Frequently Asked Questions
What's the Difference Between Cooking With Whole vs. Ground Spices?
There are no significant differences in the cooking of whole and ground spices. All spices are ground after harvesting. There is no quality difference.
The price difference is however significant. Whole spices cost more because of the labour involved in processing them. The flavor is well worth the effort.
Buy whole spices and you'll often receive additional discounts. You might get a discount if your entire bag is of cinnamon sticks.
This is true for cloves, ginger and cardamom. If you purchase these spices in bulk, you may be able to save money.
Whole spices can also last longer than the ground spices. Ground spices quickly lose their potency due to oxidation.
However, the main reason we recommend whole spices is because they add character to recipes.
For instance, you can make a delicious curry with whole turmeric instead of ground turmeric. To make a spice mixture for chicken dishes, you can grind whole coriander seed.
It takes time to grind spices. It is sensible to purchase large quantities when buying whole spices. You won't run low on spices if you buy large quantities.
What's the importance of spices in your life?
A spice is an ingredient that adds flavor to food. Spices can take many forms such as powders (liquids), oils, pastes and seeds. They can also be called condiments or flavours.
Spice up your meals with a variety of spices. For extra flavor and excitement, you can add many spices to your dishes.
It may be that adding a few drops to your bowl of soup makes it more flavorful. A cup of cooked rice could be made more delicious by adding a few cayenne to the soup.
The best way to experiment with spicing recipes is to use fresh ingredients. When you are buying dried herbs, make sure they are organic. Fresh herbs will last longer than dried.
Certain spices are essential in cooking. However, you may prefer to avoid some. If you have a history liver disease, cinnamon sticks should be avoided. Ginger also contains some coumarin but it is less concentrated. It is safe for people without a history or liver disease.
Which are the best Thai spice?
Galangal (lemongrass), coriander, turmeric and cinnamon are the best Thai spice. You can also use clove, cardamom black peppercorn, clove, cardamom clove, cardamom, fennel seed, star anise, cloves and cayenne pepper as spices.
Some other valuable spices include rose petals, bay leaves, curry leaves, pandan leaves, kaffir lime leaves, vanilla beans, tamarind pods, lemon grass, basil, and mint.
What are the 11 Indian spice blends?
Indian cuisine is made up of eleven spices: coriander seeds; cumin seeds; fennel and mustard seeds; nigella and black pepper; cloves, cinnamon sticks; dry red chili powder; turmeric and cardamom.
These ingredients are used in almost every dish. These spices are used in almost every dish, including curries, curries, chutneys (pickles), rice, bread and sweets.
For health reasons, spices are also beneficial. To fight cancer cells, turmeric is an example. Cloves help protect against bad breath. Black pepper lowers cholesterol. Cinnamon lowers blood pressure. And ginger aids digestion.
The spice rack is an excellent kitchen tool as it allows you to experiment and create new combinations of flavors. You can make your spice mix or buy ready-made blends that contain many of the essential spices.
Some people choose not to add spice to their food. They believe that spices only mask natural flavors and do nothing to improve them. A pinch of salt or pepper will not harm your dishes.
Many chefs agree that spices play a crucial role in culinary art. Many dishes would be bland and tasteless without spices. Next time you feel inspired, try a new recipe.

- You need to prepare all ingredients before starting this recipe.
- Begin by peeling and cutting shallots into small pieces (about 2 cups). Next, cut galangal root into small chunks (about 3 inches) and put aside.
- Next, you will need to peel and slice the garlic cloves (about 4 cloves). The lemongrass stems should be roughly 1/2 inch thick.
- After that, you will need to crush dried red chili peppers (about four tablespoons) before removing the seeds (optional).
- Next, cut kaffir lime leaves into thin strips (about 5 inches long). Set aside the white portion of the stem.
- Then drain the shrimp paste (6 ounces) and then coarsely mash it.
- Measure out the sugar and salt.
Step2 - Grind Ingredients
- Grind all ingredients together until smooth.

- You may prefer it hotter, so add more chilies or less galangalroot. The final product should be tasty to you.
Step4 -- Serve
- Serve on top of your favourite foods.
- Enjoy!
