Buy organic meats whenever possible. This is the best way for you to eat healthy, organic meats. Local buying helps to keep money in the community, rather than moving out of state. Local businesses often offer discounts to their customers by shopping locally. Shopping locally keeps American jobs in America, rather than sending them abroad.


What are organic food products?

Organic produce is grown without pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, irradiation, genetic engineering, or confinement feeding. No growth hormones are used. Animal testing is also not done. These crops are allowed to grow naturally, so farmers do not use chemicals to prevent weeds or pests.

Organic farming practices also maintain soil quality by reducing erosion and conserving water resources. Organics contain more nutrients than regular food and are therefore better for our overall health. Organic products tend to be higher in fiber and lower fat than conventionally produced foods.


Do organic foods have health benefits?

Organic foods may not be healthy for everyone. They can be beneficial for your health if you eat them often.

Organic food is produced without artificial fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, hormones, antibiotics, or genetic engineering. Organic produce is free from harmful chemicals that could cause harm to human health.

Additionally, organic products are less likely to contain additives during processing. Organic products are healthier than those that use additives during processing.

Studies have shown that organic foods are more nutritious and rich in antioxidants than fruits and veggies grown from conventional sources.

What are the health benefits of organic farming

Organic farming allows farmers to produce food using only natural methods. Farmers do not need to worry about harmful pesticides harming their crops or animals.

Organic farming also offers more natural fertilizers. These fertilizers help to grow healthy plants and help to reduce the amount of chemical waste produced.

Organic farming is also environmentally friendly. Farmers often use composting techniques to recycle nutrients back into the soil. This reduces pollutants and conserves precious resources.

Organic farming is good for the environment and increases crop yields. This is because there is much less water used during the growing season.

Organic production also means that farmers get higher prices for their products. Consumers who are more aware about the dangers associated with pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and other chemicals will choose healthier foods.

This drives up the demand for organic products. Organic farming is gaining popularity because of these reasons.


What are some things I should look out for when purchasing organic goods?

USDA-certified organic label are desirable. This guarantee that the product has met specific standards set forth by USDA. Look for the "USDA Organic" seal on packages, boxes, cartons, cans, and jars.

When shopping for meat, ensure it comes from cows fed 100% organic feed. Ruminants are cattle that chew their cud. Ruminant cattle have four stomach areas: rumen (reticulum), omasum (omasum), and abomasum. Organic feeding must be done on all organs of the animal in order to get the cow labelled organic 100 percent.

Chicken should be only purchased from chickens raised on organic feed, and not given antibiotics. Chickens can eat both animal and plant food. Omnivorous chickens possess a digestive tract made up of a crop.

Buy dairy products that are 100% organically produced. Like ruminants, dairy cattle have four stomachs. Milk comes from the fourth stomach compartment--the udder.

When purchasing other types of livestock, check the label to see what percentage of the diet the animals were fed. Pork may be labeled "95% Organic" which means that 95 percent of its feed was organic.


Organic foods are better for us.

According to the Environmental Working Group's latest report on pesticide residues in foods, organic fruits and vegetables had nearly half the level of pesticides compared with non-organic versions. Organic strawberries contained four times more pesticides that their conventional counterparts, and organic apples contained eight percent less.

Another study suggests that organic food can reduce exposure to toxic metals such as lead and mercury. A study concluded that children who ate organic meat had 33% lower levels of blood lead than those who didn’t. A second study found that conventional fish should be avoided by pregnant women due to the high levels of mercury.

Overall, organic food does seem to be safer than its non-organic counterpart. Experts recommend that fresh produce and vegetables be used whenever possible to reduce your chances of developing cancer.

What happens to the body when you switch over to organic products

Organic products do not contain synthetic fertilizers or hormones. They come only from natural sources of water and free-range animals. Organic means that they are free from chemicals and additives. This product was naturally produced and contains no harmful chemicals.

The term "natural" refers to how food is grown. It is usually used to describe foods that haven't been processed into their final form (e.g., fruits). Natural foods are often more fresh than others, because they haven’t been processed with heat, radiation or chemical preservations. Natural doesn't necessarily have to be healthy, however. Experts aren't sure if there is much to be different between organic and traditional foods. Both types have been tested for quality and safety. But organic produce has fewer pollutants and pesticide residues than conventionally grown produce.

In general, most grocery stores now offer organic options. For organic meats, poultry, eggs and seafood, you should check with your local supermarket. Some companies sell only organic products; others have separate sections for them. USDA Certified Organic and Non-GMO Project Verified are some of the options.

These foods should be avoided by women who are pregnant or breast-feeding. Pesticides have been shown to harm infants and unborn babies.
