our bodies and the environment, but we need to be mindful of the cost.


How can I tell if my produce has been certified organic?

These labels will help you ensure that organic produce is purchased.

USDA Organic Certified- This product has been certified organic by the USDA.

Certified Naturally Grown is produce that has met strict organic requirements but not yet been certified by the USDA.

Pastured/Freerange - Products made from animals who graze freely and are outdoors.

These labels are used to indicate that the product meets specified criteria.

  • There are no growth-promoting drugs

What are the most loved organic products?

Today organic food is the fastest-growing sector. However, we still have a lot to learn from our roots.

Organic products are the future. They are safer, healthier for the environment, and easier to afford for consumers.

But they tend to be more expensive. The Organic Food Index was created to address this. We wanted to determine which foods are the most popular among shoppers today and whether these trends are changing.

The results showed that organic food is increasing in popularity. Between 2011 & 2012, almost half of Americans purchased organic food.

According to USDA, organic production grew by 10% last year. Currently, organic food accounts for 9% in the U.S. agricultural production.

While organic food is certainly gaining ground, it seems that it is still an expensive choice for consumers. According to the Organic Trade Association (OTA), average retail prices for organic food are almost double those of conventional alternatives.

The organic food sector is growing faster than other segments of the food supply. If you examine the data closely, you will see that organic foods have grown steadily in consumption since 2009.

According to OTA, organic products sold in supermarkets grew 14% between 2010-2011.

This is due to consumer demand for healthier food, which explains why organic foods sales are rising across all age groups.

However, younger generations are leading the charge when choosing organic food. Millennials are twice as likely to buy organic food compared to baby boomers. The 25% of organic food purchase made by younger adults below 35 are made up of young adults.

5 Reasons You Should Buy Organic Products

Organic foods do not use pesticides or synthetic fertilisers. They contain no genetically modified organisms (GMOs) or irradiated ingredients. Their production methods do not involve sewage sludge or industrial solvents. During its growth, the food's natural environment remains unaffected by contamination. It is free from artificial additives and preservatives. It does not contain hormones or antibiotics. They are also grown in conditions that ensure they retain their nutritional value for longer periods of time.

  1. Health benefits. Organic produce contains fewer chemicals than nonorganic produce. This means it's less likely to cause allergies and sensitivities. It also means that you consume less toxic chemicals and carcinogens.
  2. Eco-friendliness. Organically grown produce doesn't require synthetic fertilizer or pesticides. Organic farms are often located far from areas with high levels of pollution because it takes so much energy for conventional agriculture to grow. This reduces air pollution.
