Frequently Asked Questions
Is it possible to add spice to a drink?
It's amazing how spices can add flavour and flavor to food. But how do you make spices liven up when they are added to drinks?
Spices add a wonderful depth to any beverage. You can add a little cinnamon or nutmeg to any glass of wine, beer or coffee.
Most recipes require ground spices. You will need to use fresh whole spices. Although this is logical, it can be costly, time-consuming, and takes up storage space.
Here's where the magic happens. With some creativity, your favourite spices can be made into powdered forms that are easy to use. To make tasty spiced drinks, you can combine them with your favourite beverages.
There are two possible ways to create these powders. A second method is to grind whole spices into fine powder. Another way is to grind the spices in a mortar and pestle.
No matter which method you use, the powder will be much easier to measure and store than whole spices. The powder is stable so you don't run low on stock.
You can also experiment with different spices to create new flavor combinations. Peppermint and spearmint can be combined to make minty water. To make spicy ginger tea, you can also combine ginger and cardamom pods.
Once you've mastered making powdered spices, you can apply the same technique to herbs. Oregano and rosemary are all popular herbs.
The possibilities are limitless. You can use powdered spice to enhance the flavour of your drinks or dishes like soups, salads, or pasta.
Does Thai use ginger?
The answer is yes. Traditional Thai cooking makes extensive use of ginger. Ginger is often used in stir-fries and soups, as well as desserts and drinks, such as lassis.
Ginger is an indigenous plant of China, Japan and Korea. Its roots date back more that 5,000 years. It is believed to have originated in Southeast Asia, where it was cultivated for medicinal purposes.
Ginger is well-known for its ability to relieve nausea and stimulate digestion. It may even help prevent migraines. Ginger also helps to relieve muscle spasms, reduce joint pain, and treat arthritis.
Ginger is often fresh in Thailand. Ginger root is first cut into thin strips before drying and stored. In Asian markets, you can purchase ginger root in cans or in jars.
Almond Flour vs. Almond Meal: What's the Difference?
Almond meal can be substituted for almond flour and is versatile enough to be used in baking, cooking and even making nut-free meals.
Almond flour might also contain gluten, which can make it hard to digest. It's important to avoid gluten-free diets if your condition is celiac.
Almond flour isn't considered "superfood", but it is high in healthy fats, fibres, protein, vitamin E, and sodium.
The nutritional benefits of the almond meal include magnesium, copper, iron, zinc, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, and vitamins A, B1 (thiamin), and C. In addition, it provides 25 percent of the daily value for folate, 20 percent for niacin, 15 percent for pantothenic acid, and 5 percent for riboflavin.
Almond flour is made of almonds. Almond oil is made from polyunsaturated, monounsaturated, fatty oils. Both types lower LDL (bad cholesterol) and increase HDL(good cholesterol).
Almond flour is high in antioxidants including phenolics, flavonoids, and proanthocyanidins. These compounds protect against free radical-induced oxidative harm.
An experiment published in the Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry showed that almond flour has an equivalent antioxidant activity to that of blueberries.
Almond milk is often sold with almond flour, which has been fortified with additional nutrients.

How To
How to Cut Shiitake Mushrooms
The shiitakes seem to be doing well. There's nothing wrong about them. But how do they be cut? We have tried everything, even using scissors. But they keep falling out our hands. What's going on here?
The trick is simple. Use a rubber band to secure the stem of your mushroom. That way, you won't slip and cut yourself.
You may be thinking that this seems too easy. It is. But it's also very useful.
The rubber band makes your stem slippery and it feels very natural when you pick it it up. It doesn't hurt to keep the stem in place.
Now, go ahead and try it. It will be so much easier to cut mushrooms than ever before.
