What's the difference in cooking with whole vs. ground spices? Ground Spices?
There isn't any difference between cooking with whole spices and ground spices. All spices can be ground once they have been harvested. The quality is the same.
However, the price differences are significant. Whole spices cost more because of the labour involved in processing them. The flavor is well worth the effort.
If you purchase whole spices in bulk, you might get an additional discount. An example: If you buy an entire bag full of cinnamon sticks, you might get a discount.
The same is true for nutmeg cloves ginger, cardamom, and ginger. You may be able save money if you buy these spices in bulk.
Whole spices can also last longer than the ground spices. Because ground spices lose potency quickly from oxidation, this is why whole spices last longer than ground spices.
However, the main reason we recommend whole spices is because they add character to recipes.
You can make a delicious curry by using whole turmeric in place of ground turmeric. For chicken dishes, whole coriander seeds can be ground to make a spice blend.
Additionally, spices need to be ground. If you're buying whole spices it makes sense for you to buy large quantities. You won't run low on spices if you buy large quantities.
What is the importance of spices?
A spice is a seasoning that is used to enhance the flavor of food. Spices can come in many forms: powders or liquids, oils, pastes or seeds, as well as liquids and gums. They can also be known as condiments, flavours, and flavor.
A great way to spice up your meals is to add some variety. For extra flavor and excitement, you can add many spices to your dishes.
A few drops of hot sauce can make a soup taste better. Perhaps you can add some cayenne peppers to your cup of rice.
You can experiment with spice recipes best if you use fresh ingredients. If you buy dried herbs, look for those that are organic. Fresh herbs keep longer than dried ones.
Certain spices are essential in cooking. However, you may prefer to avoid some. If you have a history or liver disease, cinnamon sticks can be dangerous. Ginger also contains high amounts of coumarin. However, it is much more concentrated. It is safe for those who have not had liver problems in the past.
What are the typical spices, condiments, and seasonings used in their dishes in Thailand?
Thai cuisine is a mix of Asian influences. Its roots lie in India, China, and Southeast Asia.
Freshness is the main ingredient in Thai cuisine. You get more flavor if ingredients are picked in the early stages of cooking and then cooked quickly. This is why meats, fish, vegetables and fruits are often eaten raw and hot.
Spices and sauces give dishes depth and color. Fresh basil, cilantro, mint, coriander (cilantro), lemongrass, ginger, turmeric, garlic, chillies, chilli paste, soy sauce, tamarind juice, oyster sauce, palm sugar, coconut milk, lime leaves, galangal root, curry powder, shrimp paste, fish sauce, tamarind water, rice vinegar, etc. These ingredients are common.
