Frequently Asked Questions

What are the top organic products?

Today organic food is the fastest-growing sector. However, we still have a lot to learn from our roots.

Organic products are the future. They are safer and more cost-effective for consumers.

They also tend to have higher prices. That's why we created the Organic Food Index. We wanted to determine which foods are the most popular among shoppers today and whether these trends are changing.

The results showed that organic food is increasing in popularity. Between 2011 and 2012, the number of Americans who shop for organic food increased by almost 50%.

The USDA reports that organic production increased 10% last year. Organic food now makes up 9% U.S. agriculture output.

Organic food is growing in popularity but is still expensive. According to the Organic Trade Association (OTA), average retail prices for organic food are almost double those of conventional alternatives.

However, organic food is growing more quickly than any other part of the food market. If you look closely at the data, it will be apparent that organic food consumption has steadily increased since 2009.

According to OTA the volume of organic products sold at supermarkets grew by 14% in 2010 and 2011.

This is because of consumer demand for healthier products, which explains the rise in organic food sales across all age categories.

Younger generations are also leading the way in organic food choices. Millennials are twice as likely to buy organic food compared to baby boomers. The 25% of organic food purchase made by younger adults below 35 are made up of young adults.

What are the advantages of organic farming?

Organic farming provides farmers with a way of producing food without using chemicals. The farmers don't have to worry about pesticides causing harm to their crops and animals.

Organic farming also offers more natural fertilizers. These fertilizers are good for plants that are healthy and reduce chemical waste.

Organic farming can also be environmentally friendly. Organic farming is also environmentally friendly. Farmers often use composting to recycle nutrients back into their soil. This helps to reduce pollution and conserve valuable resources.

As well as helping the environment, organic farming increases crop yields. This is because there is much less water used during the growing season.

Organic production methods also mean that farmers receive higher prices for their produce. Consumers who become more aware of the dangers of pesticides and chemical fertilizers demand healthier foods.

This increases demand for organic food products. Organic farming is becoming more popular because of this.

What are organic products that can be used on the skin?

Organic skincare products don't contain any synthetic chemicals such as parabens or phthalates.

Organic skincare products are also free of artificial colours, fragrances, preservatives, emulsifiers, GMOs, petrochemicals, animal testing (except cosmetics tested on animals), pesticides, hormones, antibiotics, heavy metals, and other contaminants.

They also help to preserve healthy skin and prevent premature aging.

These are some of the terms that you will see when you shop for organic products

  • Paraben Free- These are chemicals that help to keep certain cosmetics stable. But, they can also be toxic if taken in large quantities.
  • Fragrance-Free – The product does not contain essential oils or perfumes.
  • Cruelty-Free--No animals were hurt in the manufacturing process.
  • Natural Ingredients - the ingredient is naturally derived from the plant or animal.
  • Vegan/Vegetarian - the ingredients are either vegan or vegetarian.
  • Gluten-Free - this means that gluten was removed from the formulation.
  • Non-Toxic - The product doesn't contain toxins, carcinogens, or other dangerous compounds that could harm your health.
  • Biodegradable - the product will break down into harmless components when discarded.

How To

5 Reasons Why You Should Buy Organic Products

Organic foods do not use pesticides or synthetic fertilisers. They do not contain genetically modified organisms (GMOs), or radioactive ingredients. Their production processes do not include sewage or industrial solvents. During its growing cycle, the food's natural environment will be protected from contamination. It does not contain artificial preservatives or additives. There is no use hormones or anti-biotics. They are also produced in conditions that enable them to preserve their nutritional value, freshness, and quality for longer periods.

  1. Health benefits. Organic produce contains less chemicals than nonorganic. This means that it is less likely to cause allergies. This means you're also consuming less toxic and carcinogens.
  2. Eco-friendliness. Produce grown without synthetic fertilizer and pesticides requires very little water. Organic farms are often located far from areas with high levels of pollution because it takes so much energy for conventional agriculture to grow. This helps to reduce air pollution.
  3. Sustainability. Organic farming relies less on chemical fertilizers and more on soil fertility. This results with healthier soils with greater organic matter. Soil health improves when farmers rotate crops and leave land fallow periodically. When farm animals eat only grasses and grains raised without any added hormones or antibiotics, they develop strong immune systems.
  4. Taste. The taste of conventional fruits and veggies is often bland. This is because they are picked at the peak of ripeness. They then get shipped long distances to their destination. Organic produce tastes sweeter and more rich because it was picked when it was still young.
  5. Nutrition. GMOs and BPA are common in processed foods. Avoid these harmful chemicals by eating whole foods, such as meat, eggs and fish, seeds, legumes, fruits, vegetables, herbs, and beans.
