Frequently Asked Questions
Almond Flour or Almond Meal? What is the difference?
Almond meal can be substituted for almond flour and is versatile enough to be used in baking, cooking and even making nut-free meals.
Almond flour could also contain gluten making it difficult for some people to digest. Gluten-free foods should be avoided if you have celiac Disease or any other digestive condition.
Almond flour isn't considered "superfood", but it is high in healthy fats, fibres, protein, vitamin E, and sodium.
The almond meal offers many nutritional benefits including iron, magnesium, zinc, manganese (thiamin), calcium, vitamin A, B1 and Vitamin C.
Almond flour is made from almonds and contains monounsaturated fat acids. Almond oil, however, contains polyunsaturated oils. Both types lower LDL (bad cholesterol) and increase HDL(good cholesterol).
Almond flour is high in antioxidants including phenolics, flavonoids, and proanthocyanidins. These compounds help to prevent oxidative damage from free radicals.
In a study published in Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry, almond flour was found to have an antioxidant activity comparable to blueberries, cranberries or pomegranates and red wine grapes juice.
Almond flour is typically sold along with almond milk, which is fortified to add additional nutrients.
What Thai spice should I use to cook Thai food in my own kitchen?
You will need to know five key spices in order to make authentic Thai food at your home: cayenne pepper, coriander seeds and turmeric. Each ingredient has a unique flavor profile and plays an essential role in creating delicious dishes.
Black pepper adds savoury flavours, while cinnamon adds sweetness. Coriander seeds add a spicy kick, while turmeric gives curry powder its signature yellow colour. Cayenne peppers bring the heat while cilantro adds freshness. The final touch is cinnamon which gives depth and complexity to any dish.
Each of these spices can be found at your local grocery, but you may prefer to buy them online.
Does Thai use ginger?
The answer is yes. Traditional Thai cooking makes extensive use of ginger. It is commonly added to stir-fries or soups. Ginger is also used in desserts such as lassis.
Ginger is native to China, Japan, and Korea, and its origins date back more than 5,000 years. It is believed that ginger originated in Southeast Asia where it was grown for medicinal purposes.
Ginger is well-known for its ability to relieve nausea and stimulate digestion. It may even help prevent migraines. Ginger also helps to relieve muscle spasms, reduce joint pain, and treat arthritis.
Ginger is often eaten fresh in Thailand. Ginger root is first cut into thin strips before drying and stored. From Asian markets, ginger root can be bought in cans and jars.
What is the most well-known ingredient in Thai cuisine?
Thailand's two main ingredients form the heart of all Thai dishes. They are rice and curry. These two elements combine to create a memorable flavor.
Combining these two basic foods into one dish is known as "Khaopad Krai" in Thailand.
This is true for all aspects of life. It is possible to achieve great success by combining the two key ingredients of hard work, perseverance, and determination.
The right ingredients can make you successful, like Khao Pad Krai: passion and purpose. You'll create something amazing if you combine them.
Remember that Thai food doesn't just require rice and curry. Next time you feel the urge to eat Thai food, think about how much more it can be than just rice. You'll be amazed at how much fun you can have experimenting with different ingredients!

How To
How do you store your cooking spices?
This article will show you how to store cooking spice for optimal performance. First, we must understand how food is stored.
Because light can diminish the flavour of spices, they should be kept in sealed containers. This is due to oxidation which occurs when oxygen combines with organic compounds such as those found in spices.
To prevent oxidation, spices should be stored in dark cupboards. Spices lose their flavor quickly if these conditions don't exist.
The best way to preserve the flavour of spices is to keep them in airtight jars away from direct sunlight.
To make flavoured drinks, you can add herbs or spices to water. Mix 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon with 1/2 cup of warm liquid and stir. Add a squeeze or lemon juice to the mixture and serve immediately.
Dried herbs and spices can be added to soups and stews, casseroles and rice dishes. Spread the spice mixture evenly onto the dish. Allow it to sit for between 5-10 minutes before serving.
As snacks, leftover cooked vegetables and fruits can be added into your favourite recipes.
If you want to take advantage of the flavours of fresh herbs and spices, chop or tear them up and add them to foods while they're still hot. You can also freeze herbs and spices by placing them in ice cube trays or muffin cups and freezing them. Once frozen, transfer to freezer bags or zip-top plastic bags.
