When purchasing meat, ensure it is 100% organic. Cattle are ruminants which means that they chew the cud. Ruminant cattle have 4 stomach compartments: Rumen, reticulum and omasum. Organic feeding must be done on all organs of the animal in order to get the cow labelled organic 100 percent.

Make sure you only buy chicken from chicken farms that are fed organically and have never been given antibiotics. Chickens can eat both animal and plant food. A digestive tract that is omnivorous includes a crop, proventriculus and gizzard. It also contains small intestines, large intestines, and anus.

It is important to ensure that dairy products are from cows that were fed 100% organic feed. Just like ruminants have four stomachs, dairy cows have four. The fourth stomach, or the udder is where you get milk.

Check the label when purchasing livestock of any other type to find out what percentage was used in the animal's diet. For example, pork may be labelled '95% organic.' This means 95 percent of the pig's feed came from organic sources.


Organic foods are better for us.

According to the Environmental Working Group’s latest report on pesticide residues, organic fruits/vegetables had nearly half as many pesticides than non-organic. Organic apples had eight times less pesticides than nonorganic apples. However, organic strawberries had four times the amount of pesticides as their conventional counterparts.

Other studies suggest that eating organic food reduces exposure to toxic metals like lead and mercury. For instance, one study showed that children who consumed organic meat had 33% less blood lead levels than children who did not. Another study concluded that pregnant women should avoid consuming conventional fish due to high levels of mercury.

Organic food seems to be safer than the non-organic. However, to reduce your risk of cancer and other diseases, experts recommend choosing fresh fruit and vegetables whenever possible.


What is inorganic food?

Organic food is made without pesticides or artificial fertilizers. Inorganic foods contain these chemicals, which may cause health problems.

The same is true of our food. We know where our organic food came from and how it has been grown. We also know it was not treated using harmful chemicals.

Organic food is produced without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. Organic farmers aren't allowed to use these substances.

However, organic farming is not an easy task. There are many safe ways to grow them.

Sustainable agriculture is also known as organic farming. This means that organic farming does not use as many resources as conventional methods, but it still provides the essential nutrients needed to sustain life.

Organic farming methods include crop rotations, composting manure and cover cropping. These practices help to prevent soil erosion and improve water purity.

Organic foods: Are they safer and more nutritious?

Organic food is produced without chemical pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. They are grown under natural conditions without artificial inputs such as fungicides, insecticides, herbicides, hormones, antibiotics, or genetic engineering. Organic farming practices include crop rotation, cover crops, composting animal manure, recycling wastewater, and integrated pest management (IPM).

The USDA National Organic Program (NOP), established in 2002 to regulate production, handling and processing of organic products sold in the United States. The NOP regulations ensure that organic agricultural products are produced according to federal standards outlined in the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. In addition, the NOP rules mandate that organic products must be free from prohibited substances, including pesticide residues, veterinary drugs, growth hormones, genetically modified organisms, irradiation, sewage sludge, industrial waste, and heavy metals.

In the U.S., there are two types of certification programs available for producers who want their products labelled "organic": one for farmers and ranchers and another for manufacturers. Both programs require audits of operations each year to ensure that they are meeting strict standards. These services are offered by several certifying agencies, including CCOF Certified Organic Farmers & Ranchers and Quality Assurance International. All three organizations provide third-party verification of farms' adherence to strict guidelines regarding environmental stewardship, labour practices, and livestock care.

According to the USDA's Economic Research Service, organic agriculture accounted for $4.7 billion in sales in 2013. Retail spending on certified organic products reached nearly $1.5 Billion in 2013. This is a 23 per cent increase from 2009. The number of grocery stores that sold organic products increased 12 percent over the same period. Spending directly on organic produce grew by 29 percent while that on meat, poultry, eggs and seafood only grew by 1 percent.

While organic food costs more, consumers say its quality justifies the added expense. According to a 2015 survey conducted by Consumer Reports, 88 percent of respondents said they would pay more for organic food if it meant higher nutritional value. Health Affairs also published a study showing that organic foods are less likely for people to get heart disease, diabetes, cancer, or obesity.

Even though there is no evidence organic foods cause or treat diseases, some studies show that they can improve overall health by reducing pesticide and other contaminants exposure. For example, a review of 31 studies published in 2010 concluded that organically raised beef had significantly lower levels of toxic chemicals and parasites than conventionally raised beef. Similar conclusions were reached in a separate analysis of 11 other studies published in 2012.

The Environmental Working Group released a report in 2014 that analyzed data from USDA's Agricultural Marketing Resource Center. They found that there was a decrease in foodborne illness due to E.coli, salmonella, listeria moncytogenes or campylobacter. The group also observed that E.coliO157 is a less prevalent cause of illness in humans among children than adults. This was because the USDA has imposed stricter organic standards on animals raised for human consumption.
