Frequently Asked Questions

Thai cuisine often uses garlic. Garlic is commonly added to salads.
Garlic is often fried in Thailand with ginger, shallots, and other spices. It is also often eaten with sticky rice.
Garlic is best chopped finely and mixed with oil, chilli paste, fish sauce, lime juice and oil. This mixture is called "Nam Phrik" (namphrik). Nam phrik can be served with grilled chicken and beef.
Can Thai food contain cumin?
Cumin is the most used spice in Thai cuisine. To create Thai dishes with unique flavours, cumin is often combined in various combinations with garlic ginger, coriander, coriander, or other spices.
Stir-fries are a popular use of cumin in Thai cooking. Additionally, cumin is sometimes added to marinades, dressings and sauces. Cumin is a key ingredient in Thai food. However, there are many other spices.
Unique flavours are added by fish sauce, garlic cloves, ginger, and chilli peppers. You can create Thai-inspired signature dishes by combining spices in different proportions.
Cumin is a vital ingredient in Thai cooking. It can often be found in traditional Thai dishes. This spice gives Thai food a distinct and complex flavor. Cumin can be used to add unique spices to many Thai dishes.
In Thai cuisine, chefs can add spices like cumin into their dishes to create authentic flavours. So the answer to the question is yes - cumin is a critical component in many traditional Thai dishes.
Is it possible to add spice to a drink?
I love spices adding flavour to food. How do you make spices alive in drinks?
Spices are wonderful because they can add depth and flavor to any beverage. Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to your favorite beverage, such as coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.
Most recipes call for ground spices. This means that you'll need fresh whole spice. It makes sense but is time-consuming and expensive.
This is where the magic happens. It's possible to transform your favorite spices into a powdered form that is easy to use with a bit of creativity. Mix them with your favorite drinks to make delicious spiced beverages.
These powders can be made in two ways. A second method is to grind whole spices into fine powder. Another way is to grind the spices in a mortar and pestle.
It doesn't matter what method you choose, the result is easier to measure out than whole spices and easier to store. Powder also keeps well so you won't run dry.
You can experiment with mixing spices to create different flavours. For example, you could combine peppermint and spearmint leaves to make minty water. Or ginger and cardamom pods to make spicy ginger tea.
Once you've learned how to make powdered spices from scratch, you can apply the same process to herbs. You can use basil, rosemary and thyme as common herbs.
There are many options. Powdered spices can enhance the flavor and texture of beverages, such as soups or salads, as well as the taste of pasta.
What's the difference of curry and curried
There is no difference in spelling. Both words refer to the same thing: an Indian dish combining meat or vegetables with various seasonings.
Curry is derived in Hindi from kari, which means to rub. This refers the way that the spice mix is applied onto the food. Curried foods should be cooked until they are golden brown.
Although curried dishes used to be reserved for special occasions, today they are enjoyed all over India. They include chicken, beef and lamb as well as fish, vegetables and rice.
Plain white rice is often served with curried dishes. Other common accompaniments include raita (a yogurt sauce) and chutney (a sweet relish).
What are the 11 Indian spices used in Indian cooking
Indian cuisine has eleven spices: cumin seeds (coriander seeds), mustard seeds (fennel seeds), nigella seeds and black pepper.
These ingredients can be found used in almost every recipe. These spices give a distinctive taste to dishes such as dal (lentils), curries, chutneys, pickles, rice, bread, and sweets.
Also, spices have many health benefits. For example, turmeric helps fight cancer cells. Cloves protect against bad breath. Black pepper reduces cholesterol. Cinnamon lowers blood pressure. And ginger aids digestion.
A spice rack can be a wonderful kitchen tool, as it allows for you to try different flavors. You can either make your own spice blends or purchase ready-made spices.
Some people do not like to add spices to their food. They believe that spices only mask natural flavors and do nothing to improve them. A pinch of salt and pepper can enhance the flavor of your food.
Most chefs agree that spices are an essential part of cooking art. Without them, many dishes would be bland and tasteless. So next time you're feeling adventurous, why not try a new recipe and see what happens?
What does Thai spice serve?
We've all heard the term "Thai spice" thrown around without knowing exactly what it means. But when we discover our mouths water, we wonder why we haven't been eating more of it.
It's more than just a spice. It is an important ingredient that gives flavor and depth to bland dishes.
Many recipes call for Thai spice, but only a few have the actual thing. Let's find out how to add these wonderful flavors to your dishes.
Thais have been cooking with herbs, spices and other flavors since ancient times. Thai comes from the Sanskrit term for "to prepare".
Thais are still fond of spicy foods. This preference is often attributed to the hot weather in Thailand, which makes it difficult to keep warm without something hot to drink. Thais consume more chili peppers than Americans and Europeans.
You can learn the most about Thai spices by visiting a local Asian grocery. You'll find many ingredients there, including fresh basil leaves, dried chilies and curry paste.
Whole peppercorns, whole cloves, cinnamon sticks and star anise may also be found.
There are two types of spices in Thai cuisine: dry and wet. Wet spices are ground finely, while dry spices are typically ground.
Dry spices can be added to any dish. A good example is chicken soup with ground red pepper. Wet spices are commonly mixed with oil or butter to form a paste.
Wet spices are often used in sauces, marinades, and dressings. Fish sauce, oyster sauces, sesame and sesame olive oils, curry paste and hoisin are some of the most common wet spice options.
Thai recipes can be prepared at home by knowing which spices pair well with what ingredients.
For example, red pepper flakes is recommended for beef. If you use seafood like shrimp, you should use white pepper instead.
You can also order online if your Asian market is not available. Here you will find everything, from dried chilies and exotic herbs to spices.
You might want to try these Thai recipes next time you feel hungry.

Do You Know How To Make Curry Paste?
Curry paste includes dried chillies (scallions, shallots), galangal root and lemongrass as well as kaffir lime leaves, garlic, shrimp pastes, sugar, salt and sometimes coconut milk. It is widely used in Thai cuisine.
Curry paste is one of the most popular condiments in Southeast Asia. It gives many dishes a unique taste, including curries, soups stir-fries, stir-fries and salads.
It is very easy to make it at home. Follow our step-bystep guide below.
Step1 - Prepare Ingredients
- You need to prepare all ingredients before starting this recipe.
- Begin by peeling and cutting shallots into small pieces (about 2 cups). Then, cut the galangal roots into small pieces (approximately 3 inches in length), and then set aside.
- Next, remove and cut the cloves of garlic (about four cloves). Lemongrass stems about 1/2 inch thick should be removed and finely chopped.
- After that, you will need to crush dried red chili peppers (about four tablespoons) before removing the seeds (optional).
- Next, trim the kaffir lime leaves into strips about 5 inches in length. Remove the white part of the stem and set it aside.
- Then drain the shrimp paste (6 ounces) and then coarsely mash it.
- Finally, measure the sugar and salt.
Step2 - Grind Ingredients
- Mix all ingredients until well combined.
- The texture should look similar to peanut-butter.
- Take note: If you are looking to reduce oil in your dish you can add water to the mix.
Step3 - Add Coconut Milk
- Mix coconut milk with the mixture.
- Slowly add coconut water to prevent the paste from getting too sticky.
- If you like it milder, reduce the number of chillies used and add more galangal root.
- If you like it spicier, add more chillies and less galangal root. The final result should taste good to you.
Step4 - Serve
- Top with your favorite food.
- Enjoy!
