The end of summer is approaching when the sun starts to set earlier and a chill settles in the air.

The summer season in America is one of the most popular seasons. Summertime in America is full of beach and pool trips, holidays abroad, parties, and food. It is a fact that Americans are food lovers. There are many foods other than hamburgers and dogs that are old favorites but don't receive enough attention.

We will be highlighting the foods that make summer a great season.

Serving the Classics

Planning the meal for an event, such as a family reunion or a birthday party, should be your last concern. You can't go astray when it comes to summer foods. If you really want to impress your guests, then try something different than hot dogs or hamburgers. These dishes are sure to impress your guests.

  • Baby Ribs These baby back ribs are available in two different flavors: a wet marinade or a dry rub. They can be grilled until they fall off the bone.
  • Crab Cakesspan size="font weight: 400 ;">- These little gems, which are more popular along the beaches and coasts of America, are worth trying.
  • Fish Tacos Tacos can be made from a variety of fishes, such as halibut or tilapia. Other fishes include snapper, cod, catfish, mahi-mahi and mahi-mahi.
  • Fried Catfish: This is a popular dish in the southern US. The fish is coated in a batter, then deep-fried until golden brown.
  • Fried Green Tomatoes: Green tomatoes are picked from the plant, before they turn red. The tomatoes are sliced, then covered in batter and seasonings and fried. Serve hot with ranch dressing.
  • Pasta Salad: This cold pasta dish is made with fusilli, cherry tomatoes halved, diced red bell peppers, and onions. This dish is given a sweet twist by being tossed in Italian dressing.
  • Veggie & Meat - Simply put, it's meat and veggies on a kabob. Onions and bell peppers are common kabob vegetables. They cook at a similar rate to the meat, chicken or sausage that they're paired with. The juices from the meat help to prevent the vegetables from drying over the flames of the grill.

Enjoy these traditional favorites

Classics are always a hit. Everyone loves the classics. All of these foods are well-known for their connection with Summer in America. Some foodies are unaware of other equally delicious foods and beverages. They are my favorites and they coincide with the warmest months.

What are your top five summer foods?

  • Hobo dinner foil packs: This meal is traditionally cooked over hot coals. It's a simple dish with potatoes, carrots and onions, and hamburger meat seasoned in foil, and then grilled or baked until it's perfect.
  • Pink Lemonade is a pink version of a classic. The pink color of this popular summertime beverage is traditionally achieved by adding strawberries or other red fruits to the pitcher.
  • Peach Cobbler - A warm dessert made with southern yellow peaches and topped off with biscuit or batter mix. It is similar to a pie, with the bottom and top crusts. However, it's usually made in a Pyrex plate instead of a traditional pie plate.
  • Pina Colada is a cocktail that combines rum, coconut cream or milk, and pineapple juice. It's usually served blended or shaken with ice. It's the perfect summer drink!
  • Grilled Corn On The Cob: Corn is a favorite side dish that goes well with any grilled meat. Grilled corn on the Cob is a great side dish to serve with chicken, steak, or barbecue. Grill them with the husk still on for a crispier corn cob, or wrap them up in foil and season with butter, salt and pepper for perfectly seasoned corn.

Grilled Corn On The Cob

This corn on the cob recipe is so easy to prepare and delicious that you will never want to make anything else.

Preparation time: Five minutes

Cook Time 15 minutes

Yield Four servings

  • 1 tbsp. Olive oil
  • Pacific Blue kosher flake Salt and freshly grounded Black peppercorns
  • 2 tbsp. 2 tbsp.

Instructions:

  1. Heat a grill on medium heat (375-450 degrees Fahrenheit).
  2. Shuck the corn. Each corn cob should be placed in a heavy-duty aluminum foil sheet. Rub with olive oil, and sprinkle with pepper and salt. Add a few butter pats (1/2 tablespoon per packet) to the top. Seal the foil around the corn. Do not make it too tight.
  3. Place packets of corn on grill grates. Grill for 20-25 minutes, rotating the pan occasionally, until the corn is bright yellow.

Chef's Notes:

Almond Flour or Almond Meal? What is the difference?

Almond meal can be substituted for almond flour and is versatile enough to be used in baking, cooking and even making nut-free meals.

Almond flour can also be gluten-containing, which can make it difficult to digest. Avoid gluten-free food if you have celiac disease, or any other digestive disorder.

Although almond flour isn’t considered to be a “superfood”, it is rich in healthy fats and fibre.

The nutritional benefits of almond meal include magnesium and copper, iron and zinc, manganese as well as potassium and vitamin C.

Because it's made from almonds, almond flour contains monounsaturated fatty acids, while almond oil contains polyunsaturated fatty acids. Both types reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol and increase HDL ("good") cholesterol.

Almond flour is also rich in antioxidants such as flavonoids and phenolics. These compounds protect against oxidative damage caused by free radicals.

The Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry published a study that found almond flour to have the same antioxidant activity as blueberries, cranberries and pomegranates.

Almond flour is usually sold alongside almond milk, fortified with additional nutrients.

What is the most recognizable ingredient in Thai food?

Thailand's main ingredients for all dishes are rice and curry. This is how you get an unforgettable flavor.

Thais call this combination "Khao pad Krai," which translates to "the best dish." This is because the two basic foods can be combined to create something truly delicious and irresistible.

It's the same for your life. If you combine hard work with perseverance, you can achieve great success.

As Khao Pad Krai did, passion and purpose can be combined to make you successful. When you combine these ingredients, you can create something remarkable.

Next time you feel like eating Thai food, remember that it takes more than just rice and curry to make a memorable meal. You'll be amazed at how much fun you can have experimenting with different ingredients!

How To

Are you a master of making curry paste?

Curry paste includes dried chillies (scallions, shallots), galangal root and lemongrass as well as kaffir lime leaves, garlic, shrimp pastes, sugar, salt and sometimes coconut milk. It is an important ingredient in Thai cuisine.

Curry paste is a very popular condiment in Southeast Asia. It gives many dishes a unique taste, including curries, soups stir-fries, stir-fries and salads.

It's very simple to make this at home. Just follow our step-by-step guide below:

Step1 - Prepare Ingredients

  • Before you start this recipe, make sure that all ingredients are prepared.
  • Start by peeling and chopping shallots (about 2 cups). Cut galangal root in small pieces, about 3 inches long. Set aside.
  • Next, peel and slice garlic cloves (about four cloves). Peel and finely mince lemongrass stems (about 1/2 inch thick).
  • You can then crush the red chilli bell peppers into small pieces (about 4 tablespoons), and then you can remove the seeds (optional).
  • Next, slice the kaffir lime leaves in thin strips of about 5 inches. The white part of your stem should be removed and put aside.
  • Then drain the shrimp paste (6 ounces) and then coarsely mash it.
  • Finally, measure the sugar and salt.

Step2 - Grind Ingredients

  • Mix all ingredients until well combined.
  • The texture should be similar to that of peanut butter.
  • You can replace some oil with water if you wish to reduce the oil content of your dish.

Step3 - Add Coconut Milk

  • Mix the coconut milk into the mixture.
  • Slowly add coconut milk to ensure that the paste doesn't become too sticky.
  • If you like it milder, reduce the number of chillies used and add more galangal root.
  • If you like it spicier, add more chillies and less galangal root. The final product should be tasty to you.

Step4 – Serve

  • Serve with your favourite foods.
  • Enjoy!
