What's the difference between curried and curry?

The spellings are the same. Both words refer the same thing: Indian food that uses meats and vegetables along with different seasonings.

Curry is derived in Hindi from kari, which means to rub. This refers the way that the spice mix is applied onto the food. Curried foods should be cooked until they are golden brown.

Most recipes call for ground spices. This means that you'll need fresh whole spice. Although this is logical, it can be costly, time-consuming, and takes up storage space.

That's where the magic happens. It's possible to transform your favorite spices into a powdered form that is easy to use with a bit of creativity. To make tasty spiced drinks, you can combine them with your favourite beverages.

Two ways can you make powders. One method involves grinding whole spices to a fine powder. Another method is to use a mortar & pestle to grind the spices until they are finely ground.

No matter which method you use, the powder will be much easier to measure and store than whole spices. Powder also keeps well so you won't run dry.

You can also experiment with different spices to create new flavor combinations. You could make minty water by combining spearmint and peppermint. Ginger and cardamom pods can be used to make spicy ginger Tea.

Once you've learned how to make powdered spices from scratch, you can apply the same process to herbs. Oregano and rosemary are all popular herbs.

There are so many possibilities. Use powdered spices to give your beverages extra flavour or to enhance the taste of dishes such as soups, salads, and pasta.

Almond Flour and Almond Meal: What is the Difference?

A almond meal is a versatile almond flour alternative that can be used to bake, cook, or even make nut-free dishes.

Almond flour can also contain gluten which makes it more difficult to digest. It is important to avoid gluten-free products if you have celiac or other digestive disorders.

Almond flour may not be considered a "superfood", per se, but it contains healthy fats as well as fibre, protein and vitamin E.

The nutritional benefits of almond meal include magnesium and copper, iron and zinc, manganese as well as potassium and vitamin C.

Almond flour is made with almonds. Almond oils contain polyunsaturated essential fatty acids. Both types reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol and increase HDL ("good") cholesterol.

Almond flour is high in antioxidants including phenolics, flavonoids, and proanthocyanidins. These compounds prevent free radical-induced oxidative stress.

A study published in the Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry found that almond flour had antioxidant activity equivalent to that of blueberries, cranberries, pomegranates, and red wine grape juice.

Almond flour can be purchased with almond milk that has been supplemented with nutrients.

How To Make A Garlic Press?

A garlic press is a valuable tool in every home cook's kitchen. It allows you to efficiently mince garlic into a paste or puree it into a smooth sauce, soup, or salad dressing. It's also great for crushing whole garlic cloves into a buttery spread or garlic salt.
