What are my top priorities when buying organic products

USDA-certified organic label are desirable. This certifies that the product has met certain standards set by USDA. On packages, boxes, cartons or cans, look out for the USDA Organic seal.

When you shop for meat, ensure that it comes from cows who are fed organic feed. Cattle are ruminants. They eat the whole animal. Ruminant cattle have four stomach areas: rumen (reticulum), omasum (omasum), and abomasum. If a cow is to be labeled organically, all parts must be organically fed.

Make sure you only buy chicken from chicken farms that are fed organically and have never been given antibiotics. Omnivore chickens eat both animals and plants. Omnivorous chickens have a digestive tract composed of a crop, proventriculus, gizzard, small intestine, large intestine, and anus.

Buy only dairy products from cows that have been fed organically grown feed. Just like ruminants have four stomachs, dairy cows have four. The fourth stomach compartment--the cow's udder--is where milk is produced.

To find out the percent of the feed the animals received when you purchase other types livestock, be sure to read the labels. One example is pork that may be labeled '95% Organic'. This means that 95 percent came from organic sources.

Organic food is produced without the use of artificial fertilizers and pesticides. These chemicals could cause health problems for those who eat inorganic food.

Organic food is grown naturally without harmful substances such as chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides. These chemicals can harm humans and animals.

Five Reasons to Purchase Organic Products

Organic foods do not use pesticides or synthetic fertilisers. They do not contain genetically modified organisms (GMOs), or radioactive ingredients. Their production does not use sewage sludge and industrial solvents. During its growing cycle, the food's natural environment will be protected from contamination. It is free of preservatives as well as artificial additives. It does not contain hormones or antibiotics. In addition, they are produced under conditions that allow them to retain their nutritional value and freshness for longer periods.

  1. Health benefits. Organic produce contains less chemicals that nonorganic. This makes it less likely to cause allergies or sensitivities. This means you're also consuming less toxic and carcinogens.
