Can you add spice into a drink

I love how spices bring flavour to food. But how can you make them live when they're used in drinks.

Spices add a wonderful depth to any beverage. Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to your favorite beverage, such as coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.

Most recipes require ground spices. You will need to use fresh whole spices. While this makes sense, it is costly, takes time and requires storage space.

You can experiment with mixing spices to create different flavours. Peppermint and spearmint can be combined to make minty water. Or ginger and cardamom pods to make spicy ginger tea.

Once you are proficient in making powdered spice, you can also apply this technique to herbs. You can use basil, rosemary and thyme as common herbs.

The possibilities are endless. Powdered spices can enhance the flavor and texture of beverages, such as soups or salads, as well as the taste of pasta.


What are the most common spices, condiments and seasonings that Thais use in their cuisine?

Thai cuisine is a blend of influences from Asia. Its roots lie in India, China, and Southeast Asia.

Freshness is the most important ingredient in Thai food. Ingredients that are quickly cooked and picked at the right time will have more flavour. This is why meats, fish, vegetables and fruits are often eaten raw and hot.

Spices and sauces add complexity and fragrance to dishes. Fresh basil, cilantro, mint, coriander (cilantro), lemongrass, ginger, turmeric, garlic, chillies, chilli paste, soy sauce, tamarind juice, oyster sauce, palm sugar, coconut milk, lime leaves, galangal root, curry powder, shrimp paste, fish sauce, tamarind water, rice vinegar, etc. These ingredients are common.


What is the difference between curried curry and curried curry?

There is no difference in spelling. Both words refer the same thing: Indian food that uses meats and vegetables along with different seasonings.

Curry derives its name from the Hindi word kari which means "to rub." The spice mixture is then applied to the food. Curried foods are generally cooked until they become golden.

Curried dishes are no longer reserved for special occasions. They're now commonplace in India. They include chicken, beef and lamb as well as fish, vegetables and rice.

What's the Difference Between Cooking With Whole vs. Ground Spices?

There is no difference between cooking whole spices and with ground spices. After harvesting, spices are ground. The quality is the same.

However, the price difference is substantial. Because of the labor involved in making whole spices, they cost more. But the flavour is worth it.

If you purchase whole spices in bulk, you might get an additional discount. You might get a discount if your entire bag is of cinnamon sticks.

The same is true for nutmeg cloves ginger, cardamom, and ginger. You might be able to save money by buying these spices in bulk.

Whole spices can also last longer than the ground spices. Ground spices quickly lose their potency due to oxidation.

But the main reason why we recommend purchasing whole spices is that they add a lot of character to recipes.

For instance, you can make a delicious curry with whole turmeric instead of ground turmeric. Or you can grind whole coriander seeds to create a spice blend for chicken dishes.

Grinding spices takes time. It makes sense to purchase large quantities of whole spices when you are buying them. So you don't run short of spices.


Does Thai use ginger?

The answer is yes. The traditional Thai cooking uses ginger heavily. Ginger is used extensively in Thai traditional cooking. It's often added to soups and stir-fries, and it's also common in desserts and drinks like lassis.

Ginger is a native to China and Japan. The origins of ginger go back over 5,000 year. It is believed it originated in Southeast Asia. There, it was used for medicinal purposes.

Ginger has been known to improve digestion and reduce nausea. It may even help prevent migraines. Ginger can also be used to treat arthritis, muscle spasms, joint pains, or relieve them.

Ginger is often fresh in Thailand. Ginger root is first cut into thin strips before drying and stored. Ginger root can be purchased in cans or jars at Asian markets.


Almond Meal vs. Almond Flour: What's the Difference?

An almond meal can be used as an alternative to almond flour. It can also be used in cooking and baking.

Almond flour can also contain gluten which makes it more difficult to digest. If you have celiac disease or another digestive disorder, it's essential to avoid gluten-free foods.

Almond flour isn't considered "superfood", but it is high in healthy fats, fibres, protein, vitamin E, and sodium.

The almond meal provides nutritional benefits such as magnesium, iron, zinc and manganese. It also contains vitamin A, B1 (thiamin), C, and folate.

Almond flour is made with almonds. Almond oils contain polyunsaturated essential fatty acids. Both types reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol and increase HDL ("good") cholesterol.

Almond flour is high in antioxidants including phenolics, flavonoids, and proanthocyanidins. These compounds are effective in preventing oxidative damages caused by free radicals.

In a study published in Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry, almond flour was found to have an antioxidant activity comparable to blueberries, cranberries or pomegranates and red wine grapes juice.

Almond flour is usually sold alongside almond milk, fortified with additional nutrients.

How to Make a Garlic Press

A garlic press can be one of the most important tools in a home cook's toolbox. This allows you to quickly mince garlic and make smooth sauces, soups, and salad dressings. It is great for crushing whole garlic cloves in a buttery spread, or garlic salt.

However, if you don’t already have a garlic pressing machine, you might wonder how to get one. We have some tips to help get you started.

First, get a large container. Place the bowl underneath the press and pour the crushed garlic into it. Now, adjust the pressure regulator valve until it reaches maximum.

Next, turn the handle clockwise until you hear a click. The top end of the press should lift and reveal a flat area that allows you to slide your blade back and forth across the bowl. Continue to turn the handle counterclockwise, until the blades are closed.

Finally, take out the pressed ginger and enjoy!

Here are some other ways to use this versatile tool:

  • Garlic mince can be added to soups or sauces, salads or dips.
  • Use the press to crush whole garlic cloves into a buttery spread
  • Put whole garlic cloves on top of pizza dough, before you bake
  • Make roasted garlic mashed potatoes, or creamy polenta.
