Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I buy organic?
Conventional agriculture has been linked with many health problems including asthma, allergies. It is important to make informed choices about food purchases.
The Environmental Working Group (EWG), offers these tips to help you choose "cleaner" foods:
Always buy organic fruits & vegetables.
USDA organic labels for meat, poultry eggs, milk and cheese as well butter and honey are recommended.
Avoid processed foods that claim to be "natural" and "no additives."
Be sure to read all ingredient labels. If an ingredient isn’t listed, it might be added during processing.
Frozen and canned meats should be preferred to fresh. Many frozen and canned foods contain less nutrients, like high fructose Corn Syrup.
What is organic meat?
Organic meat is organic food that has been grown naturally without the use of pesticides, artificial fertilizers or hormones. Organic meat also indicates that animals were not fed genetically modified food. It is safe to eat because it doesn't contain any harmful chemicals.
Organic meats are also better for our environment. We reduce the amount of pollution in our rivers, lakes, and landfills by eating organic food. We also help protect wildlife because organic farmers usually do not use toxic chemicals that kill insects and birds.
Buy organic meats whenever possible. This is the best way for you to eat healthy, organic meats. Local purchases help keep more money within the community than traveling out of state. Local businesses often pass along savings to customers when shopping locally. In addition, buying local keeps jobs right here in America instead of sending them overseas.
What are some things I should look out for when purchasing organic goods?
USDA-certified organic labels are recommended. This guarantees that the product meets certain USDA standards. You will find the USDA Organic seal on all boxes, cartons and cans.
When you shop for meat, ensure that it comes from cows who are fed organic feed. Cattle are ruminants. They eat the whole animal. Ruminant cattle have four stomach compartments: rumen, reticulum, omasum, and abomasum. To be labeled '100% organic, all animal parts must be organically nourished.
You should only purchase chicken that has been raised organically. It must not have ever been treated with antibiotics. Omnivore chickens can eat both plants as well as animals. Omnivorous chickens possess a digestive tract made up of a crop.
Buy dairy products that are 100% organically produced. Just like ruminants, dairy cows also have four stomachs. The fourth stomach compartment, the udder, is where milk comes from.
If you are buying other types of livestock, make sure to check the label to determine the percentage of their diet. Pork may be labeled "95% Organic" which means that 95 percent of its feed was organic.
What are the best organic vegetables for you?
Organic vegetables are the healthiest and most nutritious foods available to humans. They are among the most nutritious foods on Earth.
Organic produce is free from pesticides and herbicides. These chemicals pose severe dangers to our health as well as the environment.
Organic produce contains more nutrients, vitamins and minerals. This makes them healthier because we absorb these nutrients better when eating organics.
Organic vegetables taste delicious and are safe for you to eat. Consuming organic produce has no known side effects.
All grocery stores can carry organic produce. You can find organic fruits and vegetables at all grocery stores as long as they conform to USDA guidelines.

How To
How to save money on organic meat
In this post, I'll share tips and tricks on buying organic meat without breaking your bank account.
I'll give you some tips about where to find organic meats at a low price and how much it costs per pound. This will teach you how to get the most out of your purchase.
You don't need to spend a lot of money to eat healthily. Sometimes, it takes a bit of creativity to save money while eating well. Here are some ways you can cut down on food expenses while still getting the best from organic meat.
- Shop at wholesale clubs - Sams Club or Costco are great places to buy bulk foods such as chicken breasts and pork chops. If you're lucky enough to live near one of these stores, you can often get deals on large quantities of meat (up to 50 pounds). This way you won't end up with any leftover meat. If you buy it in bulk you can freeze it so it lasts more.
- Online shopping is a great way to find meat at a discounted price. Amazon has Prime Pantry, a weekly sale that offers free shipping for orders over $35. There are also discounts on lamb steaks (lamb steaks), ground beef, pork loins, and beef roasts. It's easy to browse their website and see what's available at different times.
- Local farmers will usually be cheaper than big-box retailers since they don't pay large fees to stock their shelves. Plus, they know exactly what their animals ate and drank, so they know exactly what's inside their bodies.
- Look for lean cuts of meat. Fatty meats are generally more expensive to cook. Look for the tiniest cuts. The most popular are sirloin or flank steak, tenderloin roasts, top round steak, and top roast steak. These cuts are high in protein and low in fat.
- You don't have to be afraid to try new recipes. It's possible to reduce grocery expenses by cooking new recipes using ingredients you've never tried before. It's possible to create delicious meals with fresh tomatoes, onions and garlic using olive oil, spices, and garlic.
- Be creative with leftovers - If you have leftover cooked meat or poultry, use them for sandwiches, salads, soups, casseroles, etc. Leftover meat is perfect for making quick lunches or dinners.
So, there you are! These are my top tips for how to get organic meat on a tight budget. Do you have any other tips? Are you able to give me any tips on how to get cheap meat?
