Thai cuisine uses the most popular type of mint, the lime-leaf (Mentha cevina).

You will need to know five key spices in order to make authentic Thai food at your home: cayenne pepper, coriander seeds and turmeric. Each ingredient has a unique flavor profile and plays an essential role in creating delicious dishes.

Cinnamon adds sweetness, while black pepper brings out savoury flavours. Coriander seeds give curry powder its distinctive yellow colour, while turmeric adds a spicy kick. Cayenne peppers heat up the dish, while cilantro adds flavor and freshness. Finally, cinnamon can add depth and complexity in any dish.

These spices are available at most grocery stores. However, if you prefer to order them online, we have recommendations.


Almond Flour vs. Almond Meal: What's the Difference?

An almond meal can be used as an alternative to almond flour. It can also be used in cooking and baking.

Almond flour could also contain gluten making it difficult for some people to digest. Gluten-free foods should be avoided if you have celiac Disease or any other digestive condition.

Almond flour may not be considered a "superfood", per se, but it contains healthy fats as well as fibre, protein and vitamin E.

The almond meal provides nutritional benefits such as magnesium, iron, zinc and manganese. It also contains vitamin A, B1 (thiamin), C, and folate.

Because it's made from almonds, almond flour contains monounsaturated fatty acids, while almond oil contains polyunsaturated fatty acids. Both can lower LDL cholesterol and increase HDL cholesterol.

Almond flour is high in antioxidants including phenolics, flavonoids, and proanthocyanidins. These compounds protect against oxidative damage caused by free radicals.

In a study published in Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry, almond flour was found to have an antioxidant activity comparable to blueberries, cranberries or pomegranates and red wine grapes juice.

Almond milk is often sold with almond flour, which has been fortified with additional nutrients.


Can you put spice in a drink?

I love spices adding flavour to food. But how do you make spices liven up when they are added to drinks?

Spices are great because they bring out the best in any beverage. You can add a little cinnamon or nutmeg to any glass of wine, beer or coffee.

Most recipes require ground spices. You will need to use fresh whole spices. This is sensible, but it can be expensive, time-consuming, and requires storage space.

This is where magic happens. With your creativity, you can turn your favorite spices into easy-to-use powdered products. You can then mix the spices into your favorite beverages to make delicious spiced drinks.

These powders can be made in two ways. One way is to grind whole spices into fine powder. Another method is to use a mortar & pestle to grind the spices until they are finely ground.

It doesn't matter what method you choose, the result is easier to measure out than whole spices and easier to store. Plus, the powder keeps well so that you won't run out of stock.

You can even experiment with mixing different spices to create new flavours. Peppermint and spearmint can be combined to make minty water. For spicy ginger tea, use ginger and cardamom capsules.

Once you are proficient in making powdered spice, you can also apply this technique to herbs. You can use basil, rosemary and thyme as common herbs.

It's more than just a spice. It is an essential ingredient that brings flavor and depth into dishes that might otherwise be boring.

There are thousands of Thai recipes, but very few include the authentic flavor. Let's find out how to add these wonderful flavors to your dishes.

Thais have used herbs and spices since ancient times to enhance food and drink. Thai comes from the Sanskrit term for "to prepare".

Most Thais like spicy food, even today. This preference can often be attributed to Thailand's hot weather, which makes it hard to stay warm without hot beverages. Thais are also more likely to consume chili peppers as compared to Americans or Europeans.

Visit a local Asian grocery shop to find out more about Thai spices. There, you'll find a wide variety of ingredients, including dried chilies, fresh basil leaves, curry paste, and even ground black pepper.

How To

Do you know how to make curry paste?

Curry paste includes dried chillies (scallions, shallots), galangal root and lemongrass as well as kaffir lime leaves, garlic, shrimp pastes, sugar, salt and sometimes coconut milk. It is widely used in Thai cuisine.

One of the most widely used condiments in Southeast Asia is curry paste. Curry paste can add a distinct flavour to many dishes like curries.

It's easy to make at-home! Follow the steps below to make it easy!

Step1 - Prepare Ingredients

  • Before you start making this recipe, prepare all ingredients.
  • First, peel and chop shallots (2 cups). Then, cut the galangal roots into small pieces (approximately 3 inches in length), and then set aside.
  • Next, remove and cut the cloves of garlic (about four cloves). Finely chop the lemongrass stems to about 1/2 inch in thickness.
  • After that, you will need to crush dried red chili peppers (about four tablespoons) before removing the seeds (optional).
  • Cut the kaffirlime leaves into small strips, approximately 5 inches in length. Remove the white part of the stem and set it aside.
  • Next, drain and wash the shrimp paste (6 ounces), and then coarsely mashing it.
  • Final, weigh out salt and sugar.

Step2 - Grind Ingredients

  • Blend all ingredients until smooth
  • The texture should be similar to that of peanut butter.
  • If you would like to reduce the amount oil in your dish, you could substitute water for some of it.

Step3 - Add Coconut Milk

  • Add coconut milk to the mixture and mix well.
  • You should slowly add the coconut milk so that it doesn't get too sticky.
  • If you prefer less spice, add less chillies to the recipe and more galangalroot.
  • If you prefer it spicy, add more chillies or less galangal roots. The final result should taste good to you.

Step4 -- Serve

  • Top with your favorite food.
  • Enjoy!
