What is the difference between cooking Whole and Ground Spices? Ground Spices?

There are no differences between cooking with whole spices or ground spices. All spices can be ground once they have been harvested. It doesn't make a difference in terms of quality.

The price difference is however significant. Whole spices are more expensive due to the labour required for processing them. But the flavour is worth it.

You'll often find extra discounts for bulk purchases when you buy whole spices. You might get a discount if your entire bag is of cinnamon sticks.

Thailand has two main ingredients that make up the heart and soul of all dishes: rice, curry, and steamed vegetables. These two ingredients combine to produce a unique flavor.

We've all heard the term "Thai spice" thrown around without knowing exactly what it means. We are left wondering why we don't eat more Thai spice when our mouths water.

It isn't just any spice. It is an important ingredient that gives flavor and depth to bland dishes.

While there are thousands of Thai-inspired recipes out there, few of them contain the real thing. Let's discuss how to incorporate these tasty flavors into your meals.

As far back as ancient times, Thais have been cooking with herbs and spices to add flavor to food and beverages. Thai, which means "to make", comes from the Sanskrit word.

Even today, most Thais prefer to eat spicy foods. This preference is often attributed to the hot weather in Thailand, which makes it difficult to keep warm without something hot to drink. Thais are also more likely to consume chili peppers as compared to Americans or Europeans.

How To

Do you know how to make curry paste?

Curry paste contains dried chillies and shallots, galangal roots, lemongrass (kaffir lime leaf), garlic, shrimp paste, sugar and salt. It's used extensively in Thai cuisine.

Curry paste is a popular condiment in Southeast Asia. This unique flavor can be added to many dishes including curries, soups and stir-fries as well as rice dishes, noodles, desserts, and rice dishes.

It's very simple to make this at home. Follow the steps below to make it easy!

Step1 - Prepare Ingredients

  • Before you can start the recipe, it is important to have all the ingredients ready.
  • To begin, you will need to peel and chop shallots (about 2 cups). Next, chop galangal root into small pieces (3 inches in length) and place aside.
  • Next, peel and slice garlic cloves (about four cloves). Finely chop the lemongrass stems to about 1/2 inch in thickness.
  • Then, crush dried red chilli peppers (about four tablespoons) and remove the seeds (optional).
  • Next, trim the kaffir lime leaves into strips about 5 inches in length. The white part of your stem should be removed and put aside.
  • Once the shrimp paste has been drained, rinse it and then coarsely crush it.
  • Finally, measure the sugar and salt.

Step2 - Grind Ingredients

  • Mix all ingredients until well combined.
  • The texture should be similar to that of peanut butter.
  • Take note: If you are looking to reduce oil in your dish you can add water to the mix.

Step3 - Add Coconut Milk

  • Add coconut milk to the mixture, and mix well.
  • Slowly add coconut milk to ensure that the paste doesn't become too sticky.
  • If you prefer less spicy, add fewer chillies and more galangal root.
  • You can make it more spicy by adding more chilies and less galangal root. You should enjoy the final product.

Step4: Serve

  • Top it with your favorite foods.
  • Enjoy!
