In the winter, I prefer to be inside and spend more time cooking. I love the aroma of spices that linger in my kitchen after I have made dinner. It is one of my favourite things about winter cooking. These are my top five winter spices.

Cinnamon

Warmth and security are my feelings when I smell cinnamon. I love making cinnamon rolls, pumpkin pie, and spice cakes. It is also delicious in butternut squash soups, glazed salmon, and roasted spiced carrots.

Chili Powder

A great crockpot chili is the best way to beat winter blues. It simmered on low for a whole day, bursting with delicious spices and just enough chili powder. It is also delicious in enchiladas. Chili powder is a great addition to fries. It gives them a little kick and adds a lot of flavor.

Ginger

Ginger can spice up almost any dish, sweet or savory. Nearly every cuisine uses ginger. It is used in Asian, Caribbean and Indian cuisines. It is used in Western cuisines to enhance salad dressings, baked goods like muffins and cookies, and tea. This spice can enhance any meal, sweet or drink.

Cumin

Cumin's warm and earthy flavor is perfect for winter cooking. Cumin is rich in antioxidants, making it a healthy and delicious addition to a nutritious diet. Cumin can be used to enhance cold weather dishes such as grilled pasta or cauliflower soup, and even glazed ribs.

Garlic

I love the way spices add flavour to food. But how do you make spices liven up when they are added to drinks?

But most recipes call for ground spices, meaning you'll need fresh whole spices. This is sensible, but it can be expensive, time-consuming, and requires storage space.

That's where the magic happens. With your creativity, you can turn your favorite spices into easy-to-use powdered products. Then you can mix them into your favourite beverages to create delicious spiced drinks.

These powders can be made in two ways. A second method is to grind whole spices into fine powder. A mortar and pestle is another method to grind the spices to a finer consistency.

It doesn't matter what method you choose, the result is easier to measure out than whole spices and easier to store. Powder keeps well, so you will never run out.

You can even experiment with mixing different spices to create new flavours. For example, you could combine peppermint and spearmint leaves to make minty water. To make spicy ginger tea, you can also combine ginger and cardamom pods.

Do You Know How To Make Curry Paste?

Curry paste is made from dried chillies, shallots and galangal root. It also contains lemongrass, galangal root (lemongrass), lemongrass, kaffir Lim leaf, garlic, shrimp paste and sugar. It is used extensively in Thai cuisine.

  • Crush the red chilli peppers with about four tablespoons of water and remove the seeds.
  • Cut the kaffirlime leaves into small strips, approximately 5 inches in length. Set aside the white portion of the stem.
  • After draining the shrimp paste, wash it well and then coarsely smash it.
  • Final, weigh out salt and sugar.

Step2 - Grind Ingredients

  • Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth.
  • The texture should be comparable to peanut butter.
  • Not to worry if the dish contains too much oil, you can use water to replace it.

Step3 - Add Coconut Milk

  • Mix coconut milk with the mixture.
  • You should slowly add the coconut milk so that it doesn't get too sticky.
  • You can reduce the amount of chillies and increase the quantity of galangal root if you prefer it less spicy.
  • You can make it more spicy by adding more chilies and less galangal root. The final result should taste good to you.

Step4 -- Serve

  • Top your favorite foods with this topping.
  • Enjoy!
