There are no significant differences in the cooking of whole and ground spices. After harvesting, spices are ground. So there is no difference in quality.
However, the price differences are significant. Because of the labor involved in making whole spices, they cost more. The flavor is well worth the effort.
When you buy bulk spices, you may get additional discounts. For example, you might receive a discount if you buy an entire bag of cinnamon sticks.
The same goes for nutmeg, cloves, ginger, cardamom, etc. This can help you save money on spices if you buy them in bulk.
Ground spices are also more durable than whole spices. Ground spices lose their potency rapidly due to oxygenation.
But the main reason why we recommend purchasing whole spices is that they add a lot of character to recipes.

Most recipes call for ground spices. This means that you'll need fresh whole spice. While this makes sense, it is costly, takes time and requires storage space.
Here is where the magic happens. With a little creativity, you can make your favorite spices easy to use in powdered form. You can then mix the spices into your favorite beverages to make delicious spiced drinks.
There are two methods to make these powders. One way is to grind whole spices into fine powder. One method involves using a mortar-and-pestle to grind spices into a finer consistency.
Whichever method you choose, you'll find that the resulting powder is much easier to measure out and store than whole spices. Plus, the powder keeps well so that you won't run out of stock.
You can experiment with mixing spices to create different flavours. For minty water you could mix spearmint with peppermint leaves. Ginger and cardamom pods can be used to make spicy ginger Tea.
Once you've learned how to make powdered spices from scratch, you can apply the same process to herbs. You can use basil, rosemary and thyme as common herbs.
The possibilities are endless. Use powdered spices to give your beverages extra flavour or to enhance the taste of dishes such as soups, salads, and pasta.

How to Make A Garlic Press
A garlic press is a valuable tool in every home cook's kitchen. It makes it easy to mince garlic into a paste, puree it into soups or salad dressings, or even make a sauce. It can also be used to crush whole garlic cloves into buttery spreads or garlic salt.
However, if you don’t already have a garlic pressing machine, you might wonder how to get one. Luckily, we've got some tips to help you get started.
First, you need a large dish. Place the bowl underneath the press and pour the crushed garlic into it. Now adjust the pressure regulator to the maximum.
Next, turn your handle clockwise to hear a click. The top end of the press should lift and reveal a flat area that allows you to slide your blade back and forth across the bowl. Continue turning the handle in a clockwise direction until the blades come to a close.
Finally, take the pressed garlic out and enjoy!
