Frequently Asked Questions
Almond Meal vs. Almond Flour: What's the Difference?
Almond meal can be substituted for almond flour and is versatile enough to be used in baking, cooking and even making nut-free meals.
Almond flour could also contain gluten making it difficult for some people to digest. It's important to avoid gluten-free diets if your condition is celiac.
Almond flour isn't considered "superfood", but it is high in healthy fats, fibres, protein, vitamin E, and sodium.
The nutritional benefits of the almond meal include magnesium, copper, iron, zinc, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, and vitamins A, B1 (thiamin), and C. In addition, it provides 25 percent of the daily value for folate, 20 percent for niacin, 15 percent for pantothenic acid, and 5 percent for riboflavin.
Almond flour is made with almonds. Almond oils contain polyunsaturated essential fatty acids. Both help to lower LDL (bad), and increase HDL levels.
Almond flour is also rich in antioxidants such as flavonoids and phenolics. These compounds prevent free radical-induced oxidative stress.
A study published in the Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry found that almond flour had antioxidant activity equivalent to that of blueberries, cranberries, pomegranates, and red wine grape juice.
Almond flour is usually sold alongside almond milk, fortified with additional nutrients.
What is the importance of spices?
A spice is a seasoning used to enhance flavour in food. Spices come in various forms, such as powders, liquids, gums, oils, pastes, and seeds. They are also called condiments and flavours.
A great way to spice up your meals is to add some variety. You can spice up dishes with many different spices for more flavor and excitement.
It may be that adding a few drops to your bowl of soup makes it more flavorful. Mixing a couple of cayenne peppers in a cup rice can make it even more delicious.
Fresh ingredients are the best option to spice up your recipes. Look for organic dried herbs when you purchase them. Fresh herbs are more durable than dried herbs.
While some spices are essential for cooking, others might be better to avoid. Cinnamon sticks contain high amounts of coumarin, so they should not be eaten if you have a history of liver disease. Ginger also contains coumarin, but it's much less concentrated. It's safe for those without any history of liver problems.
Thai food includes paprika.
Yes. It is an ingredient in many dishes, including Pad See Ew (Thai fried rice), from eggs cooked in coconut milk.
Thai, Mexican, Spanish, Indian and Chinese cuisines include paprika.
Paprika is a product that dates back over 5,000-years to Ancient Greece. The Hungarian language is what "paprika" means.
Can you put spice in a drink?
I love how spices bring flavour to food. How do you make spices alive in drinks?
Spices are wonderful because they can add depth and flavor to any beverage. There's nothing better than adding cinnamon or nutmeg in your glass of wine or beer, whether it's coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or cocktails.
But, since most recipes call to ground spices, you'll need whole spices. Although this is logical, it can be costly, time-consuming, and takes up storage space.
Here is where the magic happens. With a little creativity, you can make your favorite spices easy to use in powdered form. Mix them with your favorite drinks to make delicious spiced beverages.
There are two ways to go about creating these powders. One method involves grinding whole spices into fine powder. Another uses a mortar and pestle to grind the spices into a finer consistency.
It doesn't matter what method you choose, the result is easier to measure out than whole spices and easier to store. You won't run short of powder, and it keeps well.
You can also experiment with different spices to create new flavor combinations. Peppermint and spearmint can be combined to make minty water. For spicy ginger tea, use ginger and cardamom capsules.
Once you have mastered the art of making powdered spices you can use that same technique for herbs. Some popular herbs include basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme, and sage.
The possibilities are limitless. Use powdered spices to give your beverages extra flavour or to enhance the taste of dishes such as soups, salads, and pasta.
What are the most delicious Thai spices?
Galangal (lemongrass), coriander, turmeric and cinnamon are the best Thai spice. Cayenne pepper and clove are also good spices.
Rose petals, bay leaves and pandan leaves are all valuable spices.
What are the 7 Indian spices that you can use?
Indian spices is a collection Indian spices. They typically include cardamom, cumin, coriander, turmeric, fenugreek, ginger, and asafoetida (also known as hing). Spices add flavour to dishes by blending natural ingredients like meats, vegetables and spices. Spices create unique flavour profiles, which make Indian cuisine so distinctive.
Cardamom has an earthy, sweet flavor with notes of ginger and citrus. It's used in many dishes, including biryani and curries. Cumin is a spice with an earthy smell and a rich, nuanced flavour. It is often added in to curries, dals, or meat dishes. Coriander gives dishes a mild nuttiness due to its sweet citrus aroma. It is often used to season vegetables and lentils.
Turmeric's earthy flavour is enhanced by mustard, spices, pepper hints, and other spices. This spice is used in curries and other dishes. It has a golden color. Fenugreek has a rich aroma, earthy tones, and a slightly bitter flavour. Fenugreek is used to season meat dishes such as kebabs or curries. Ginger is pungent and spicy with hints of citrus. It can be used to spice up soups, curries and chutneys. Asafoetida (hing), has a strong flavor and pungent smell that can be used in place of onion and garlic in certain recipes.
These spices combine to create unique flavours that make Indian cuisine so distinctive.

How To
Are You able to make curry paste?
Curry paste uses dried chillies, shallots, galangal root, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaf, garlic, shrimp paste, sugar, salt, and sometimes coconut milk. It is used extensively in Thai cuisine.
Curry paste is one the most loved condiments in Southeast Asia. Curry paste can add a distinct flavour to many dishes like curries.
It's not difficult to make at home! Just follow our step-by-step guide below:
Step1 - Prepare Ingredients
- Before you start making this recipe, prepare all ingredients.
- Begin by peeling and cutting shallots into small pieces (about 2 cups). Then, cut the galangal roots into small pieces (approximately 3 inches in length), and then set aside.
- Next, peel and slice garlic cloves (about four cloves). Peel and finely mince lemongrass stems (about 1/2 inch thick).
- Crush the red chilli peppers with about four tablespoons of water and remove the seeds.
- Cut the kaffirlime leaves into small strips, approximately 5 inches in length. Set aside the white portion of the stem.
- Then drain the shrimp paste (6 ounces) and then coarsely mash it.
- Finally, measure out sugar and salt.
Step2 - Grind Ingredients
- Mix all ingredients until well combined.
- The texture should be comparable to peanut butter.
- Note: if you want to reduce the amount of oil in the dish, you can substitute some water for some of the oil.
Step3 - Add Coconut Milk
- Mix coconut milk with the mixture.
- To prevent the coconut milk from becoming too sticky, slowly add it.
- You can reduce the amount of chillies and increase the quantity of galangal root if you prefer it less spicy.
- For a more spicy taste, increase the amount of chillies and reduce the use of galangal root. You should enjoy the final product.
Step4: Serve
- Serve with your favourite foods.
- Enjoy!
