Frequently Asked Questions
What are organic fruits and vegetables?
Organic foods are free of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. They are also richer in nutrients like vitamins C, E, K, and omega-3 fat acids. These nutritious ingredients make organic foods better for our bodies, and for the planet.
Organic foods are grown using sustainable farming practices that preserve soil quality and encourage biological diversity. They are free from harmful chemicals, radiation, and sewage sludge.
While most consumers associate organics with produce, many organic products include dairy, meat, poultry, eggs, baked goods, personal care items, pet food, and household cleaning supplies.
The USDA defines "organic" as that crops being raised according to strict rules set forth by federal government standards. Farmers cannot use conventional (non-organic) methods to grow these foods. However, they can use approved natural methods to control pests, like crop rotation and cover crops, or animal feed made of organic materials.
A farmer must also adhere to guidelines about how much fertilizer or pesticide he applies during the growing season. Also, he must rotate his fields between different crops. GMOs (genetically modified organisms), synthetic growth hormones and insecticides as well as synthetic fertilizers are prohibited by farmers.
The requirements for organic fruits and vegetables are met if they are labeled 100 percent organic. Some farms don't label their products 100% organic, as it could confuse consumers. Instead, they will say that their product is "made with organic components". "
What are the top organic vegetables?
Organic vegetables are the best and most nutritious food source. They are considered the healthiest food on Earth.
Organic produce is organically grown without pesticides. These chemicals can pose serious risks to our environment and health.
Organic produce is also richer in nutrients, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. This makes them healthier because we absorb these nutrients better when eating organics.
Not only do organic vegetables taste delicious, but they are also safe to eat. Organic produce does not have side effects.
You can find organic fruits and veggies at any grocery store. As long as they are produced according to USDA guidelines (which means they meet the standards set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture), they are labelled "organic." If you cannot find organic produce at your local grocery store, check out online retailers such as Amazon or Walmart.
Are organic foods healthier?
According to the Environmental Working Group, organic vegetables and fruits had half the amount of pesticides as non-organic. They discovered that organic apples contained eight more pesticides per gram than non-organic ones, while organic strawberries contained four times as many pesticides.
Studies have also shown that organic foods reduce the risk of mercury and lead poisoning. One study revealed that children who ate organic meat had 33 per cent lower blood lead levels than their counterparts who didn't eat organic meats. A second study found that conventional fish should be avoided by pregnant women due to the high levels of mercury.
Organic food appears to be more safe than non-organic. Experts recommend that you choose fresh fruits and vegetables whenever possible to lower your chance of developing cancer or other diseases.
Why is organic foods important?
Organic produce is important for our health. It is the best way for us to eat healthy food. It's not only better for us but also it's more sustainable as it doesn't rely upon pesticides and fertilers.
Organic farming is a natural method of growing crops that uses no harmful chemicals. This reduces the risk of environmental pollution, which makes it safer for people and animals. Organic food is a way to help the environment and protect yourself.
The benefits of organic food go beyond our health, though. We are all well aware of how harmful processed food can make our bodies feel. But did you know that most organic fruits and vegetables aren't treated with chemical spray either? This means they are more fresh tasting, last longer and look better.
It's because organic is healthy for you and the planet. Organic is healthy for your health and for the environment.

How To
What happens to your body when you switch to organic products?
Organic products are produced without the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. They come from clean water sources, and are raised on free-range animals. They are organic because they don't contain any additives or chemicals. This product was produced by nature and therefore contains no harmful substances.
Natural means how food is grown. It is used to describe food that has not been processed into its final form, such as fruits. Natural foods are usually fresher than processed foods, as they haven’t been exposed to heat, radiation, chemical preservatives, or other treatments. Natural doesn't necessarily have to be healthy, however. Experts say that there aren't many differences between organic and conventional food. Both types are tested for safety as well as quality. Organic produce is safer than conventionally produced produce.
Most grocery stores now sell organic products. Check with your local market if you want organic meat, poultry, dairy, eggs, and seafood. Some companies sell only organic products. Other companies have separate sections. USDA Certified Organic, Non GMO Project Verified. Biodynamic Association Certified. Rainforest Alliance Certified.
If you are pregnant, or nursing, these products should not be eaten. Pesticides have been shown to harm infants and unborn babies.
