Frequently Asked Questions
Are organic foods better for us?
The Environmental Working Group's most recent report on pesticide residues found in food shows that organic fruits and veggies had almost half the pesticide content of non-organic. Research has also suggested that organic food may reduce mercury and lead exposure. A study concluded that children who ate organic meat had 33% lower levels of blood lead than those who didn’t. Another study concluded that pregnant mothers should avoid eating conventional fish because of the high levels mercury.

Is organic a guarantee that the product is pesticide-free
Organic food does not contain pesticides or chemicals and is therefore chemical-free. This means organic food is free from pesticides and fertilizers.
Organic produce contains more nutrients and is healthier than conventionally manufactured foods, as it does not contain any harmful additives.
The USDA National Organic Program (NOP), requires that farmers follow strict guidelines when growing organic crops.
These guidelines address soil preparation, crop rotations, pest control, water conservation, harvesting, and other practices.
In addition, organic farming methods promote healthy ecosystems, which benefit wildlife and natural habitats.
Why is organic food important?
Organic produce is vital for our health. It's the best way to ensure we eat nutritious foods. Not only is it better for us, but it's also more environmentally friendly because it doesn't rely on pesticides and fertilizers.
Organic farming uses natural methods for growing crops without using harmful chemicals. This results in fewer environmental pollutants and makes organic farming safer. When you choose organic food, both you and the earth are protected.
The health benefits of organic foods go well beyond our bodies. We all know how bad processed food can make us feel. Did you know that organic fruits and veggies aren't subject to chemical spray? It means that organic fruits and vegetables taste better, last longer, and are brighter.
This is why organic food is so important. Organic is healthy for your health and for the environment.

Five Reasons to Purchase Organic Products
Organic food is grown without synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. They contain no genetically modified organisms (GMOs) or irradiated ingredients. Their production methods do not involve sewage sludge or industrial solvents. During its growing cycle, the food's natural environment will be protected from contamination. It is free from artificial additives and preservatives. There is no use of antibiotics or hormones. In addition, they are produced under conditions that allow them to retain their nutritional value and freshness for longer periods.
- Health benefits. Nonorganic produce is more chemically-laden than organic. This means it's less likely to cause allergies and sensitivities. This means you're also consuming less toxic and carcinogens.
- Eco-friendliness. Produce grown without pesticides or synthetic fertilizer needs very little water. Because it takes so much energy to grow conventionally, organic farms tend to be located far away from urban areas where there's plenty of pollution. This helps to reduce air pollution.
- Sustainability. Organic farming relies less on chemical fertilizers and more on soil fertility. This results with healthier soils with greater organic matter. Farmers should rotate crops and let the land go bare periodically to improve soil health. Farm animals that eat only grasses, grains and no antibiotics develop strong immune systems.
- Taste. The taste of conventional fruits and veggies is often bland. This is because they are picked at the peak of ripeness. They then get shipped long distances to their destination. Organic produce tastes richer and sweeter because it was harvested while still unripe.
- Nutrition. GMOs and BPA can be found in many processed foods. These harmful substances can be avoided by sticking to whole foods like meat, eggs, fish and nuts as well as seeds, beans, fruits, vegetables, and herbs.
