  • Certified Organic means that all of the ingredients in the formula were grown using methods that protect the soil, water, air, wildlife, and farmers.


What are the top organic products?

The fastest-growing industry is organic food. There is still much to be done, even though we have come so far from our roots.

Organic products are the future. Organic products are safer and better for the environment. They also make it more affordable for consumers.

But they also tend to be higher priced. This is why we created the Organic Food Index. We wanted to know which foods are popular today and whether trends are changing.

The results showed that organic food is increasing in popularity. Between 2011 and 2012 the number of Americans buying organic food increased nearly 50%.

The USDA reports that organic production increased 10% last year. Organic food now makes up 9% U.S. agriculture output.

Organic food is growing in popularity but is still expensive. According to the Organic Trade Association OTA, organic food retail prices are about twice those of conventional products.

The organic food sector is growing faster than other segments of the food supply. You can see that organic food has been steadily increasing since 2009.

In fact, according to OTA, the volume of organic products sold in supermarkets grew by 14% between 2010 and 2011.

This is due to consumer demand for healthier food, which explains why organic foods sales are rising across all age groups.

Younger generations are also leading the way in organic food choices. Millennials are twice as likely than baby boomers to buy organic foods. And young adults under 35 years old account for 25% of all organic food purchases.


How can I determine if my produce was organic?

These labels will help you ensure that organic produce is purchased.

USDA Organic Certified- This product has been certified organic by the USDA.

Certified Naturally-Grown - Produce which has passed strict organic practices requirements, but not yet received USDA certification.

Pastured/Free range - These are animals that live outside and graze freely on grasses and herbs.

These labels indicate that the product meets certain criteria.

  • No synthetic pesticides and fertilizers
  • There are no genetically modified organisms
  • Animals are never given antibiotics
  • Animals are never given hormones.
  • No growth-promoting drugs
  • No feed additives
  • No artificial ingredients

In this post, I'll share tips and tricks on buying organic meat without breaking your bank account.

I will give you tips on where to find cheap organic meats and how much they cost per pound. You'll learn how to get the best from what you buy.

For healthy eating, you don’t have to spend a lot. Sometimes you need to be creative in order to save money and still eat healthy. Here are my top tips for keeping food costs down and still enjoying the many benefits of organic meat.

  1. Wholesale clubs - Sams Club, Costco, and Sams Club offer great deals on bulk foods like chicken breasts. These stores often offer discounts on large quantities of meat, up to 50 pounds, if you are lucky enough to be near one. You won't have to waste meat. You can also freeze the meat if you buy it bulk.
  2. You can shop online for meat at great prices. Amazon, for example, offers Prime Pantry, a weekly deal that includes free shipping on orders greater than $35 There are discounts on roasts, ground beef and lamb steaks as well as pork loins. It's simple to visit their website to view the latest offerings at different times.
  3. Local farmers often charge less than big box retailers due to the fact that they don't have large overheads for stocking their shelves. Plus, they know exactly what their animals ate and drank, so they know exactly what's inside their bodies.
  4. Look for meat cuts that are leanest - Lean meat is generally cheaper to cook than fatty meat. You should always look for the best cuts. The most commonly used cuts include flank steak, tenderloin and top round steaks. These cuts have high protein and low fat.
