Frequently Asked Questions
What is an organic food manufacturer?
Organic food producers grow organic products without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers. These foods include fruits, vegetables, grains, and dairy products.
Organic food production happens on farms where crops have been naturally nurtured. This includes soil preparation, pest controls, and crop rotation.
For an agricultural product to be considered organic, it must meet strict criteria set out by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture).
These guidelines make it possible for consumers to have safe, healthy, and delicious food.
Organic foods have higher nutritional content and better flavor, as well as lower pesticide residues.
USDA certified organic products must bear the USDA Certified Organic label.
This certification signifies that the product meets all standards set by the National Organic Program.
Organic food helps us eat healthier and also protects the environment.
Organic farming methods preserve natural resources, such as water or land. Organic farming also helps to reduce greenhouse gases emissions, which are responsible for climate change.
Organic agriculture uses fewer chemical inputs and pollutes less.
It improves air quality as harmful gases such nitrates or ammonia are less likely to accumulate in the atmosphere.
There are many kinds of organic farming: permaculture, regenerative and conventional.
Conventional agriculture refers to the use synthetic inputs, such as pesticides/fertilizers.
Regenerative farming includes compost, cover crops, as well as green manures that improve soil health. It encourages biodiversity.
Agroecology concentrates on the sustainable relationship between people, plants and animals.
Permaculture promotes self-sufficiency through the design of systems that mimic nature.
Why should organic be my first choice?
Many health issues have been linked to conventional agriculture, including obesity, diabetes and cancer. When buying food, you must make wise choices.
Here are some tips from the Environmental Working Group (EWG).
When possible, buy organic fruits and veggies
USDA organic labels can be found on meat, poultry (eggs, eggs), milk, cheese and yogurt as well.
Avoid processed foods marked "natural" or with "no additives."
Be sure to read all ingredient labels. If an ingredient doesn't appear on the list, it could be added to the product during processing.
Fresh meats are better than canned or frozen. Cans and frozen foods are often less nutritious than fresh meats, such as high fructose corn syrup.
How do you know if your food is organic?
If you ask any chef, he'll tell you there's nothing more important than fresh ingredients. That's because when we eat well, we feel better.
The same is true of our food. Organics are traceable back to the source and provenance of their products. We also know that it didn't have any harmful chemicals.
Organic foods are made without the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, hormones, steroids, antibiotics, or genetically altered organisms (GMO). These substances are not permitted to organic farmers.
There is no art in growing organic crops. There are plenty of ways to grow them safely.
Organic farming is often called sustainable agriculture. It is a less resource-intensive alternative to conventional farming, but still provides enough nutrients to sustain life.
Organic farming practices include crop rotation, composting manure, cover cropping, and intercropping. These techniques reduce soil erosion and increase water quality.
They also reduce chemical runoff into waterways. Many of us live in urban areas so we have access to local farms that produce organic produce.
Two types of certification programs are available for organic products. One is certified through the USDA National Organic Program and the other by independent certifying agents. Both require strict compliance with organic standards.
USDA seals or O Seals can be applied to organic products. This symbol indicates that the product meets federal requirements.
Why is organic food important
Our health is dependent on organic produce. It is the best way for us to eat healthy food. It's healthier for us as well as more environmentally-friendly because it doesn’t rely on pesticides, fertilizers, or other chemicals.
Organic farming uses natural methods to grow crops without harmful chemicals. This makes organic farming safer for both humans and animals. Organic food is a way to help the environment and protect yourself.
However, organic food is good for our health. We all know how bad processed food can make us feel. You might not know this, but organic fruits and vegetables don't have to be treated with chemicals. That means that they taste fresher, look brighter and last longer too.
That's why eating organic matters so much. Organic is healthy for your health and for the environment.
What is the difference in organic and non-organic foods?
Organic food is grown without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers, sewage effluent, radiation, or genetic modification. Organic farming practices are good for soil health, water quality, animal welfare, and the environment.
Inorganic foods are produced using chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and sewage effluent. Irradiated foods are treated with radiation; genetically modified organisms (GMO) are created through biological engineering techniques.
"Natural" is sometimes used interchangeably in the context of "organic." But, "natural" does not necessarily refer to organic. Some products labeled "natural" may also contain synthetic ingredients.
Because organic produce contains fewer harmful chemicals, pesticides, and fertilizers than conventional produce it is more nutritious. Organic farmers are free from artificial fertilizers and pesticides.
What are organic beauty products?
Organic Beauty Products are natural products that do not contain any synthetic chemicals, including parabens. Phenoxyethanol, phthalates and artificial preservatives. These ingredients are found in most conventional beauty products, including cosmetics, perfumes, shampoos, etc.
Organic beauty products are not tested on animals and contain no genetically modified organisms.
The USDA defines organic as "a system for production that fosters recycling of resources". It has been used over the years to describe foods grown without pesticides.
Due to the adverse effects of chemicals on our bodies, there has been a growing demand for eco-friendly cosmetics in recent years.
These include skin irritations, cancer, hormonal imbalance, premature aging, and allergies.
Organic beauty companies work to create safe and healthy products for their customers while also protecting the environment.
Statistics

What Organic Foods Are You Looking For?
Organic foods are those that come from plants or animals, and do not contain any chemical pesticides, fertilizers, or additives. They are not subject to genetic engineering or the use of ionizing radioactive radiation. The food must contain no artificial ingredients, colourings, flavour enhancers, or preservatives. It must not contain genetically altered organisms (GMOs).
When Justus von Liebig, a chemical chemist, coined "organic", which means "life-giving," to describe the properties in manure, the term "organic" was used for the first time. Nowadays, most people associate the term organic with the production of food. Organic simply means the product is made from only naturally occurring substances such proteins, carbohydrate, and minerals.
Over the past decade, organic products have seen a dramatic increase in consumption. According to recent statistics, about 50% of the global population consumes at-least one organic product every day. This number increases constantly and is expected to reach 70%, 80%, and 90% by 2020.
Organic products are preferred for many reasons. Some prefer the flavor, while others prefer them because they are healthier. Others also believe organic farming makes it more sustainable. There are ethical concerns regarding farm workers and animals. This is why some people choose organic products.
While organic food is generally more expensive than traditional foods, prices do vary depending upon where you live. There are many factors that influence the cost of organic foods. One factor is the availability of land suitable for organic agriculture. The cost of inputs and labor required for organic cultivation is another factor. Transportation costs, marketing expenses, and taxes are all factors. The average European price for organic food is 10% lower than the regular price.
The main differences between organic and conventional foods are summarized below.
- Organic produce is free of chemicals, hormones, antibiotics, synthetic fertilizers, and growth regulators.
- Organic livestock is fed a diet based on grasses and grains rather than corn and soybean meals.
- Organic milk is only produced from cows that are fed all-natural hay and pasture grasses.
- All raw materials used in organic manufacturing processes are certified organic.
- Organic fruits or vegetables should not be grown in pesticide- or other harmful chemical environments.
- Organic meat, poultry and seafood are not subject to radiation.
- Raw nuts and seeds are soaked before use.
- Organic cooking is only allowed to use healthy oils.
- Organic eggs have been laid by hens and given access to outdoor areas.
- Honey is extracted using traditional methods by bees.
- Organic chocolate contains beans and sugar from organically grown and processed cacao.
- Organic wines are made without chemical additives.
- Tea leaves made from organic plants are grown by hand.
