Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of organic fruits?
Organic foods are grown without pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, hormones, or antibiotics. They also contain more nutrients, such as vitamins A, C, E, and K, plus omega-3 fatty acids. These nutritious ingredients make organic foods better for our bodies, and for the planet.
Organic foods are made using sustainable agricultural practices, which protect soil quality and promote biodiversity. They are made without the use of harmful chemicals, irradiation or sewage waste.
While most consumers associate organics with produce, many organic products include dairy, meat, poultry, eggs, baked goods, personal care items, pet food, and household cleaning supplies.
The USDA defines organic as crops that are grown according to federal standards. This means that farmers can't use non-organic methods of growing these foods. However, they may use approved natural pest control methods, such as crop rotation and cover cropping, and animal feed made from organic materials.
In addition, the farmer must follow guidelines regarding how much fertilizer and pesticide he uses during the growing season and rotate his fields between various crops. GMOs, artificial growthhormones, synthetic insecticides, and synthetic fertilizers cannot be used by farmers.
Produces labelled as 100% organic meet all requirements. But not all farms will label their products 100% organic. That would confuse consumers. Instead, they will say that their product is "made with organic components". "

How To
What happens to the body when you switch over to organic products
Organic products are produced without the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. They are free-range and come from clean water sources. They are organic because they don't contain any additives or chemicals. This product was naturally produced and contains no harmful chemicals.
Natural means how food is grown. It's usually used to describe foods not processed into their final form (such as fruits). Natural foods are usually fresher than processed foods, as they haven’t been exposed to heat, radiation, chemical preservatives, or other treatments. Some people think natural does not necessarily mean healthy. Experts say that there aren't many differences between organic and conventional food. Both types of food have been tested for safety and quality. But organic produce has fewer pollutants and pesticide residues than conventionally grown produce.
Most grocery stores now sell organic products. You can find organic meat, poultry, eggs, and seafood at your local market. Some companies sell only organic products. Other companies have separate sections. You should look for USDA Certified Organic, Non GMO Project Verified (Biodynamic Association Certified), Rainforest Alliance Certified, and other certifications.
These products should not be consumed if you are pregnant. Unborn babies and infants can be exposed to pesticides.
