Preheating your pan, oven or grill is a must, as is coating the lean cuts with a light oil to prevent drying out over high heat. It is a good idea to marinate thawed meats in the refrigerator, choosing recipes that enhance the natural flavors of the beef and add moisture.

  1. Buy bulk food at wholesale clubs. Sams Club and Costco both offer great options for buying bulk foods like pork chops and chicken breasts. You may be able to get large quantities of meat for as low as 50 pounds if your home is near one of these stores. This ensures that meat is not wasted. If you buy it in bulk you can freeze it so it lasts more.
  2. Online shopping is a great way to find meat at a discounted price. Amazon, for example, offers Prime Pantry, a weekly deal that includes free shipping on orders greater than $35 They offer discounts on beef roasts, ground beef, lamb steaks, and pork loins.
