This aromatic and fun project will make your gifts stand out, but also give them the lovely images of nature. Grab your favorite herbs, and let's start crafting!



Materials Required:

  • Fresh herbs that have sturdy leaves (e.g. rosemary, sage mint, scented Geraniums, etc.)
  • Pads of ink in various colors
  • Blank gift tags and cardstock
  • Twine, ribbon


Step One: Selecting and Preparing Herbs

The first step in a successful project is choosing the right herbs. Choose herbs that have robust leaves with strong veins, such as rosemary, sage or any mint. geranium leaf. To ensure a clean, crisp stamp, make sure the surfaces are completely dry and clean.


Step 2: Stamp Tags

It's time to be creative! Make sure you get an even coat of ink by pressing the herb leaves onto the pad. Here is where the magic happens.

Press the herb firmly and steadily onto the blank tag. Lift it gently and you will see the natural stamp.

Try different angles and pressues to get various artistic effects. Use a stamp with two colors by pressing a leaf that was previously pressed on a lighter shade onto a darker tone.

Marcy Tip: The ink was pressed on the edges of the card and onto my fingers. You might want to use gloves. This gave me the idea to place a leaf between cards, and get both sides in one press. It came out fantastic!











Step 3: Finishing touches

Let the ink dry completely before continuing. Grab a pen once your tags have dried and start writing your holiday messages. Attach the tags using twine or a ribbon to your gifts.



Pro tip: Use different colors of ribbon to compliment your herbstamped tags.

Marcy's Tip: I stamped some leaves twice, using a darker color. The result was two-tone leaf prints.
