However, most recipes call for ground spice so you will need fresh whole spices. It makes sense but is time-consuming and expensive.

This is where magic happens. You can transform your favourite spices into an easy-to-use powdered form with ingenuity. To make tasty spiced drinks, you can combine them with your favourite beverages.

There are two ways to go about creating these powders. One method involves grinding whole spices into fine powder. One method involves using a mortar-and-pestle to grind spices into a finer consistency.

You'll find it easier to make powder than whole spices, regardless of the method. Powder also keeps well so you won't run dry.

You can even experiment with mixing different spices to create new flavours. To make minty water, you can combine spearmint and peppermint leaves. Ginger and cardamom pods can be used to make spicy ginger Tea.

Once you've learned how to make powdered spices from scratch, you can apply the same process to herbs. Some popular herbs include basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme, and sage.

How to Make a Garlic Pressure?

A garlic presse is an indispensable tool for home chefs. It makes it easy to mince garlic into a paste, puree it into soups or salad dressings, or even make a sauce. It can also be used to crush whole garlic cloves into buttery spreads or garlic salt.

However, if you don’t already have a garlic pressing machine, you might wonder how to get one. Here are some tips that will help you get started.

First, get a large container. Then, place the bowl under the press and add the crushed garlic. Now adjust the pressure regulator to the maximum.

Next, turn the handle counterclockwise until you hear a click. The top of the press should lift up and expose a flat surface. This will allow you slide the blade back-and-forth over the bowl. Continue turning the handle in a clockwise direction until the blades come to a close.

Finally, remove the pressed garlic.

Here are some other ways to use this versatile tool:

  • Make minced garlic soups, sauces for salads, dips and seasonings.
  • The press can be used to crush whole garlic cloves and make buttery spread.
  • Put whole garlic cloves on top of pizza dough, before you bake
