Frequently Asked Questions

What are the 11 Indian spice blends?

Indian cuisine includes eleven spices, including cumin, coriander, cumin, mustard, fennel, and nigella seed, as well as black pepper, cloves and cinnamon sticks, dry red chill powder, turmeric, cardamom, and black pepper.

These ingredients are used in almost every dish. These spices impart a distinct flavor to dishes such as curries (lentils), curries and chutneys. They also add a unique taste to rice, bread, and sweets.

Spices are also important for health reasons. For example, turmeric helps fight cancer cells. Cloves protect against bad breath. Black pepper lowers cholesterol. Cinnamon lowers blood pressure. And ginger aids digestion.

A spice rack is a fantastic kitchen tool that allows you experiment with different combinations. You can either make your own spice blends or purchase ready-made spices.

Some people prefer not to add any spices to their food. They believe spices only mask natural flavor and do little to enhance them. A pinch of salt and pepper can enhance the flavor of your food.

Most chefs agree spices are essential to culinary art. Many dishes would lack flavor and be boring without them. So next time you're feeling adventurous, why not try a new recipe and see what happens?

Is Thai cuisine made with garlic?

Thai cuisine includes garlic. Garlic is often used to make Thai dishes, including salads and soups, stir-fries and curries, as well as sauces and sauces.

Garlic is often fried in Thailand with ginger, shallots, and other spices. It is also often eaten with sticky rice.

It is common to mince garlic and then mix it with chili paste, salt, fish sauce and lime juice. This mixture is called "Nam Phrik" (namphrik). Nam phrik is often accompanied by grilled chicken or beef.

What are the most common spices, condiments and seasonings that Thais use in their cuisine?

Thai cuisine is a blend of influences from Asia. Its roots are found in India and China, as well as Southeast Asia.

Freshness, the essential ingredient of Thai cuisine, is key. Ingredients that are quickly cooked and picked at the right time will have more flavour. This is the reason meat, fish, fruits and vegetables are often eaten raw.

Spices and sauces give dishes depth and color. Fresh basil, cilantro, mint, coriander (cilantro), lemongrass, ginger, turmeric, garlic, chillies, chilli paste, soy sauce, tamarind juice, oyster sauce, palm sugar, coconut milk, lime leaves, galangal root, curry powder, shrimp paste, fish sauce, tamarind water, rice vinegar, etc. are commonly used.

What are the most important flavours in Thai cuisine?

Thai cuisine includes several distinct regional cuisines. These include Northern, Central and Southern Thai food. Each region has a distinct flavour profile.

Thai food can be described as sweet, salty or sour.

Thais consider sweetness essential because it makes dishes taste good. Sweet ingredients such as palm sugar (gula melaka) and coconut milk play a significant role in Thai cuisine.

Thailand is also known for its sourness. Hot dishes often pair well with sour foods. This combination helps balance out the heat.

Spicy food is another crucial ingredient in Thai food. Spices such as chilli pepper, galangal, ginger root, and garlic are used extensively in Thai recipes.

What are the uses of Thai spice?

We all have heard the term Thai spices, but we don't understand what it really means. We are left wondering why we don't eat more Thai spice when our mouths water.

It's much more than a spice. It is an important ingredient that gives flavor and depth to bland dishes.

Although there are many recipes that call for Thai spices in large numbers, very few recipes actually use the true thing. Let's find out how to add these wonderful flavors to your dishes.

Thais have used herbs and spices since ancient times to enhance food and drink. Thai is the Sanskrit word that means "to cook".

Many Thais love spicy foods, even today. This preference can often be attributed to Thailand's hot weather, which makes it hard to stay warm without hot beverages. Thais are also more likely to consume chili peppers as compared to Americans or Europeans.

A local Asian grocery store is the best place to learn more about Thai spice. There you will find a variety of ingredients such as dried chilies fresh basil leaves curry paste and ground black pepper.

You might also find whole peppercorns and cloves as well as cinnamon sticks, star anise pods (star anise), cardamom pods ginger root, cumin seeds coriander seeds seeds, fennel seed, nutmeg mace, mustard seeds, saffron threads garlic, onion, rice vinegar, and tamarind juice.

There are two types of spices in Thai cuisine: dry and wet. The dry spices are usually ground while the wet spices are crushed or pounded finely.

Dry spices are often added to a dish directly. For example, ground red pepper is sprinkled onto chicken soup. Mixing wet spices with oil or butter can create a paste.

Wet spices are usually used in marinades, sauces, and dressings. Wet spices are used in many dishes, including fish sauce, oyster, sesame, sesame, sesame oil and curry paste.

If you want to try making Thai dishes at home, you need to know which spices go well with certain ingredients.

Red pepper flakes are recommended for beef. Use white pepper instead if you have seafood such as shrimp.

You can also order online if your Asian market is not available. You can find everything here, from dried chilies to exotic spices and herbs.

So next time you get hungry, think about putting on a little extra heat by whipping up one of these tasty Thai recipes!

Are You able to make curry paste?

Curry paste is made from dried chillies, shallots and galangal root. It also contains lemongrass, galangal root (lemongrass), lemongrass, kaffir Lim leaf, garlic, shrimp paste and sugar. It is used extensively in Thai cuisine.

Curry paste is a very popular condiment in Southeast Asia. It adds a unique flavour to many dishes, such as curries, soups, stir-fries, salads, rice dishes, noodles, and desserts.

It's easy to make at-home! Follow our step-by–step guide below.

Step1 - Prepare Ingredients

  • You need to prepare all ingredients before starting this recipe.
  • Peel and chop shallots (about two cups). Next, cut galangal root into small chunks (about 3 inches) and put aside.
  • Next, remove and cut the cloves of garlic (about four cloves). Next, peel and mince the lemongrass stems (about 1/2-inch thick).
  • Then, crush dried red chilli peppers (about four tablespoons) and remove the seeds (optional).
  • Next, cut the kaffir-lime leaves into thin strips (5 inches). Remove the white part of the stem and set it aside.
  • After draining the shrimp paste, wash it well and then coarsely smash it.
  • Final, weigh out salt and sugar.

Step2 - Grind Ingredients

  • Blend all ingredients together until smooth.
  • The texture should be very similar to peanut butter.
  • Note: if you want to reduce the amount of oil in the dish, you can substitute some water for some of the oil.

Step3 - Add Coconut Milk

  • Mix coconut milk with the mixture.
  • You should slowly add the coconut milk so that it doesn't get too sticky.
  • If you prefer less spicy, add fewer chillies and more galangal root.
  • You can make it more spicy by adding more chilies and less galangal root. The final result should taste delicious to you.

Step4 -- Serve

  • Serve on top of your favourite foods.
  • Enjoy!
