Frequently Asked Questions
Why should organic be my first choice?
Conventional agriculture has been linked with many health problems including asthma, allergies. You must make healthy choices when buying food.
Here are some tips from the Environmental Working Group (EWG).
Buy organic fruits and vegetables whenever possible.
Look for USDA organic labels on meat, poultry, eggs, milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, and honey.
Avoid processed foods that claim to be "natural" and "no additives."
Always read the ingredient lists. If an ingredient isn't listed, it may be added during processing.
Choose fresh meats over frozen or canned ones. Foods that are frozen or canned often have less nutritionally-rich ingredients, such as high fructosecorn syrup.
Why is organic food important
It is essential for our health to eat organic produce. It is the best way for us to eat healthy food. It's healthier for us as well as more environmentally-friendly because it doesn’t rely on pesticides, fertilizers, or other chemicals.
Organic farming uses natural methods to grow crops without harmful chemicals. This makes organic farming safer for both humans and animals. When you choose organic food, both you and the earth are protected.
However, organic food is good for our health. We all know how unhealthy processed foods can make us feel. Organic fruits and vegetables aren’t subject to chemicals spray. It means that organic fruits and vegetables taste better, last longer, and are brighter.
This is why organic food is so important. Organic is healthy for your health and for the environment.
How do you know if your food is organic?
If you ask any chef, he'll tell you there's nothing more important than fresh ingredients. It's because we feel better when food is well-prepared.
The same goes for our food. We know where our organic food came from and how it has been grown. We also know that organics were not treated with harmful chemicals.
Organic foods can be made without synthetic pesticides. These substances are forbidden for organic farmers.
Growing organic crops is an art. There are many safe ways to grow them.
Many people refer to organic agriculture as sustainable agriculture. This means that while it uses fewer resources than conventional methods, it provides the necessary nutrients to sustain life.
Organic farming practices include crop rotations and cover crops, manure composting, intercropping, and cover cropping. These techniques prevent soil erosion while improving water quality.
They also reduce chemical pollution of waterways. Many of us live in urban areas so we have access to local farms that produce organic produce.
There are two types for organic products certification. One is certified under the USDA National Organic Program. The other is certified independently by certifying authorities. Both require strict organic standards to be adhered to.
USDA seals, or O Seals, may be attached to certified organic products. These symbols indicate that the product meets federal requirements.
What is inorganic foods?
Organic food is grown without pesticides and artificial fertilizers. These chemicals can be harmful for your health.
Organic food is grown naturally without harmful substances such as chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides. These chemicals can be harmful to both animals and people.
Inorganic food includes meat, fish, eggs, milk, cheese, butter, yogurt, honey, grains, vegetables, fruits, spices, and herbs.
Organic refers specifically to the method an agricultural product has been grown. For example, organic farming uses natural methods and soil amendments to grow crops, while conventional farming uses synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.
U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines must be followed when organic food is labeled. The National Organic Program Standards state that organic food must be freed from banned substances like antibiotics, growthhormones, genetically altered organisms (GMOs) and industrial solvents. Organic food must also be free from toxic chemicals, petroleum based fertilizers, sewage effluents and ionizing radiation.
What's the difference between organic foods and inorganic food?
Organic food does not contain pesticides, chemical fertilisers, sewage waste, irradiation, genetic modification. Organic farming practices promote soil health, water quality and animal welfare.
Inorganic foods are grown with pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and sewage sludge. Irradiated foods are treated with radiation; genetically modified organisms (GMO) are created through biological engineering techniques.
Sometimes, the term "natural", is used interchangeably with "organic." Natural does not necessarily have to mean organic. Products labelled "natural", however, may contain synthetic chemicals.
Organic produce is more nutritious than traditional produce due to the fact that it contains less harmful chemicals and pesticides. In addition, organic farmers do not use artificial fertilizers, hormones, antibiotics, or pesticides.
Which are the best organic vegetables?
Organic vegetables are the highest quality and healthiest food source. They are the healthiest of all foods.
Organic produce is organically grown without pesticides. These chemicals pose severe dangers to our health as well as the environment.
Organic produce also contains more nutrients, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytonutrients, enzymes, fibre, and essential fatty acids. They are healthier as we absorb nutrients more easily when we eat organics.
Not only do organic vegetables taste delicious, but they are also safe to eat. Organic produce is free from known side effects.
Every grocery store will carry organic fruit and vegetables. As long as they are produced according to USDA guidelines (which means they meet the standards set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture), they are labelled "organic." If you cannot find organic produce at your local grocery store, check out online retailers such as Amazon or Walmart.
Statistics

- To provide the highest quality products and services to every customer, with a dedicated workforce that puts the customer first and takes the extra step to achieve 100% customer satisfaction and loyalty. (hollinsorganic.com)
- When packaged products indicate they are “made with organic [specific ingredient or food group],” they contain at least 70% organically produced ingredients. (usda.gov)
- Nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids were up to 50 percent higher in organic meats and milk than in conventionally raised products.[3] (en.wikipedia.org)

How To
What happens when you switch from conventional products to organic?
Organic products can be grown without synthetic fertilizers, hormones or antibiotics. They come only from natural sources of water and free-range animals. Organic products are those that do not contain chemicals or other additives. This product was made from natural materials and is free of harmful substances.
The term "natural", refers only to how food was grown. It is used to describe food that has not been processed into its final form, such as fruits. Natural foods are usually fresher than processed foods, as they haven’t been exposed to heat, radiation, chemical preservatives, or other treatments. But, not everyone believes that natural foods are healthy. Experts say that there aren't many differences between organic and conventional food. Both types can be tested for safety and quality. Organic produce contains fewer pesticide and other pollutants than conventionally-grown produce.
Most grocery stores now sell organic products. Check with your local market if you want organic meat, poultry, dairy, eggs, and seafood. Some companies offer only organic products while others have separate sections. Look for USDA Certified Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified, Biodynamic Association Certified, Rainforest Alliance Certified, etc.
These products should not be consumed if you are pregnant. Pesticides can harm unborn infants and babies.
