Here are my tips for finding cheap organic meats. I'll also tell you how much each pound costs. You will be able to make the most of what you have purchased.
For healthy eating, you don’t have to spend a lot. Sometimes it takes creativity to save money and eat well. Here are some ways you can cut down on food expenses while still getting the best from organic meat.
- Shop at wholesale clubs - Sams Club or Costco are great places to buy bulk foods such as chicken breasts and pork chops. If you are fortunate enough to live near one, you may be able get discounts up to 50 lbs on large quantities. You won't have to waste meat. It's also possible to freeze meat purchased in bulk so that it lasts longer.
- Online shopping is a great way to find meat at a discounted price. For example, Amazon has a weekly deal called Prime Pantry, which includes free shipping on orders over $35. They offer discounts for beef roasts and ground beef as well as lamb steaks, lamb steaks, pork loins, and other items. You can easily browse their website to see what is available at different times.
- Locate a farmer in your area. Local farmers are usually cheaper than big box retailers as they don’t pay high stocking fees. They know exactly what the animals ate and drank to ensure they are fully informed about what is in their bodies.
- Choose lean cuts of meat - It is usually cheaper to cook lean meat than fatty. The leanest cuts are therefore preferred. The most common ones are sirloin steak, tenderloin roast, top round steak, and flank steak. These cuts are very low-fat and high in proteins.
- Explore new recipes. Don't be afraid of trying new things. One of the easiest ways to reduce your grocery bill is to start cooking meals with ingredients you haven't used before. It's possible to create delicious meals with fresh tomatoes, onions and garlic using olive oil, spices, and garlic.
- Be creative with leftovers - If you have leftover cooked meat or poultry, use them for sandwiches, salads, soups, casseroles, etc. You can make quick meals or lunches from leftover meat.
Here you have it! These are my top tips for how to get organic meat on a tight budget. Do you have other tips? Do you have any suggestions for me on where to find cheap meat?
