Frequently Asked Questions
What are natural beauty products?
Organic Beauty Products contain natural ingredients without artificial chemicals, such as parabens and phenoxyethanol. These ingredients are present in all conventional beauty products including shampoos and cosmetics.
Organic beauty products can also be made without animal testing, and they do not contain any genetically altered organisms (GMO).
The USDA defines organic as "a system for production that fosters recycling of resources". It has been used over the years to describe foods grown without pesticides.
The harmful effects of chemical compounds on our bodies have led to an increase in the demand for ecofriendly beauty products.
These include skin irritations, cancer, hormonal imbalance, premature aging, and allergies.
Organic beauty companies are committed to creating healthy and safe products for consumers while protecting the environment.
What are some of the most popular organic products in your country?
The fastest-growing industry is organic food. We've come far from our roots but there is still room for improvement.
Organic products are the future. They are safer, healthier for the environment, and easier to afford for consumers.
But they also tend to be higher priced. The Organic Food Index was created to address this. We wanted to find out which foods are most popular with shoppers today, and whether these trends are changing.
The results showed that organic food is increasing in popularity. Between 2011 & 2012, almost half of Americans purchased organic food.
According to USDA, organic food production increased by 10% only last year. Currently, organic food accounts for 9% in the U.S. agricultural production.
Organic food is definitely on the rise, but it still seems expensive for consumers. The Organic Trade Association (OTA) reports that organic food retail prices average almost double the price of conventional foods.
That said, organic food is growing faster than any other segment of the food sector. Looking closely at the data, you'll see that organic food consumption has grown steadily since 2009.
According to OTA's data, organic products sold in supermarkets grew at 14% between 2010 - 2011.
This is because consumers are looking for healthier foods. Organic food sales have been increasing in all age groups.
The younger generation is however leading the charge for organic food. Millennials are twice as likely than baby boomers to buy organic foods. 25 percent of organic food purchases are made by young adults younger than 35.
What are the benefits of organic products for skin?
Organic skincare products are made without synthetic chemicals such as parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, petrolatum, petroleum jelly, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulphate, talc, triclosan, titanium dioxide, triethanolamine, vitamin A palmitate, etc.

They also have the ability to support healthy skin, prevent premature ageing, promote healing after injuries and overall well-being.

What is the difference in organic and non-organic foods?
Organic food does not contain pesticides, chemical fertilisers, sewage waste, irradiation, genetic modification. Organic farming practices promote soil health, water quality and animal welfare.
Inorganic foods are grown with pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and sewage sludge. Radiated foods can be treated with radiation. Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are created by biological engineering techniques.
The term "natural", often used interchangeably to mean "organic," is frequently used. But, "natural" does not necessarily refer to organic. Natural products can also be labeled with synthetic ingredients.
Organic produce is often more nutritious than conventional produce, as the soil has fewer pesticides and harmful chemicals. Organic farmers don't use any artificial fertilizers, hormones or antibiotics.
Statistics
- According to a study performed by consumerreports.org, organic products, compared to non-organic products, ranged anywhere from 13 percent cheaper to 303 percent more expensive. (en.wikipedia.org)
- As for organic meat, regulations require that animals be raised in living conditions that accommodate their natural behaviours (like the ability to graze on pasture), fed 100% organic feed and forage, and not administered antibiotics or hormones. (usda.gov)
- When packaged products indicate they are “made with organic [specific ingredient or food group],” they contain at least 70% organically produced ingredients. (usda.gov)

How To
5 Reasons to Buy Organic Products
Organic foods are free from pesticides and synthetic fertilisers. They don't contain any genetically modified organisms or irradiated foods. They are not made with sewage sludge, industrial solvents, or any other chemical substances. During the growth process, food is kept clean from any contamination. It is free of artificial preservatives and additives. It does not contain hormones or antibiotics. They are also produced in conditions that enable them to preserve their nutritional value, freshness, and quality for longer periods.
- Health benefits. Organic produce contains fewer chemicals than nonorganic produce. This means that it is less likely to cause allergies. This also means that you are consuming less toxins and carcinogens.
- Eco-friendliness. Produce grown without pesticides and synthetic fertilizer requires very little water. Organic farms are typically located far away form areas of high pollution and where conventional growth is difficult because it requires so much effort. That helps reduce air pollution.
- Sustainability. Organic farming is based on soil fertility and not chemical fertilizers. This results in soils that are healthier and have higher levels of organic matter. The rotation of crops and the letting of land fallow can improve soil health. When farm animals eat only grasses and grains raised without any added hormones or antibiotics, they develop strong immune systems.
- Taste. Traditional fruits and vegetables are often bland due to the fact that they are picked at peak ripeness and shipped long distances for grocery stores. Organic produce tastes richer and sweeter because it was harvested while still unripe.
- Nutrition. GMOs are harmful chemicals found in many conventional processed foods. Avoid these harmful chemicals by eating whole foods, such as meat, eggs and fish, seeds, legumes, fruits, vegetables, herbs, and beans.
