Almond flour isn't considered "superfood", but it is high in healthy fats, fibres, protein, vitamin E, and sodium.

The nutritional benefits of almond meal include magnesium and copper, iron and zinc, manganese as well as potassium and vitamin C.

Almond flour, made from almonds contains monounsaturated and polyunsaturated oil. Both types help lower LDL (bad) cholesterol levels and increase HDL (good) cholesterol levels.

Almond flour also contains antioxidants like phenolics and flavonoids. These compounds are effective in preventing oxidative damages caused by free radicals.

An experiment published in the Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry showed that almond flour has an equivalent antioxidant activity to that of blueberries.

Almond flour is commonly sold together with almondmilk, which has additional nutrients.


How to store your spices?

Keep them in an airtight container away from light and heat.

To store spices for longer periods of time, place them in a dark cupboard. This will keep the spices fresh and prevent any oxidation.

Your spices should be kept in cool and dry areas, away from direct sunlight. You can lose the aroma and flavor of your spice if it is near a heater or window.

Spices need to be kept in an airtight glass container or tin. If you are storing your spices in plastic containers, ensure there is no moisture.

After opening the seal, make sure to inspect it again. Humidity can cause spoilage.

These powders can be made in two ways. A second method is to grind whole spices into fine powder. Another uses a mortar and pestle to grind the spices into a finer consistency.

No matter which method you use, the powder will be much easier to measure and store than whole spices. Powder also keeps well so you won't run dry.

You can also experiment with different spices to create new flavor combinations. You could make minty water by combining spearmint and peppermint. For spicy ginger tea, use ginger and cardamom capsules.

First, get a large container. Place the bowl under the pressure regulator and pour the crushed garlic inside. Now, turn the pressure regulator to maximum.

Next, turn the handle counterclockwise until you hear a click. The top part of the press should lift off and reveal a flat surface that will allow you to slide the blade back and forth over the bowl. Continue turning the handle counterclockwise to close the blades.

Finally, take out the pressed ginger and enjoy!
