Why should I go organic?
Many health issues have been linked to conventional agriculture, including obesity, diabetes and cancer. Healthy choices must be made when purchasing food.
The Environmental Working Group (EWG) offers the following tips on how to pick "cleaner" food:
Always buy organic fruits & vegetables.
USDA organic labels should be used on meat, poultry and eggs as well as milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, honey, and other dairy products.
Avoid processed foods that claim to be "natural" and "no additives."
Always read the ingredient lists. If an ingredient isn't listed, it may be added during processing.
Fresh meats are better than canned or frozen. Canned and frozen foods can often have lower nutritional content like high fructose syrup.
What are some things I should look out for when purchasing organic goods?
USDA-certified organic labels should be sought. This certification means that the product is certified organic by USDA. On packages, boxes, cartons or cans, look out for the USDA Organic seal.
When you shop for meat, ensure that it comes from cows who are fed organic feed. Cattle are ruminants, which means they chew the cud. Ruminant cattle can be found with four stomach compartments: the rumen, the reticulum, omasum, abomasum and omasum. If a cow is to be labeled organically, all parts must be organically fed.
When buying chicken, make sure it comes only from chickens fed 100% organic feed and never given antibiotics. Chickens are omnivores, meaning they eat both plants and animals. A digestive tract that is omnivorous includes a crop, proventriculus and gizzard. It also contains small intestines, large intestines, and anus.
Buy only dairy products from cows that have been fed organically grown feed. Dairy cows have four stomach compartments, just like ruminants. The fourth stomach compartment, the udder, is where milk comes from.
Check the label when purchasing livestock of any other type to find out what percentage was used in the animal's diet. Pork may be labeled "95% Organic" which means that 95 percent of its feed was organic.
What are the health benefits of organic farming
Organic farming provides farmers with a way of producing food without using chemicals. Organic farming is a way for farmers to produce food without using harmful pesticides.
Organic farming also offers more natural fertilizers. These fertilizers are good for plants that are healthy and reduce chemical waste.
Organic farming is also beneficial for the environment. Organic farming is also environmentally friendly. Farmers often use composting to recycle nutrients back into their soil. This reduces pollution and conserves valuable resources.
Organic farming improves crop yields while also helping the environment. This is because organic farming requires less water to grow the crops.
Organic production methods mean farmers can get higher prices. People who are more conscious of the dangers of chemical fertilizers and pesticides will eat healthier food.
This increases demand for organic food products. For these reasons, organic farming is becoming increasingly popular.
What are organic products that can be used on the skin?

Organic skincare products can be free of artificial colours and fragrances as well as preservatives, emulsifiers GMOs, Petrochemicals, animal testing (except for cosmetics tested on animals), pesticides hormones, antibiotics, heavy metallics and other contaminants.
They are also formulated to help maintain healthy skin, prevent premature aging, promote healing after injury, and support overall well-being.

How To
5 Reasons You Should Buy Organic Products
Organic food is grown without synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. They contain no genetically modified or irradiated food ingredients. They do not use industrial solvents or sewage effluent in their production. During its growing cycle, the food's natural environment will be protected from contamination. It does not contain artificial preservatives or additives. There is no use hormones or anti-biotics. They are also grown in conditions that ensure they retain their nutritional value for longer periods of time.
- Health benefits. Nonorganic produce has more chemicals than organic. Organic produce is healthier. This means it's less likely to cause allergies and sensitivities. This means you're also consuming less toxic and carcinogens.
- Eco-friendliness. Produce grown without synthetic fertilizer and pesticides requires very little water. Because it takes so much energy to grow conventionally, organic farms tend to be located far away from urban areas where there's plenty of pollution. This reduces air pollution.
- Sustainability. Organic farming relies on soil fertility rather than chemical fertilizers; this results in healthier soils with higher levels of organic matter. The rotation of crops and the letting of land fallow can improve soil health. Strong immune systems develop when farm animals are fed only grasses grown without antibiotics or added hormones.
- Taste. Because they are picked at their peak ripeness and then shipped long distances to supermarkets, conventional fruits and vegetables can often taste bland. Organic produce tastes richer and sweeter because it was harvested while still unripe.
- Nutrition. GMOs and BPA can be found in many processed foods. Avoid these harmful chemicals by eating whole foods, such as meat, eggs and fish, seeds, legumes, fruits, vegetables, herbs, and beans.
