Organic food is the fastest-growing industry today. Even though we have come a long ways from our roots there is still plenty of room for growth.

Organic products are the future. Organic products are safer and better for the environment. They also make it more affordable for consumers.

However, they are also more expensive. That is why we developed the Organic Food Index. We wanted the ability to identify which foods are currently most popular and whether these trends have changed.

The results of the study show that organic food has become more popular. Between 2011 and 2012 the number of Americans buying organic food increased nearly 50%.

The USDA reported that organic production rose by 10% in the last year. The U.S. now produces 9% of its agricultural output from organic food.

Although organic food is gaining popularity, it appears that consumers still have to pay a premium for it. The average retail price for organic food is almost twice that of conventional foods, according to the Organic Trade Association (OTA).

That said, organic food is growing faster than any other segment of the food sector. You'll notice that organic food consumption has increased steadily since 2009.

In fact, according to OTA, the volume of organic products sold in supermarkets grew by 14% between 2010 and 2011.

This is due to consumer demand for healthier food, which explains why organic foods sales are rising across all age groups.

However, younger generations are leading the charge when choosing organic food. Millennials have twice the likelihood of buying organic food as baby boomers. Young adults below 35 years of age account for 25%.


What is inorganic?

Organic food does not use pesticides or fertilizers. Inorganic foods contain these chemicals, which may cause health problems.

Organic food is organically grown without the use of harmful chemicals such as pesticides or herbicides. These chemicals may cause damage to animals as well as humans.

Inorganic foods are meats, fishes, eggs, buttermilk, cheese, yogurt and honey as well as vegetables, fruits and spices.

Organic refers specifically to the method an agricultural product has been grown. Organic farming, for example, uses natural methods and soil amendments in order to grow crops. Conventional farming, however, uses pesticides and synthetic fertilizers.

U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines must be followed when organic food is labeled. According to the National Organic Program Standards all organic food must be free of banned materials such as antibiotics growth hormones genetically modified organisms GMOs, and industrial solvents. Organic food must not contain toxic chemicals, petroleum-based fertilizers or sewage sludges.


What is an Organic Food Producer?

Organic food producers use organic methods to grow their products. These foods include fruits, vegetables and dairy products.

Organic food production happens on farms where crops have been naturally nurtured. This includes soil preparation, pest control, and crop rotation.

Organic products must meet certain criteria established by USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) before they can be considered organic.

These guidelines are designed to ensure consumers have access to safe, healthy and nutritious food.

Organic foods offer many health benefits. They are free from heavy metal contamination and pesticide residues. They also have higher nutritional content and better taste.

USDA certified organic products must bear the USDA Certified Organic label.

This certification means that the product meets standards established by the National Organic Program.

I will give you tips on where to find cheap organic meats and how much they cost per pound. This will teach you how to get the most out of your purchase.

You don't need to spend a lot of money to eat healthily. Sometimes, it takes a bit of creativity to save money while eating well. Here's my list of ways to keep your food costs down while enjoying organic meat's benefits.

  1. Wholesale clubs - Sams Club, Costco, and Sams Club offer great deals on bulk foods like chicken breasts. You may be able to get large quantities of meat for as low as 50 pounds if your home is near one of these stores. This way, you won't waste any meat. You can also freeze the meat if you buy it bulk.
  2. You can shop online for meat at great prices. Amazon offers Prime Pantry, a weekly deal with free shipping on orders above $35. There are discounts on roasts, ground beef and lamb steaks as well as pork loins. It's easy to browse their website and see what's available at different times.
  3. Local farmers will usually be cheaper than big-box retailers since they don't pay large fees to stock their shelves. Local farmers also know exactly what their animals have eaten and drank so they can determine what's in their bodies.
  4. Look for meat cuts that are leanest - Lean meat is generally cheaper to cook than fatty meat. Therefore, choose the leanest cuts. The most commonly used cuts include flank steak, tenderloin and top round steaks. These cuts are very low-fat and high in proteins.
  5. Try new recipes - Don't be afraid to try new things! It's possible to reduce grocery expenses by cooking new recipes using ingredients you've never tried before. You'll be surprised at how many delicious dishes can you create using fresh tomatoes.
  6. You can be creative with leftovers. If you have leftover poultry or meat, you can use them to make sandwiches, soups and casseroles. It's easy to make quick lunches and dinners with leftover meat.
