Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference of curry and curried

It doesn't matter how the spelling is written. Both words refer to the same thing: an Indian dish combining meat or vegetables with various seasonings.

Curry is derived in Hindi from kari, which means to rub. This refers the way that the spice mix is applied onto the food. Curry is typically prepared until the food is golden brown.

Curried dishes were once reserved for special occasions, but today, they're enjoyed frequently throughout India. You can choose from chicken, beef, lamb or fish as well as vegetables and rice.

Curried dishes are typically served alongside plain white rice. A raita (a yogurt-based sauce) or a chutney is another common accompaniment.

Does Thai use ginger?

The answer is yes. Traditional Thai cuisine uses ginger extensively. It is often added to stir-fries and soups and is also commonly used in desserts and drinks such as lassis.

Ginger is a common ginger plant in China, Japan, Korea, and elsewhere. Its origins can be traced back to more than 5,000years ago. It is believed to have originated from Southeast Asia, where it was cultivated medicinally.

Ginger is well-known for its ability to relieve nausea and stimulate digestion. It may even help prevent migraines. Ginger can also be used to treat arthritis, muscle spasms, joint pains, or relieve them.

Ginger is most commonly used fresh in Thailand. It is then cut into thin strips and dried. In Asian markets, you can purchase ginger root in cans or in jars.

Does Thai food have cumin in it?

Cumin is the most used spice in Thai cuisine. Many Thai dishes are made with cumin, garlic, ginger and coriander.

Some popular uses for cumin in Thai cooking include stir-fries, curries, soups and salads. Cumin can be used in marinades, dressings, sauces, and other preparations. While cumin gives Thai food its distinctive flavour, other spices are also at play.

You can add flavours such as fish sauce, garlic ginger, chili peppers, and ginger to the mix. By combining these spices in different proportions, chefs can create signature dishes that capture the essence of Thai cuisine.

Cumin is essential to Thai cooking. It's often used in Thai traditional dishes. This spice gives Thai food a distinct and complex flavor. Cumin spices many Thai dishes and is an integral part of Thai cuisine.

Chefs can make delicious, unique Thai dishes by adding cumin to their recipes. Cumin is a key component in many Thai dishes.

How To

How to Make a Garlic Pressure?

A garlic press is a valuable tool in every home cook's kitchen. It allows you to efficiently mince garlic into a paste or puree it into a smooth sauce, soup, or salad dressing. It is also useful for crushing whole cloves of garlic into buttery spreads and garlic salt.

It's possible to be confused if you don’t yet own a garlicpress. Here are some tips to get you started.

First, get a large container. Place the bowl underneath the press and pour the crushed garlic into it. Now, turn the pressure regulator to maximum.

Next, turn the handle counterclockwise until you hear a click. The top portion of the press should come off, revealing a flat surface. You can slide the blade across the bowl. Keep turning the handle clockwise until you reach the end of the blades.

Finally, take the pressed garlic out and enjoy!

Here are some more ways to use this versatile instrument:

  • Make minced garlic soups, sauces for salads, dips and seasonings.
  • The press can be used to crush whole garlic cloves and make buttery spread.
  • Make pizza dough by crushing whole cloves.
  • Make roasted garlic mashed potatoes, or creamy polenta.
  • Use the press to make homemade pesto out of garlic
  • Puree garlic into a smooth vinaigrette
