Frequently Asked Questions
What are organic beauty products?
Organic Beauty Products don't contain synthetic chemicals such as parabens. These ingredients are common in cosmetics such as shampoos, perfumes, and cosmetics.
Organic beauty products don't contain genetically modified organisms and are therefore free from animal testing.
The USDA defines organic as "a system that fosters the cycling of resources." It has been used for many decades to describe food products grown without pesticides.
There has been a rise in demand for ecofriendly beauty products over the years due to the negative effects of chemical chemicals on our skin.
These include cancer, allergies, skin irritation, hormonal imbalance, and premature aging.
Organic beauty products are created by companies that care about the environment and create safe, healthy products for customers.
Are organic foods better for us?
According to the Environmental Working Group, organic vegetables and fruits had half the amount of pesticides as non-organic. They found that organic apples contained eight times fewer pesticides than non-organic apples, while organic strawberries were four times cleaner than their conventional counterparts.
Another study suggests that organic food can reduce exposure to toxic metals such as lead and mercury. For example, one study showed that children who ate organic meat had 33 percent lower blood lead levels than those who didn't consume organic meats. Another study concluded conventional fish consumption should be stopped by pregnant women because it contains high levels of mercury.
Organic food is generally safer than non-organic. Experts recommend that you choose fresh fruits and vegetables whenever possible to lower your chance of developing cancer or other diseases.
Why is organic food important
Our health is dependent on organic produce. Organic produce is the best way to eat healthy foods. It's better for us and more sustainable because it doesn’t depend on pesticides or fertilizers.
Organic farming uses natural methods to grow crops without harmful chemicals. This makes organic farming safer for both humans and animals. By choosing organic food, you are protecting the planet as well as yourself.
The benefits of organic food go beyond our health, though. We all know how unhealthy processed foods can make us feel. But did you know that most organic fruits and vegetables aren't treated with chemical spray either? It means that organic fruits, vegetables and other foods are fresher tasting, more vibrant and last longer.
This is why organic food is so important. Because organic is healthier for you as well as for the world.
Is organic food good for you?
There are two types of foods; those we grow ourselves and those we buy from someone else. There are exceptions, but the majority of the time, both options will be available. Organic food is healthier than conventional food because it doesn’t contain harmful chemicals, pesticides or herbicides. It also doesn’t contain preservatives or genetically modified organisms.
There are many supermarkets that sell organic food across North America and Europe. Many grocery stores now sell organic food. This makes it easier for customers to select organic products.
Organic food is also better tasting and more nutritious because it contains higher levels of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Organics are grown without using pesticides and fertilizers. They also don't pollute soil or water.
The USDA regulates organic agriculture practices. This means that farmers must adhere to strict guidelines to make sure organic produce is safe to consume. There are currently more than 30,000,000 acres of US farmland which have been designated organic.
As an added benefit, organic food is often much cheaper than conventional food. Consumers are paying less for the same amount of calories, protein, and nutrients. Organic farms are free to charge less for their crops, as they don't need to pay expensive chemical inputs such insecticides orfungicides.
According to the Environmental Working Group (EWG), organic food actually costs 10% less per pound. If you care about the health of yourself and your family, consider switching to organic food.
Organic food has become a popular alternative to standard American diets. Many people believe that organic food can only be found in specialty markets or gourmet restaurants. This is false. Organic food can easily be found in any regular grocery store across the United States.
The sales of organic food have increased dramatically in recent years. In 2012, the US market value for organic food was $43 Billion. This is an increase of $21 Billion from 2007.
What should I be looking out for when shopping organic products
USDA-certified organic labels should be sought. This guarantee that the product has met specific standards set forth by USDA. On packages, boxes, cartons or cans, look out for the USDA Organic seal.
When you shop for meat, ensure that it comes from cows who are fed organic feed. Cattle are ruminants. They eat the whole animal. Ruminant cattle are divided into four stomach compartments, the rumen and reticulum as well as the omasum and abmasum. All parts of an animal must be organically fed if the cow is going to be labelled '100% organic.'
You should only purchase chicken that has been raised organically. It must not have ever been treated with antibiotics. Omnivore chickens can eat both plants as well as animals. Omnivorous chickens have a digestive tract composed of a crop, proventriculus, gizzard, small intestine, large intestine, and anus.
Buy only dairy products from cows that have been fed organically grown feed. Just like ruminants have four stomachs, dairy cows have four. Milk comes from the fourth stomach compartment--the udder.
If you are buying other types of livestock, make sure to check the label to determine the percentage of their diet. A label for pork might say "95% organic", which means that 95% of the feed used by the pork came from organic sources.

How To
What happens when you switch from conventional products to organic?
Organic products are produced without the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. They come from clean water sources, and are raised on free-range animals. Organic means that they are free from chemicals and additives. This product was produced by nature and therefore contains no harmful substances.
The term "natural" refers how food is grown. It is usually used to describe foods that haven't been processed into their final form (e.g., fruits). Natural foods are often more fresh than others, because they haven’t been processed with heat, radiation or chemical preservations. However, some people believe natural doesn't necessarily mean healthy. Experts aren't sure if there is much to be different between organic and traditional foods. Both types have been tested for quality and safety. Organic produce is less likely to contain pesticide residues and pollutants than conventionally grown produce.
Most grocery stores now carry organic meats and poultry. If you are looking for organic meat, poultry and eggs, check with your local grocery store. Some companies sell only organic products; others have separate sections for them. Look for USDA Certified Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified, Biodynamic Association Certified, Rainforest Alliance Certified, etc.
These items should be avoided if you're pregnant or breastfeeding. Pesticides can harm unborn infants and babies.
