Frequently Asked Questions
What is organic meat exactly?
Organic meat is food that has not been treated with pesticides or artificial fertilizers. Organic meat is also a guarantee that the animals weren’t fed any genetically altered feed. This means that the meat is safe for consumption as there aren’t any harmful chemicals.
Organic meats are healthier for our environment. The pollution levels in our environment are reduced when we eat organic foods. Organic farmers generally don't use toxic chemicals that kill birds and insects. We help to protect wildlife.
Buy organic meats whenever possible. This is the best way for you to eat healthy, organic meats. Buying local helps keep more money circulating within the community rather than going out of state. Local businesses often pass along savings to customers when shopping locally. Local businesses are more likely to keep jobs here than export them abroad.
What are some things I should look out for when purchasing organic goods?
USDA-certified organic labels should be sought. This guarantee that the product has met specific standards set forth by USDA. On packages, boxes, cartons or cans, look out for the USDA Organic seal.
When purchasing meat, ensure it is 100% organic. Cattle are ruminants. They eat the whole animal. Ruminant cattle have four stomach compartments: rumen, reticulum, omasum, and abomasum. If the cow is to be labeled "100% organic", all of its parts must have been organically fed.
When buying chicken, make sure it comes only from chickens fed 100% organic feed and never given antibiotics. Chickens are omnivores. This means they can eat both plant and animal food. Omnivorous chickens possess a digestive tract made up of a crop.
When buying dairy products, ensure they come from cows fed 100% organically grown feed. Just like ruminants, dairy cows also have four stomachs. Milk comes from the fourth stomach compartment--the udder.
Check the label when purchasing livestock of any other type to find out what percentage was used in the animal's diet. Pork may be labeled "95% Organic" which means that 95 percent of its feed was organic.
Is organic a guarantee that the product is pesticide-free
Organic food is free from pesticides and chemical fertilizers. This means that organic food is not exposed to pesticides or fertilizers.
Because organic produce is free of harmful additives, it also has more nutrients than conventionally grown foods.
The USDA National Organic Program requires that organic farming practices be followed by farmers.
These guidelines include soil preparation and crop rotation, pest management, water conservation, as well as harvesting practices.
Organic farming methods are also beneficial for wildlife and natural habitats.

5 Reasons to Buy Organic Products
Organic foods are grown without pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. They don't contain any genetically modified organisms or irradiated foods. Their production processes do not include sewage or industrial solvents. During its growing cycle, the food's natural environment will be protected from contamination. It is free from artificial additives and preservatives. It does not contain hormones or antibiotics. They are also produced in conditions that enable them to preserve their nutritional value, freshness, and quality for longer periods.
- Health benefits. Nonorganic produce has more chemicals than organic. Organic produce is healthier. It's therefore less likely that it will cause allergies and other sensitivities. You also consume fewer toxic substances and carcinogens.
- Eco-friendliness. Produce grown without pesticides or synthetic fertilizer needs very little water. Because it takes so much energy to grow conventionally, organic farms tend to be located far away from urban areas where there's plenty of pollution. This reduces air pollution.
- Sustainability. Organic farming relies on soil fertility, rather than chemical fertilisers. This results in healthier soils and higher levels organic matter. It is better for soil health to rotate crops and allow the land to fallow regularly. Farm animals that eat only grasses, grains and no antibiotics develop strong immune systems.
- Taste. Due to being picked at peak quality, vegetables and fruits are often bland. Organic produce is more rich and sweetened because it was harvested when it was still unripe.
- Nutrition. GMOs and BPA can be found in many processed foods. Stick to whole foods, including meat, eggs fish, nuts seeds, beans and fruit.
